:03:13. > :03:26.This has been, you know, it has been too slow in development. We need to

:03:27. > :03:29.be much more responsive and dynamic to the needs of the economy right

:03:30. > :03:34.now, not just how they were six years ago. We do not need this.

:05:05. > :05:07.seized by Jersey Customs, This is the second time in just over

:05:08. > :05:14.a year that officers have impounded Guiletta had been at her new home

:05:22. > :05:23.by Jersey Customs for She had been initially let

:05:24. > :05:30.into the island last Sunday, when her family brought her over

:05:31. > :05:34.from Slovakia on a pet passport. Her owners claim they have

:05:35. > :05:37.all the correct documents and that Guiletta is

:05:38. > :05:41.an American Staffordshire Terrier. We have two options -

:05:42. > :05:48.send her back or give her to the animal shelter for four

:05:49. > :05:51.months, and after that people If you have children and they told

:05:52. > :05:58.you you can't have the children, you have to send them back

:05:59. > :06:01.or we will take from you, It's not just dog, it's

:06:22. > :06:24.that the dog was likely I have documents from her parents,

:06:25. > :06:31.she is American Staffordshire Veronika and her family will have

:06:32. > :06:35.to wait while investigations continue into whether or not

:06:36. > :06:49.Guiletta can return home. 23 people are being treated

:06:50. > :06:52.for eating disorders in Jersey. Now a new service has been launched

:06:53. > :06:55.for people with this condition, and other mental health issues,

:06:56. > :06:57.during Eating Disorder Week. Julie Flanagan has been to meet one

:06:58. > :07:00.young woman who says her experience Having lunch is something most

:07:01. > :07:04.people look forward to, She was diagnosed with anorexia

:07:05. > :07:10.when she was 15, and for nearly ten years she's been battling

:07:11. > :07:19.with the illness. I think a combination of things felt

:07:20. > :07:22.a bit out of control in my life, and I think I used anorexia just

:07:23. > :07:28.as a way, as something I could control, just me,

:07:29. > :07:32.and that my weight maybe was just one thing to focus,

:07:33. > :07:34.and just my diet. I mean, I didn't do it

:07:35. > :07:37.to lose weight, but I just, it was almost an achievement to see

:07:38. > :07:42.it go down. It's something that

:07:43. > :07:44.affects the whole family. For Amy's mother, knowing her

:07:45. > :07:47.daughter was ill and not knowing how I'd no reason to suspect anything

:07:48. > :07:56.like this would happen, and I was very scared,

:07:57. > :07:59.because I didn't know, you know, when something like this happens,

:08:00. > :08:01.I hadn't come across it before The Recovery College won't just help

:08:02. > :08:09.people like Amy and Karen. Figures suggest one in four people

:08:10. > :08:12.will have a mental health The charity wants to equip people

:08:13. > :08:19.with the skills to help themselves. Its courses are open to carers

:08:20. > :08:22.and support specialists as well, I think there's a lot

:08:23. > :08:29.of need for it. I think that mental health services

:08:30. > :08:33.are looking to become It's part of the mental health

:08:34. > :08:37.strategy, it's what people want, people have fed that back

:08:38. > :08:39.to the services, so we're fulfilling part of that need,

:08:40. > :08:43.and I think, you know, I've been unwell myself,

:08:44. > :08:45.and I know when I wasn't well there was nothing like this,

:08:46. > :08:48.and I had to figure And Amy and her mum will also be

:08:49. > :08:53.able to use their experiences to support others through the college

:08:54. > :08:56.and help them get the Parts of Elizabeth Castle

:08:57. > :09:05.unseen by the public since the occupation could be

:09:06. > :09:08.restored to their former glory. Jersey Heritage are launching

:09:09. > :09:10.a fundraising campaign to raise money and awareness for the work

:09:11. > :09:13.to go ahead on one of the island's There are 35 buildings

:09:14. > :09:18.in the castle grounds, and improving the attraction

:09:19. > :09:24.is a priority for the Trust. It's felt quite springlike today,

:09:25. > :09:27.but what will the weekend be like? David, will I be able

:09:28. > :09:41.to get out in the garden? I've got a funny feeling he will

:09:42. > :09:45.tell me I can't. No reason not to be in the garden, Alison, you just need

