:00:00. > :00:09.A dramatic increase in the number of teenagers taking

:00:10. > :00:24.Technically they are committing an offence but it is around the fact

:00:25. > :00:25.that an image probably never really goes away.

:00:26. > :00:27.Union workers may consider strike action over controversial pension

:00:28. > :00:30.Jersey Reds make history, securing a place in the British

:00:31. > :00:41.and Irish Cup final for the first time.

:00:42. > :00:47.And this is what we have to look forward to by the middle of the

:00:48. > :00:49.week, a big area of high pressure, some rain before that though. More

:00:50. > :00:54.details later. It's not only illegal

:00:55. > :00:56.but also very dangerous - that's the warning to young people

:00:57. > :00:59.by Jersey Police who've seen a rise The number of under-16s taking

:01:00. > :01:05.and sharing indecent images of themselves has more than tripled

:01:06. > :01:07.since last year. The act has also been

:01:08. > :01:09.linked to self-harm. Emma Chambers has this

:01:10. > :01:17.exclusive report. The digital age we live

:01:18. > :01:20.in has changed the way The increasing number of online

:01:21. > :01:25.social apps is making it easier than ever before to chat,

:01:26. > :01:28.flirt or send naked images It's illegal for under-16s

:01:29. > :01:34.and a growing concern for Jersey Police, who have seen

:01:35. > :01:36.cases rise from one But that figure has

:01:37. > :01:42.dramatically increased to 17 It appears now that young people,

:01:43. > :01:54.and there are many many cases of it and it's under reported as well,

:01:55. > :01:56.there's absolutely no doubt about that, will send an indecent

:01:57. > :01:59.image of themselves and we just really need to get the message

:02:00. > :02:01.across that, one, technically they are committing an offence but,

:02:02. > :02:04.two, it's around the fact that that image will probably

:02:05. > :02:14.never really go away. And it seems the drive among

:02:15. > :02:17.teenagers to have a huge online following increases the risk that

:02:18. > :02:19.that private picture will not only go viral but end

:02:20. > :02:21.up in the wrong hands. Taking Instagram for example,

:02:22. > :02:24.it's not uncommon for us to see a young person of 12 or 13

:02:25. > :02:26.with 50,000 followers. Young people have to be aware really

:02:27. > :02:30.of who they are talking too and quite often they are not,

:02:31. > :02:41.which is a real concern for us. How severe has some of the cases got

:02:42. > :02:44.when it comes to young people It can have absolutely

:02:45. > :02:47.devastating consequences. There are cases where there's been

:02:48. > :02:50.some significant self-harm and even in the worse case scenarios suicide

:02:51. > :02:53.as a result of people That's quite serious then and quite

:02:54. > :03:02.alarming to think that young people are finding themselves

:03:03. > :03:05.in these situations. It's absolutely frightening

:03:06. > :03:07.and that's why the advice we are giving is in the main please

:03:08. > :03:11.please do not do it. Although it is illegal,

:03:12. > :03:13.Jersey Police say they have taken the view that it is not

:03:14. > :03:15.in the public interest to criminalise under-16s

:03:16. > :03:18.caught sexting. But they fear it will be a growing

:03:19. > :03:22.problem, as more online social Well, earlier I spoke to Sarah Grey

:03:23. > :03:35.from the charity Love Matters, which advises schoolchildren

:03:36. > :03:52.on the topic of sexting, and asked It is primarily a secondary school

:03:53. > :03:56.age people and I would say it is usually from the age of 12, 13, our

:03:57. > :04:01.main age group that we see because we are trying to get in there before

:04:02. > :04:07.this starts happening, to equip them to respond when it does. What advice

:04:08. > :04:13.would you get? We would say think before you sent and remember what

:04:14. > :04:17.you send or share can become public or permanent so if you wouldn't want

:04:18. > :04:21.to print it and show it to everybody, perhaps it is something

:04:22. > :04:27.you shouldn't be sharing online. Also it is about all of us playing

:04:28. > :04:34.responsible Internet users so if you see something online think about how

:04:35. > :04:39.you would feel if it is year and if you would not like it shared around

:04:40. > :04:47.then think before you share it. What message for parents? I think it is

:04:48. > :04:50.about using moments such as these, having these conversations, opening

:04:51. > :04:54.dialogue with young people and making sure you have a culture of

:04:55. > :04:56.open communication at home so you can communicate and have

:04:57. > :05:01.conversations with young people about issues such as this. Ask them

:05:02. > :05:04.what they think about it and why they think people do it and how they

:05:05. > :05:09.think people can make positive choices.

