0:00:07 > 0:00:12Good evening. When I was standing here this time last week many places

0:00:12 > 0:00:16still had snow on the ground. What a difference a week makes. We are

0:00:16 > 0:00:20gearing up for what is going to be a really mild weekend. Low pressure

0:00:20 > 0:00:24driving the weather, sitting down here to the south-west. You can see

0:00:24 > 0:00:29the lumps of cloud circulating around it. This cloud has brought

0:00:29 > 0:00:34rain. With the low pressure situated to the south-west we will feel in

0:00:34 > 0:00:39these sorely winds and mild air edging northwards to all parts of

0:00:39 > 0:00:43the country through the weekend. The mild air following on behind these

0:00:43 > 0:00:46outbreaks of rain. Heavy rain to Wales, northern England, Northern

0:00:46 > 0:00:49Ireland and southern Scotland later in the night. There could be snow

0:00:49 > 0:00:55over the highest ground. It will mostly be rain. The northern half of

0:00:55 > 0:01:00Scotland keeps clear, starry skies and frost. South, 11 degrees in

0:01:00 > 0:01:02Cardiff and London to start the weekend. A mild start to what will

0:01:02 > 0:01:07be a mild weekend. Pretty high temperatures. Spells of rain at

0:01:07 > 0:01:12times, but not all the time. It will be quite cloudy. Here is our area of

0:01:12 > 0:01:17low pressure, the engine room sending weather systems in our

0:01:17 > 0:01:21direction. This front taking rain to Northern Ireland, northern England

0:01:21 > 0:01:24and Scotland. The rain turning to snow over the highest hills of

0:01:24 > 0:01:29Scotland. Remember there will be milder air feeding in all the way.

0:01:29 > 0:01:34This next frontal system bringing heavy bursts of rain to south-west,

0:01:34 > 0:01:37Wales and the Midlands into the afternoon. In between the two rain

0:01:37 > 0:01:40bands we could see the highest of the temperatures. For Shetland,

0:01:40 > 0:01:44Auckney and the far north of mainland Scotland stick out into

0:01:44 > 0:01:48sunshine, rain and hill snow elsewhere across Scotland. Chilly,

0:01:48 > 0:01:5310 degrees in Belfast. Outbreaks of heavy rain for Northern Ireland,

0:01:53 > 0:01:58East Angliaened a the south-east. 15 degrees for Norwich and close to

0:01:58 > 0:02:02London if you get brightest. Things will brighten up for the end of the

0:02:02 > 0:02:06day to the south-west of Wales and south-west of England. The clear

0:02:06 > 0:02:09skies will spread northwards and eastwards on Saturday night. They

0:02:09 > 0:02:13will fill in with mist and fog patches. A murky start to Sunday.

0:02:13 > 0:02:17Most of that mist and murk will clear. We will see spells of

0:02:17 > 0:02:22sunshine, but showers starting to break out down towards the south. Of

0:02:22 > 0:02:26these heavy and possibly thundery. By this stage, even Scotland in the

0:02:26 > 0:02:30mild air, 10 degrees in Edinburgh a high of 12 in London. What a

0:02:30 > 0:02:30difference a week makes.