:09:46. > :09:49.the appropriate clothing, I think. It looks like it will be an

:09:50. > :09:57.unsettled weekend, some rain in the forecast, but also sometime, quite

:09:58. > :10:02.Rinju conditions as well. -- quite windy conditions. There is some

:10:03. > :10:06.clear sky here, perhaps heading your way later on tonight and more

:10:07. > :10:11.especially through the day tomorrow. As the area of low pressure moves

:10:12. > :10:15.further north, it allows this week reached to comment. Saturday isn't

:10:16. > :10:20.too bad. There will be showers around, but hopefully some sunshine.

:10:21. > :10:25.Sunday could be quite a wet morning. The rain moving fast. Then a gap,

:10:26. > :10:29.then a line of showers coming through in the afternoon. Some

:10:30. > :10:33.usable weather in between these lines of rain. One line of showery

:10:34. > :10:37.rain is nudging in from the West at the moment and giving as hefty

:10:38. > :10:43.downpours of frame for the next few hours. Eventually that band of cloud

:10:44. > :10:48.will move east. We are left with the clearer sky. Temperatures down into

:10:49. > :10:52.single figures, 6-7d. The risk of a shower through the night, but

:10:53. > :10:56.largely dry. Tomorrow, while there is a chance of a few showers, there

:10:57. > :11:00.is also a pretty good chance of seeing some sunshine. In between, I

:11:01. > :11:04.think a shower is going to spoil the day. Brisk westerly wind and 10

:11:05. > :11:06.degrees will be the maximum temperature. There are our times of

:11:07. > :11:19.high water. For our surfers, the waves are

:11:20. > :11:29.messy. Between three and five feet, pretty much messy. Quickly becoming

:11:30. > :11:34.westerly, north-westerly, visibility outside of the showers. I mentioned

:11:35. > :11:39.on Sunday one area of rain moving fast, then some bright weather, then

:11:40. > :11:41.showers. Plenty of showers on Monday, but at least temperatures or

:11:42. > :11:49.in double digits. Have a nice weekend. A quick recap of tonight's

:11:50. > :11:53.top story... A woman is to face trial for causing the death of a

:11:54. > :12:01.three-year-old boy by dangerous driving. There is more local News

:12:02. > :12:04.from 6am tomorrow morning. I will leave you now with Justin and

:12:05. > :12:13.Victoria and the rest of tonight's Bottom right.

:12:14. > :12:15.as part of a project which could help lead

:12:16. > :12:18.to their re-introduction to the wild in Britain.

:12:19. > :12:21.Researchers from Sweden have reared them for the last ten months

:12:22. > :12:24.and as Hamish Marshall reports, they'll study them whilst

:12:25. > :12:28.in captivity in Devon to better understand their behaviour.

:12:29. > :12:36.These ten-month-old European wolf cubs will be monitored

:12:37. > :12:40.in their new surroundings by experts from Sweden.

:12:41. > :12:44.The wolf is a really under-studied species because it's a very elusive

:12:45. > :12:46.and very fearful species, so it's very hard to conduct

:12:47. > :12:52.So having them like this is a great opportunity to get to know

:12:53. > :12:59.Christine and her colleagues have helped the wolves settle

:13:00. > :13:02.in as they want to work out how they compare to domestic dogs.

:13:03. > :13:06.We are very interested how behaviour has changed

:13:07. > :13:09.from when we domesticated the dog from the grey wolf at least 15,000

:13:10. > :13:16.years ago and we are interested in seeing if the similarities

:13:17. > :13:18.or the differences actually are there from the beginning,

:13:19. > :13:20.if they are born different or if there is something

:13:21. > :13:23.This was the animals at seven weeks old.