:05:10. > :05:12.And we'll have more from Emma Chambers' exclusive report tomorrow,

:05:13. > :05:14.looking at the further implications and impact of sexting.

:05:15. > :05:16.A 59-year-old woman was rescued by helicopter at the weekend

:05:17. > :05:18.after falling 200 feet down cliffs in Jersey.

:05:19. > :05:20.The woman escaped with relatively minor injuries, and is now

:05:21. > :05:42.She was at Grosnez cliffs when she fell down onto the rocks.

:05:43. > :05:45.A 48 -year-old man has been remanded in custody on charges related

:05:46. > :05:51.to a burglary in Grouville last week.

:05:52. > :05:53.Matthew John Higham is accused of four offences which happened

:05:54. > :05:55.while the residents of the house slept upstairs.

:05:56. > :05:57.He's also accused of stealing a phone from the Airtel

:05:58. > :06:01.The case has been referred to the Royal Court.

:06:02. > :06:03.The leader of Britain's biggest trade union says strike action may

:06:04. > :06:06.be necessary in Guernsey, as a dispute continues over changes

:06:07. > :06:08.Len McCluskey is visiting the Channel Islands

:06:09. > :06:11.as he seeks re-election as General Secretary of Unite.

:06:12. > :06:13.Legal proceedings are due to re-commence next month over

:06:14. > :06:24.Thousands of people protesting on the streets

:06:25. > :06:26.of Guernsey over controversial plans to cut their pension benefits.

:06:27. > :06:29.After some negotiations the majority of unions accepted the terms

:06:30. > :06:32.and their members were moved from a final salary to a career

:06:33. > :06:35.average pension scheme, and that was that.

:06:36. > :06:40.In the room behind me the leader of Britain's biggest trade union

:06:41. > :06:46.Len Mcluskey says his union didn't accept the terms and that strike

:06:47. > :06:50.Once the meeting was over some Unite members

:06:51. > :07:04.told me what they hope will be achieved.

:07:05. > :07:13.You hope that people can get round the negotiation table but at the

:07:14. > :07:17.moment is is a legal issue. The states can alter their contracts

:07:18. > :07:19.without agreements and you can't do that the other way round.

:07:20. > :07:21.Unite's leader says he doesn't understand the States

:07:22. > :07:31.It is annoying to me and it puzzles me why many of the workers' writes

:07:32. > :07:37.that covered UK workers or the rest of Europe are not applicable here in

:07:38. > :07:39.Guernsey. Does the Chief Minister think that Guernsey workers are

:07:40. > :07:41.worth less? Legal proceedings are due

:07:42. > :07:43.to re-commence next The States of Guernsey say it

:07:44. > :07:46.would be inappropriate to comment In rugby, Jersey Reds have made

:07:47. > :07:55.history again as they booked a place in the British and Irish Cup final

