0:00:00 > 0:00:02week, temperatures will struggle to get above freezing. If you

0:00:03 > 0:00:05get above freezing. If you are heading further afield, here's the

0:00:05 > 0:00:06National forecast.

0:00:10 > 0:00:14Good evening. Quiet but cold as the theme as we head towards the

0:00:14 > 0:00:17weekend. A frosty start first thing in the morning. There could be some

0:00:17 > 0:00:22snow as we head into next week. More on that in a moment. We close the

0:00:22 > 0:00:25day out to the west with quite a lot of cloud around. That has been the

0:00:25 > 0:00:28story through the afternoon. There has been some sunshine. Beautiful,

0:00:28 > 0:00:33as you can see from this picture sent in by Christian in Berkshire.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36As we had through the weekend we will continue to see some lovely

0:00:36 > 0:00:40spells of sunshine around. But it is going to turn increasingly colder

0:00:40 > 0:00:44and that is due to the direction and strength of the wind. For the next

0:00:44 > 0:00:48few hours it is the status quo. We have cloud out to the west, we have

0:00:48 > 0:00:51clear skies. Where we have seen a clear skies by day, temperatures

0:00:51 > 0:00:58will fall away. The blue tones are denoting temperatures as cold as

0:00:58 > 0:01:03freezing, maybe low as minus four degrees. This white is actually

0:01:03 > 0:01:07frost. The sunshine will lift the frost as we go through the day.

0:01:07 > 0:01:10Again, some sun around. The exception is Northern Ireland,

0:01:10 > 0:01:13perhaps the south-west of England. Temperatures perhaps sitting at

0:01:13 > 0:01:18about four or 7 degrees. Don't start shivering yet. It is set to get

0:01:18 > 0:01:22colder over the next few days. The easterly breeze will continue to

0:01:22 > 0:01:25strengthen, perhaps driving in more cloud across North Sea coasts. As we

0:01:25 > 0:01:29go through the night we still have clear skies and, yes, temperatures

0:01:29 > 0:01:33falling away quite widely again, even through Northern Ireland into

0:01:33 > 0:01:39Sunday morning. Lows quite widely of -4 minus five degrees. Another

0:01:39 > 0:01:44widespread hard frost. The sunshine will have its work cut out, lifting

0:01:44 > 0:01:48the frost. We will see a lovely afternoon for many. More sunshine

0:01:48 > 0:01:51from Northern Ireland with the chance of some cloud and maybe a

0:01:51 > 0:01:55wintry showers into the far north-east of Scotland. It is going

0:01:55 > 0:01:57to feel colder, particularly when you factor in the wind. Perhaps

0:01:57 > 0:02:02feeling more like -1 watt -3 when you are out and about for any length

0:02:02 > 0:02:06of time. From Monday onwards, things could start to get a bit more

0:02:06 > 0:02:09interesting. We pick up more moisture from the North Sea, which

0:02:09 > 0:02:13could drive showers to start with across the East Coast. As we go

0:02:13 > 0:02:17through the week, some of these will start to push further inland. Yes,

0:02:17 > 0:02:22they will be showers of snow. So, if you haven't already got the message,

0:02:22 > 0:02:25it is going to continue to feel bitterly cold over the next few

0:02:25 > 0:02:29days. We could see some snow at times. Frost and ice will be a

0:02:29 > 0:02:30feature as well. If I