:13:24. > :13:26.They had been reared alongside puppies and it's not hard

:13:27. > :13:30.Just to prove the bond between the scientists

:13:31. > :13:32.and the wolves, the animals have actually been given names,

:13:33. > :13:41.We've got Elvis, Sting, Moby, PJ, KD and Lemmy -

:13:42. > :13:46.The scientific study is one part of the reason

:13:47. > :13:55.They haven't been wild in Britain for hundreds of years.

:13:56. > :14:00.Wolves in the wild could send a shudder down some peoples spines,

:14:01. > :14:04.It can indeed and that's part of the reason why we are doing

:14:05. > :14:08.There is a great deal of mythology surrounding wolves,

:14:09. > :14:11.they have had a real impact on our culture and now environment

:14:12. > :14:14.and they have acquired a reputation and much of that reputation

:14:15. > :14:21.These wolves will remain in quarantine for four months then

:14:22. > :14:23.visitors will get a chance to see them.

:14:24. > :14:26.And as for getting them into the wild in time,

:14:27. > :14:29.northern Scotland is the most likely location.

:14:30. > :14:37.Hamish Marshall, BBC Spotlight, near Honiton.

:14:38. > :14:42.We have posted that story on our Facebook page and it is getting a

:14:43. > :14:43.lot of reaction save you want to see what other viewers are making that

:14:44. > :14:44.go to our Facebook page. It's time for the sport now

:14:45. > :14:47.and there are some huge games Starting this evening

:14:48. > :14:52.with the Exeter Chiefs who travel to the Leicester Tigers tonight

:14:53. > :14:55.for a game which could be crucial in deciding who makes the end

:14:56. > :14:58.of season play offs, so they're planning

:14:59. > :15:00.to turn up the intensity Although undefeated in the top

:15:01. > :15:05.flight since the end of October, the Chiefs have spent the week

:15:06. > :15:07.gearing up for arguably one of the toughest tests

:15:08. > :15:10.on the Premiership calendar, and hope to build on last week's

:15:11. > :15:15.impressive victory over Newcastle. With a Six Nations break

:15:16. > :15:17.this weekend, the Chiefs side will include some

:15:18. > :15:20.of their internationals. They've only won once at the Tigers

:15:21. > :15:24.home since they made it into the Premiership and the Chiefs

:15:25. > :15:26.are well aware of the pressure they'll face under

:15:27. > :15:30.the floodlights this evening. Yeah, that's the thing,

:15:31. > :15:35.they have a big crowd and they are very passionate

:15:36. > :15:38.supporters, so they have a lot of support there, so it's about how

:15:39. > :15:44.you deal with it during the day. I think some of the younger kids

:15:45. > :15:49.might not be able to deal with it, where us older ones can sit back

:15:50. > :15:52.and relax and slowly build. Is it the be all and end all game,

:15:53. > :15:56.you know, is it all over for us in the top four if we don't win,

:15:57. > :15:59.well, of course it's not, you know, there's plenty

:16:00. > :16:01.of other fixtures and, you know, we are currently

:16:02. > :16:03.still second in the table but we would certainly like to go

:16:04. > :16:07.there and talk about paying in a way that gives us the opportunity to win

:16:08. > :16:11.the game and for me that's really what my focus has been on this

:16:12. > :16:14.week with the players. It hasn't been talking about what's

:16:15. > :16:17.going to happen in minute 78, minute 79, it's just talking

:16:18. > :16:19.about how we want to Kick off is at 7.45pm

:16:20. > :16:24.and there will be full commentary There's a full programme of rugby

:16:25. > :16:28.for the rest of the weekend. Plymouth Albion are at home

:16:29. > :16:30.to Hull and on Sunday Plymouth Argyle face a promotion six

:16:31. > :16:34.pointer at home to third Both sides have been

:16:35. > :16:40.in the automatic promotion places since September but both have

:16:41. > :16:43.suffered indifferent form in recent weeks with Argyle dropping ten

