:01:37. > :01:41.For the latest, I spoke to our Correspondent.
:01:41. > :01:45.The spokesman for the governor of Helmand province has now come out
:01:45. > :01:51.and he says that two rival Taliban commanders were responsible for the
:01:51. > :01:55.killing because they were both in love with the women who were killed.
:01:55. > :02:02.Birds that is information which is contradicted by tribal elders, as
:02:02. > :02:04.well as the district government. They told the BBC and use a party
:02:04. > :02:10.is taking place in which 15 men were being entertained by two
:02:10. > :02:16.female dancers. And that is why the Taliban insurgents came, according
:02:16. > :02:19.to the district governor. All of the 17, including the two women
:02:19. > :02:25.were beheaded and the bodies were taken to the does to governor's

:02:28. > :02:33.Ministry in Kabul released a statement this morning saying they
:02:33. > :02:37.were civilians and the Taliban were responsible for the killing.
:02:38. > :02:47.also, one report that the people were not fully beheaded. They had
:02:48. > :02:48.
:02:48. > :02:52.their throats slit. Well, again, according to the district governor,
:02:52. > :02:58.as well as tribal elders, they all said that all of the 17 were
:02:58. > :03:08.beheaded. And the victims had gunshot wounds as well as signs of
:03:08. > :03:15.beatings. What we can know for sure, but not confirm, is the exact
:03:15. > :03:19.details of what happened to all of them. All of these different Afghan
:03:19. > :03:23.officials are coming up with different information but the
:03:23. > :03:30.details coming out of the district, out of the tribal elders, as well
:03:30. > :03:38.as villagers, are all consistent. It's been a very typical day in
:03:38. > :03:43.Afghanistan. The Nato-led troops are of short and Afghan soldier.
:03:43. > :03:49.The precise details of all this is not clear. One Afghan spokesman
:03:49. > :03:51.said it was not intentional. He told a news conference that was an

:04:03. > :04:10.insurgent connection to the attackers in about 10% of the cases.
:04:10. > :04:16.And another 15% of the cases we expect an insurgent link with the

:04:31. > :04:33.violence has broken out in Syria today. By Rebels say they have shot
:04:33. > :04:35.down a government helicopter, forcing it to crash in a
:04:35. > :04:40.residential neighbourhood. Barbara Plett is following developments
:04:40. > :04:46.from Beirut. We have had reports from the state television and from
:04:46. > :04:50.the rebels that a helicopter has crashed and gone down in the
:04:50. > :04:56.district in Damascus. Now, the Government has not given any
:04:56. > :04:59.details, but rebels have claimed to have shot it down and the reports
:04:59. > :05:03.we are getting up the fighting in Damascus this morning is that there
:05:04. > :05:10.was heavy fighting in the district where the helicopters were engaged
:05:10. > :05:15.in bombarding the area, and then it seems to have been hit by some kind

:05:21. > :05:24.can't verify that part of the story, but whether it was hit or crashed,
:05:25. > :05:29.that is the story we are getting from the rebels. This fighting in
:05:29. > :05:33.Damascus has been going on now for more than a week. A heavy onslaught

:05:43. > :05:47.regarding the helicopter, a spokesman said it was shot down in
:05:47. > :05:51.revenge for that. Would it be surprising if rebels had the
:05:51. > :05:54.capacity to shoot down the Government helicopter? Well, I
:05:54. > :05:59.don't think it is a game changes. I'm not entirely sure it's the
:05:59. > :06:04.first time it has certainly the first time it has happened in
:06:04. > :06:08.Damascus. They do come in quite low, so are not as to double to shoot
:06:08. > :06:11.down as an aeroplane, of course. It's possible the rebels have
:06:11. > :06:17.missiles in the neighbourhoods of Damascus, that's nothing we can say
:06:17. > :06:20.for sure. But it certainly shows that, of course, remember they were
:06:20. > :06:26.claiming to have shot down a warplane in eastern provinces a
:06:26. > :06:29.couple of weeks ago. Again, they were using anti-aircraft artillery
:06:29. > :06:33.there but they are taken from the army and that plane, according to
:06:33. > :06:37.reporters, was flying very low and not expecting to be shot, so it
:06:37. > :06:40.involved a certain amount of luck, but every time and in Croft comes

:06:51. > :06:57.Now the business news. A big ongoing story, the eurozone. The
:06:57. > :07:01.numbers are creeping up on Germany. Be yes, the rot which starts in the
:07:02. > :07:06.peripheral a few years ago, it's really taken hold. We continued to
:07:06. > :07:10.see more and more evidence. We saw purchasing managers' numbers out of
:07:10. > :07:16.Germany out of the eurozone at the end of last week and it does not
:07:16. > :07:22.bode well but today we had another survey, a German business sentiment
:07:22. > :07:26.survey and very important. Again, like the P M I numbers, which we
:07:26. > :07:31.had at the end of last week, these are forward-looking numbers. They
:07:31. > :07:37.tell us whether people are optimistic or pessimistic. It is

:07:39. > :07:44.a 4th consecutive month to its lowest level since the beginning of
:07:44. > :07:49.2010. I think when you see these numbers and start here and the
:07:49. > :07:51.experts say they believe the German economy could start contracting, a
:07:51. > :07:56.shrinking go into negative territory, towards the end of this
:07:56. > :08:01.year, it doesn't bode well. That notion that the powerhouse of
:08:01. > :08:07.Germany, Europe's largest economy can sustain the problems and keep
:08:07. > :08:15.the rest of the region's head above water is out of the window at the
:08:15. > :08:18.moment but it's the political side of things. It's not inevitable of
:08:18. > :08:24.the such a long time, Spain. But this whole political uncertainty is
:08:24. > :08:27.why German business kids are having problems making any decisions.
:08:27. > :08:34.question is not how to solve the problems, but how to negotiate
:08:34. > :08:42.other conditions. This is not good if you are a company and want to

:08:47. > :08:52.put the German government have in some ways to try and help the

:09:06. > :09:11.guess, at the end of the day, if you had an unhealthy Europe, your

:09:15. > :09:22.if you look at the figures for the second quarter, you will see that
:09:22. > :09:29.the incoming orders also increased and the gross is mainly driven by
:09:29. > :09:35.by the domestic sector. Course it pretty clear that the structural
:09:35. > :09:40.reforms in countries like Spain and Italy need time and the German
:09:40. > :09:45.labour market reforms, for example, for two years to have an effect and
:09:46. > :09:53.now we have 1.5 billion less unemployed. So big problems at