:07:56. > :08:00.in Cork at the end of the month. The Reds won 25-17 against

:08:01. > :08:03.Championship leaders London Irish. Our reporter Julie Flanagan

:08:04. > :08:05.has the details of what Jersey arrived at the imposing

:08:06. > :08:13.24,000 seater Madejski Stadium But on this huge occasion

:08:14. > :08:19.for the club they didn't appear daunted by the ground

:08:20. > :08:22.or the opponents as Jordan Davies' try helped the Reds

:08:23. > :08:26.to a 10-7 lead by half time. Still much work to do though

:08:27. > :08:29.despite Nick Haining's score, as Irish edged back ahead

:08:30. > :08:33.going into the closing stages. With the chance to play

:08:34. > :08:36.for silverware on the line, and desperate to avoid a semifinal

:08:37. > :08:39.defeat for the second season in a row, Jersey

:08:40. > :08:43.rose to the challenge. Nick Selway's late try

:08:44. > :08:45.and Callum Sheedy's composure with the boot saw the islanders

:08:46. > :08:47.25-17 ahead and the The confidence from last week

:08:48. > :08:54.in just knowing we could get ourselves over the line carried

:08:55. > :08:57.through today I think because, as you know, in semifinals

:08:58. > :08:59.and knock-out rugby, it doesn't matter if you win by one

:09:00. > :09:02.point or ten points, Now Harvey Biljon's side will be

:09:03. > :09:08.away at Munster in less than three weeks' time for a final

:09:09. > :09:26.and the chance to make I am asking for all the fans, the

:09:27. > :09:30.first time we've ever done it, I am immensely proud of the team and the

:09:31. > :09:31.preparation, it has been fantastic. So the Reds go marching

:09:32. > :09:33.on as their brilliant season Menawhile in Netball,

:09:34. > :09:43.Jersey's Team Jets have been They lost 42-24 away

:09:44. > :09:49.to Premier Romans in their final game of the season to sink

:09:50. > :09:55.to the bottom of the table. I made the most of the sunny

:09:56. > :09:58.weekend, patio pressure washed David, do you have good news

:09:59. > :10:15.for for the Easter holidays? Just one day where it is not too

:10:16. > :10:20.great, a lot of cloud, could be a bit misty, a few spots of light rain

:10:21. > :10:24.or drizzle, but the main theme is of brightening up and fine dry weather

:10:25. > :10:31.and for the next few days we see high pressure coming. Early showers

:10:32. > :10:35.tomorrow and cloud for much of the day, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

:10:36. > :10:39.are dry and bright. Several weather systems overnight tonight, the first

:10:40. > :10:45.of which will give us a few splashes of rain, and around during the day

:10:46. > :10:53.tomorrow. Once they move away tomorrow, high-pressure comes in. If

:10:54. > :10:57.we were really picky, we could say it could be a little warmer.

:10:58. > :11:05.Overnight tonight, outbreaks of light intermittent rain, 8-9 the

:11:06. > :11:08.minimum temperature. It may brighten briefly tomorrow but a second

:11:09. > :11:13.weather system will introduce showers and perhaps more persistent

:11:14. > :11:21.rain stop it could be around for a good part of the day, misty

:11:22. > :11:32.conditions first thing. There are the times of high water. Quite big

:11:33. > :11:42.waves, winds coming from the north-west will develop quite a

:11:43. > :11:46.swell. Coastal waters forecast has the wind from the Northwest or North

:11:47. > :11:56.becoming north-easterly in the second part of the day. A small risk

:11:57. > :11:59.of some fog patches. By Wednesday, high-pressure unsettled weather. We

:12:00. > :12:03.will struggle with how much sunshine we see on Thursday and Friday. A lot

:12:04. > :12:08.of cloud but I think it will break up.

:12:09. > :12:10.Before we go, a reminder of our top story in

:12:11. > :12:21.Jersey police have seen a rise in reports of under 16 is taking and

:12:22. > :12:23.sharing indecent images of themselves, it has more than tripled

:12:24. > :12:25.in the past year. And if you have a story to share

:12:26. > :12:29.with us, do get in touch. E-mail us at bbccinews@bbc.co.uk

:12:30. > :12:31.or drop us a line on Until then, from me and the rest

:12:32. > :12:58.of the Channel Islands team, for people and pets is having

:12:59. > :13:15.to rebuild its business online, after hackers

:13:16. > :13:18.disrupted its website. I started my working life in a bank

:13:19. > :13:27.and I never envisaged painting This company's stock

:13:28. > :13:34.and trade is pretty offbeat, but it is a business just

:13:35. > :13:36.like any other. It's prone to the same risks

:13:37. > :13:40.and victim to the same setbacks, including interference

:13:41. > :13:44.with its website. Just on the screen was coming up

:13:45. > :13:47.a red circle with a line on it It has been quite stressful

:13:48. > :13:54.because obviously I have got to start at the bottom again now,

:13:55. > :13:58.so that means recreating a new website, recreating samples

:13:59. > :14:04.to go onto the website. This small company making

:14:05. > :14:07.personalised coffins is not on the high street like some

:14:08. > :14:10.retailers, so its website is its shop window, the gateway

:14:11. > :14:14.to business further afield from beyond its small

:14:15. > :14:18.premises in Bodmin. The original website,

:14:19. > :14:22.we had enquiries from all over England and they were shipped up,