:16:44. > :16:46.points from the last twelve and the Cumbrians winning just

:16:47. > :16:49.two of their last ten. Derek Adams is hoping his side play

:16:50. > :16:53.a lot better than they did Yeah, I mean, we didn't play well

:16:54. > :16:58.enough on Tuesday night, we didn't cause Notts County enough

:16:59. > :17:02.trouble on their goal, we didn't pass with the fluidity

:17:03. > :17:07.that we have seen over the season and, you know, it was

:17:08. > :17:11.a disappointing result for us but we've moved on,

:17:12. > :17:15.we've got another big game this weekend, we had one last weekend

:17:16. > :17:18.against Luton away from home and now this weekend it's

:17:19. > :17:20.second against third. Sixth placed Exeter City

:17:21. > :17:23.were our only League Two side to win on Tuesday night when they beat

:17:24. > :17:25.Crawley Town 2-1. Tomorrow they take the best away

:17:26. > :17:28.record outside of the Championship on the 700 mile round trip

:17:29. > :17:32.to struggling Hartlepool If they win and other results

:17:33. > :17:38.go their way tomorrow they could go Here are all the fixtures -

:17:39. > :17:45.Yeovil are at home to Luton and Torquay have a relegation six

:17:46. > :17:48.pointer at home to fellow A 13-year-old boy from Bodmin has

:17:49. > :17:55.started his attempt to break a world Siam Juntakeret is going to try

:17:56. > :18:02.and cycle from east to west in 32 days, which would be a record

:18:03. > :18:06.for a child. He's completed day one, 95 miles,

:18:07. > :18:10.and given that they're 11 hours ahead should be getting ready

:18:11. > :18:14.to start day two very soon. Siam has three support riders

:18:15. > :18:17.with him, his Mum Tania and his coach, endurance athlete Bob

:18:18. > :18:20.Brown. An 11-year-old has completed

:18:21. > :18:32.the distance before, So, good luck to him. We will be

:18:33. > :18:37.following his progress. Amazing, ready. Quite hot down there at the

:18:38. > :18:42.moment. Apparently it is very hot and it has taken a couple of days to

:18:43. > :18:45.adjust to the temperatures. And no cheering of your favourite teams

:18:46. > :18:48.this weekend because of your voice! Just clapping! Take care.

:18:49. > :18:51.It's a big weekend in Cornwall - St Piran's Day is being celebrated

:18:52. > :18:54.on Sunday and pasty making skills are being put to the test.

:18:55. > :18:57.Nearly 200 of them will be made for a panel of judges to assess

:18:58. > :19:02.Amateurs and professionals will be competing for the coveted award.

:19:03. > :19:05.There are competitors from Camborne to Canada and Chile to Chacewater

:19:06. > :19:08.and they'll all be in the kitchens at the Eden Project.

:19:09. > :19:16.BBC Radio Cornwall's David White is there for us now.

:19:17. > :19:24.Yes, thank you Justin. I am down here at eight desert it Eden Project

:19:25. > :19:29.at the moment but tomorrow it is going to be packed with people for

:19:30. > :19:33.the World Pasty Championships. In the summer where I am now is

:19:34. > :19:37.normally the backstage area for the evening sessions but tomorrow it

:19:38. > :19:39.will be full of people eating pasties, drinking beer and watching

:19:40. > :19:43.what is going on on that stage down there. You can see the guys are

:19:44. > :19:59.discontinuing to break for tomorrow and on that stage you have got the

:20:00. > :20:03.whole range of music. I am going to be talking is a bit later on to two

:20:04. > :20:09.people who have come from across the Atlantic to try and take our awards

:20:10. > :20:10.back over to America and Canada but first here is somebody local who is

:20:11. > :20:12.also up for the challenge. Well, this is what we've

:20:13. > :20:14.all been waiting for, Look at that, beautiful and this

:20:15. > :20:18.is the pasty of Jeremy Brown This one actually isn't going in,

:20:19. > :20:23.Jeremy, is it, this is one you've brought down for me,

:20:24. > :20:25.so thank you very much for that. I made one in the batch

:20:26. > :20:28.for you, yes. I put a little D on it

:20:29. > :20:30.for you to make sure And do you know what the first thing

:20:31. > :20:35.I noticed about this pasty is where's the crimping

:20:36. > :20:37.around the edge? I think in North Cornwall we don't

:20:38. > :20:39.do a lot of crimping, we like a nice, my father always

:20:40. > :20:42.liked a nice light crimp because he didn't like too much

:20:43. > :20:45.pastry, so we keep it as light as possible, so I'm hoping

:20:46. > :20:48.to start a new trend. OK, now this pasty here is tomorrow,

:20:49. > :20:51.this will be where the check Now, your pasty last

:20:52. > :20:54.year got to this point Yeah, it has taken me this long

:20:55. > :20:59.to get over it to be honest I made two last year,

:21:00. > :21:03.I made a batch last year and I was really pleased with them,

:21:04. > :21:06.brought them down and they were too warm, they wouldn't go

:21:07. > :21:08.through the checking in process, so we took them around the car park

:21:09. > :21:12.for a bit of a walk, tried to cool them off a bit,

:21:13. > :21:15.still wouldn't go through, How are you this year, are you happy

:21:16. > :21:19.with this year's batch? No, they're not as good as last

:21:20. > :21:22.year's but I'm hoping that, you know, sometimes they might just

:21:23. > :21:24.sneak through, you know. All right, well good luck tomorrow

:21:25. > :21:27.with the pasties and also you're singing as well

:21:28. > :21:29.tomorrow, aren't you? Yeah, singing tomorrow at 4pm, yes,

:21:30. > :21:31.just before the final All right well fill

:21:32. > :21:35.yourself with some pasty, All right David,

:21:36. > :21:43.will do, all the best. well, this is what it is all about

:21:44. > :21:47.and you can probably see the issue here is that there are two pasties

:21:48. > :21:52.and three of us, so there will be an argument in a minute but that's talk

:21:53. > :21:56.to Mike who is from the junior. Now, you are coming over here trying to

:21:57. > :22:01.take our awards back! We will certainly give it a shot. We have

:22:02. > :22:06.brought over our best product. We will see what happens. Tell us about

:22:07. > :22:09.what you do in America because you obviously make traditional pasties,

:22:10. > :22:14.you are from over here, so how did it happen? I was working for a bank

:22:15. > :22:19.in Canary Wharf. I left with my American wife and my terms were that

:22:20. > :22:22.I was going to go and do what I wanted to do. I have always been in

:22:23. > :22:26.love with Cornwall and Cornish pasties and that is what I decided

:22:27. > :22:31.to do. At the other had anyone from Cornwall coming into your shop over

:22:32. > :22:38.there and eating your pasties? Certainly, the family from Michigan

:22:39. > :22:44.settled by Cornish people came in three generations, little old lady,

:22:45. > :22:49.85 years old, said she was going to test my pasties and give her

:22:50. > :22:55.opinion. I was scared! People know their pasties, trust me! They do!

:22:56. > :23:01.She gave me the big thumbs up so I was well happy. Let's talk to Matt

:23:02. > :23:04.who have got this award here, which is the pasty ambassador award from

:23:05. > :23:14.last. You want this last year. Why did you get it? I do a lot of

:23:15. > :23:17.promotion for pasties in Canada. It's pasties, people don't know what

:23:18. > :23:23.they are over there so it is a bit of an education process and I have

:23:24. > :23:26.15 different varieties of pasty, including the traditional one, too.

:23:27. > :23:30.Congratulations on that, good luck for the pasty Championships and they

:23:31. > :23:39.start tomorrow here at the Eden Project. It is a massive weekend for

:23:40. > :23:43.anybody from Cornwall. On Sunday it is St Piran's Day. Make sure you get

:23:44. > :23:48.your pasty ready for 9pm on Monday night for the Trelawney shout. You

:23:49. > :23:49.can have a singsong, drink a bit of beer in the pubs as well with

:23:50. > :24:03.everybody. St Piran's Day on Sunday. I think David put his hand up first

:24:04. > :24:10.ball that story, didn't he?! I don't blame him! -- his hand up fast for

:24:11. > :24:14.that story. Weather-wise, what will it be like?