:14:23. > :14:26.coffins were taken up by the courier, but now

:14:27. > :14:31.it's been taken down, it has made quite an

:14:32. > :14:34.impact on the business. The business is being

:14:35. > :14:36.relaunched with a new website Sue says she plans to monitor

:14:37. > :14:42.the page more closely. I can only do as much

:14:43. > :14:45.as I can to safeguard. We're actually putting

:14:46. > :14:48.it together ourselves, so we will be in control more and be

:14:49. > :14:54.able to back up and keep our own files, so it

:14:55. > :14:58.will be our responsibility. While it is not known how much

:14:59. > :15:01.trade was lost thorugh the interference with the web page,

:15:02. > :15:05.Sue is just hoping that her new site will be less of a target for hackers

:15:06. > :15:16.wherever they are in the world. Now a roundup of other stories

:15:17. > :15:33.making the news in the South West. Secretly found kicking hitting and

:15:34. > :15:34.stamping on a cow. Owen Nichol told the court he was absolutely

:15:35. > :15:40.disgusted with himself. Devon and Cornwall Police have

:15:41. > :15:42.welcomed a change in the law which means as from today,

:15:43. > :15:44.online grooming is Police can now arrest

:15:45. > :15:47.anyone who sends a sexual Over the last five years,

:15:48. > :15:51.in the South West there's been a 144% rise in incidents of abusers

:15:52. > :15:53.meeting children Dorset Police says it's one

:15:54. > :15:57.of the busiest forces in the country when it comes to dealing

:15:58. > :15:59.with incidents involving drones. Last year, there were 155 cases

:16:00. > :16:03.in Dorset, the sixth highest There were 110 incidents

:16:04. > :16:07.in Devon and Cornwall, but just six reported

:16:08. > :16:15.in Avon and Somerset. It's time for the sport now

:16:16. > :16:18.and there was plenty for football fans to get their teeth

:16:19. > :16:20.into this weekend. Yes, we're at the stage

:16:21. > :16:24.of the season where it's Exeter City have done

:16:25. > :16:27.themselves the world of good Plymouth Argyle were

:16:28. > :16:30.beaten and missed out I'm rubbish at maths,

:16:31. > :16:33.but Andy Birkett is not bad with a calculator,

:16:34. > :16:35.so it's over to him to see where things stand with six

:16:36. > :16:40.games left to play. I think my old maths

:16:41. > :16:43.teacher might disagree. It's never straightforward, is it,

:16:44. > :16:45.being a football fan? And I get the feeling

:16:46. > :16:48.there are going to be plenty of nervous moments

:16:49. > :16:50.still to come this season. The odds of promotion to League One

:16:51. > :16:53.are still well and truly in Plymouth Argyle's favour,

:16:54. > :16:55.despite this latest defeat against Accrington

:16:56. > :16:57.and it was another goal from a set The odds of a comeback

:16:58. > :17:02.weren't so good. This season, the Pilgrims have only

:17:03. > :17:05.won twice after conceding the first goal, although Anthony Sarcevic went

:17:06. > :17:09.close to a first half equaliser. Sadly it was the same

:17:10. > :17:12.story in the second half with the Accy keeper

:17:13. > :17:14.going above and beyond So where does that

:17:15. > :17:19.defeat leave them? The manager Derek Adams

:17:20. > :17:21.thinks their chances of winning the league are now over,

:17:22. > :17:23.but they're still in Despite a fourth defeat

:17:24. > :17:27.in their last six games at Home Park, they're still ten

:17:28. > :17:31.points clear of the play-off places So even if the chasing pack won