:24:15. > :24:19.You will be a hot pasty this weekend. Not particularly good

:24:20. > :24:22.weather. There is some brightness, it would be raining all of the time

:24:23. > :24:27.but the rain will be heavy at times, so an unfettered weekend. Low

:24:28. > :24:31.pressure in charge. -- so an unpleasant weekend. There is also

:24:32. > :24:35.some sunshine in the forecast, I should add. When you look at the big

:24:36. > :24:40.satellite picture you can make out, well, what can you make out? Not a

:24:41. > :24:49.lot. Most of Western Europe covered in cloud but there is a hole in the

:24:50. > :24:53.cloud outfit to the West of us. That will -- brain will turn up and it

:24:54. > :24:57.will merge with this area of low pressure to get wet weather.

:24:58. > :25:01.It could be that the rain moves through quite fast. We get sunshine

:25:02. > :25:06.and showers following in. Monday next week another area of low

:25:07. > :25:12.pressure. That will be a bit of trouble because the exact position

:25:13. > :25:14.is uncertain. Let's look at the satellite picture in a bit more

:25:15. > :25:18.detail because there have been the showers around today. There are now

:25:19. > :25:23.holds in the cloud. Forecast overnight the night is to see holes

:25:24. > :25:28.developing in that cloud. This was earlier today down at the beach

:25:29. > :25:32.where the breeze was strong enough for the kite surfers to get out. EC

:25:33. > :25:41.is not at the moment, about or nine Celsius. The sea is not warm at the

:25:42. > :25:44.moment. About eight or nine Celsius. You need to know what you are doing

:25:45. > :25:47.if you are kite surfing in these conditions. Similarly if you are

:25:48. > :25:51.heading for the surf this weekend it will be messy indeed. There are some

:25:52. > :25:57.clear flop in the cloud and first thing tomorrow morning although it

:25:58. > :26:01.is a reasonably good start there will be some showers developing. --

:26:02. > :26:04.there are some clear spots in the cloud. Through the day tomorrow some

:26:05. > :26:08.sunny spells before shouts turn up and they may form lines and once

:26:09. > :26:13.they go through the sunshine will be back out and that is the way of it

:26:14. > :26:18.for much of it. -- some sunny spells before the showers turn up. Some

:26:19. > :26:21.wind coming in from the west. Possibly ten or 11 Celsius but it

:26:22. > :26:25.would feel as warm as that because of those brisk westerly winds. Here

:26:26. > :26:30.is the forecast for the Isles of Scilly. Quite windy here, patchy

:26:31. > :26:41.light rain. Sunny spells at times, too. Those are the times of high

:26:42. > :26:45.water. For our servers, I mentioned the surf, it is going to be messy

:26:46. > :26:51.for most beaches. -- for our surfers. The waves on the north

:26:52. > :26:53.coast and messy conditions, it is quite dangerous along the beach.

:26:54. > :27:04.There is the coastal waters forecast.

:27:05. > :27:10.Possibly even gale force around the Isles of Scilly later in the day. On

:27:11. > :27:14.Sunday, a windy day. One line of rain moves through, showers follow

:27:15. > :27:19.behind and the winds remain brisk and from the West in the second half

:27:20. > :27:23.of the weekend. Of the two days, probably Saturday that is the dryer

:27:24. > :27:30.of the two days. But whether on Monday. Have a nice weekend. Lucy

:27:31. > :27:37.will be here with a round-up of local politics on Sunday at 11am.

:27:38. > :27:38.We'll be back with the on Monday. In the meantime, thanks for joining us

:27:39. > :28:11.and have a good weekend. Good night. Cake-a-bake? Yeah.

:28:12. > :28:13.What is that? It's like bake a cake,

:28:14. > :28:14.but we flipped it. Oh, my God, we love flipping.

:28:15. > :28:17.Cake-a-bake. Cake-a-baking. I love it.

:28:18. > :28:20.I so love it when this happens. 15 celebrity acts

:28:21. > :28:24.are coming together to Sing And Dance

:28:25. > :28:26.For Comic Relief. # And the haters gonna

:28:27. > :28:30.hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