:17:32. > :17:35.all of their matches, three more wins for Argyle would be

:17:36. > :17:39.enough to guarantee League One It was another late show,

:17:40. > :17:47.this time against one of their near rivals Mansfield,

:17:48. > :17:49.which saw them take Trailing with a little

:17:50. > :17:53.over five minutes left, neat play on the edge of the box

:17:54. > :17:56.ended with Ryan Harley And then in the seventh

:17:57. > :18:00.minute of added time, Reuben Reid was bundled over

:18:01. > :18:03.for a penalty. The striker has developed a handy

:18:04. > :18:06.knack of scoring late goals recently It's incredible to think City

:18:07. > :18:12.were bottom of the football league Now they're in sixth and automatic

:18:13. > :18:17.promotion is still a possibility, but the play-offs looks

:18:18. > :18:20.to be their most likely Ten points separate ten teams

:18:21. > :18:27.all with promotion aspirations. What I do know is if they keep

:18:28. > :18:34.doing what they're doing, In the National League,

:18:35. > :18:39.relegation worries still haunt Torquay United after another

:18:40. > :18:42.defeat at Plainmoor. The Gulls had Myles Anderson sent

:18:43. > :18:45.off in the first half, but held on until the last ten

:18:46. > :18:47.minutes to concede The defeat sees them slip

:18:48. > :18:53.back into the drop zone. I'd like to end on a high,

:18:54. > :18:56.but unfortunately the Cornwall under-18s came up just short

:18:57. > :18:58.in the FA Youth Cup After going a goal behind early on,

:18:59. > :19:03.the highlight for the Cornish boys Unfortunately Middlesex hit

:19:04. > :19:09.back again to win 2-1. A quiet weekend for most

:19:10. > :19:18.of our rugby teams with no games for Exeter and the Cornish Pirates,

:19:19. > :19:21.but well done to Jersey, who, as I'm sure viewers,

:19:22. > :19:24.in the Channel Islands have already seen, have made it to the final

:19:25. > :19:27.of the British and Irish Cup. They beat London Irish

:19:28. > :19:29.yesterday and will now meet Plymouth Albion had

:19:30. > :19:32.a good weekend too - they made it ten wins on the trot

:19:33. > :19:35.when they beat bottom Congratulations to Devon's

:19:36. > :19:39.Heather Fell, the former Olympic Modern Pentathlon Silver

:19:40. > :19:42.medallist who has just taken part in an Ironman

:19:43. > :19:45.Challenge in South Africa. She completed the 2.5 mile swim,

:19:46. > :19:53.112 mile bike ride and the marathon run in ten hours 46 minutes

:19:54. > :19:59.which was under her target time. And she was still

:20:00. > :20:03.standing at the end! A sailor from Devon has been named

:20:04. > :20:06.as one of the 12 skippers taking part in the round the world Clipper

:20:07. > :20:08.Race. Rick Powell, along with 700 others,

:20:09. > :20:11.will embark on the challenge - thought to be the toughest ocean

:20:12. > :20:15.race - in August. He's taken time out from his

:20:16. > :20:30.preparations to join us Lovely to see you. Are you excited?

:20:31. > :20:38.Very excited. Is it something you have always wanted to do? It is. It

:20:39. > :20:44.has sowed a seed something I would like to do. Sailing the oceans, it

:20:45. > :20:50.is just fantastic, mother nature at her best. You will be away from home

:20:51. > :20:57.for a long time. The whole trip is 11 months. My family are with me,

:20:58. > :21:02.they will meet me on stop overs. Are they coming to the really glamorous

:21:03. > :21:10.ones? I bet they are, Sydney and Cape Town. The ones we know where we

:21:11. > :21:16.are stopping our Cape Town, Sydney, we will go up to China, across to

:21:17. > :21:26.Seattle and then on through the Panama Canal, down to these coast of

:21:27. > :21:30.America and then on to Londonderry. You have huge responsibility as a

:21:31. > :21:35.skipper because it can be very dangerous. There is a huge

:21:36. > :21:37.responsibility. It is something I do know but I have been heavily

:21:38. > :21:44.involved in the training of this year's crew and I firmly believe
