:00:54. > :00:58.His inquest closed today, ruling the cause of 20-year,old s

:00:59. > :01:03.Adrian's family say they "truly believe" it was an "unfortunate

:01:04. > :01:12.This was the moment Adrian Lynch was no longer missing.

:01:13. > :01:15.His body was found here at Handois reservoir on the 4th August

:01:16. > :01:20.by Jersey Water employees, dight months after he had disappe`red

:01:21. > :01:22.How or why the 20-year-old electrician ended up

:01:23. > :01:26.there after a work Christmas party was a mystery.

:01:27. > :01:29.And now, despite the inquest into his death being formally

:01:30. > :01:35.Adrian's family were here for the final hearing

:01:36. > :01:39.But the answers they were hoping for weren't delivered.

:01:40. > :01:43.They heard from Steven Milldr - the cab driver who picked Adrian up

:01:44. > :01:51.Mr Miller told Advocate Harris there was some confusion ovdr

:01:52. > :01:56.I did feel slightly responshble but didn't know what else to do

:01:57. > :01:59.He was quite firm about dropping him off at the road.

:02:00. > :02:02.Adrian's mother, Mameal, told Mr Miller - I want you to know

:02:03. > :02:07.The inquest heard that Jersdy Police had previously used specialhst

:02:08. > :02:10.equipment and recovery dogs to search the reservoir,

:02:11. > :02:14.but the deep water and limited access meant some areas werd unable

:02:15. > :02:20.to be properly searched, including the area where Adrian was found

:02:21. > :02:23.The forensic pathologist who carried out the postmortem told the inquest

:02:24. > :02:31.There was no evidence of injuries or third-party involvement.

:02:32. > :02:35.Dr Cook said there was no evidence to show that Ady was anywhere other

:02:36. > :02:39.than the reservoir for the dntire time he was missing.

:02:40. > :02:42.The Deputy Viscount summed tp Adrian's death as a tragic one.

:02:43. > :02:45.It's thought he lost his wax and possibly fell or stumbldd

:02:46. > :02:52.There's still lots of questhons unanswered, and no cause of death.

:02:53. > :02:54.Following today's verdict, Adrian's family released

:02:55. > :03:23.They say he will always be remembered for being a decent,

:03:24. > :03:32.funny, caring, hardworking, fun loving young man.

:03:33. > :03:35.Jersey's finance industry h`s hit back at claims the latest rdsearch

:03:41. > :03:42.Last week, figures showed the industry added ?14 billhon

:03:43. > :03:50.to the UK economy in 2015, but a tax campaigner has described

:03:51. > :04:11.The update published last wdek said that jersey economy benefitdd by ?14

:04:12. > :04:15.billion. It included money towards building bridges, warehouses and

:04:16. > :04:20.shopping malls. For the first time, the exercise was repeated looking at

:04:21. > :04:28.Josay's impact on the Europdan economies. The EU benefited by 80

:04:29. > :04:34.billion euros. Not all agred it is revealed the picture of how valuable

:04:35. > :04:38.temple is. It is more of a public relations exercise than a gdnuine

:04:39. > :04:44.work of economic analysis. We do not know what the origins of thd money

:04:45. > :04:48.are. Those huge sums of mondy flowing through Jersey and hnto

:04:49. > :04:55.Europe, we need to note is that many legitimate in origin? Has it been

:04:56. > :05:00.transferred legitimately? Is it going into legitimate investment?

:05:01. > :05:16.Clearly some are not convinced. Those behind the research are happy.

:05:17. > :05:19.Well Geoff Cook is the Chief Executive of Jersey Finance Limited

:05:20. > :05:23.He joined me in the studio earlier and I put it to him

:05:24. > :05:27.The first thing I would say is that it is not

:05:28. > :05:30.In that sense, it is not marketing or spin.

:05:31. > :05:32.It is an independent report by a firm called

:05:33. > :05:35.They advise governments, employ 60 economists.

:05:36. > :05:37.Five were here for nearly shx months compiling the report.

:05:38. > :05:39.It is a pretty thorough piece of work.

:05:40. > :05:42.Is that really beneficial to these economies?

:05:43. > :05:48.We provide through Jersey, attracting money from other parts of

:05:49. > :05:52.the world, in Jersey, it is packaged in the right vehicle

:05:53. > :06:01.In the UK's instance, that is 500 billion sterling.

:06:02. > :06:03.And in 5% of the foreign direct investment

:06:04. > :06:09.It means it is 5% of all the investment that comes

:06:10. > :06:17.It goes into things like warehouses, factories and offices.

:06:18. > :06:19.Real things, supporting the real economy.

:06:20. > :06:22.What the report doesn't show in as much detail is that there

:06:23. > :06:24.is value for Jersey is well and this.

:06:25. > :06:27.We are supporting a quarter of the jobs

:06:28. > :06:33.The value of drugs seized in Jersey has trebled over

:06:34. > :06:38.Jersey police and customs officers found one point three million pounds

:06:39. > :06:43.worth of illegal drugs in 2014 so far this year they've

:06:44. > :06:51.seized three point eight million pounds worth.

:06:52. > :06:53.In that time 22 people have been accused of drugs

:06:54. > :06:55.trafficking offences, most of them were Jersey residents -

:06:56. > :06:58.and three of them were under the age of 18.

:06:59. > :07:00.Guernsey Police have confirled the body found in Beaucette Marina

:07:01. > :07:02.earlier this week is that of William Machay.

:07:03. > :07:05.The body of the 59-year-old was discovered in the water early

:07:06. > :07:08.He's not from Guernsey and his family have been told.

:07:09. > :07:21.The police are not treating his death as suspicious.

:08:07. > :08:12.In Guernsey, there's about ` dozen medical emergencies each dax.

:08:13. > :08:15.But the job of those taking the calls and the systems

:08:16. > :08:18.Once we have the address, we will verify it.

:08:19. > :08:21.And this week, two of the London ambulance team have been

:08:22. > :08:34.We have been over here to mdntor the staff, observe, share

:08:35. > :08:39.It is just making sure that they know they have also bought.

:08:40. > :08:46.Only one call at a time, and that is the same in London.

:08:47. > :08:50.Next the staff swap will happen the other way round.

:08:51. > :08:53.It will be useful for them to go back to London and experience

:08:54. > :08:55.the control centre there with the volume

:08:56. > :09:01.it's hoped they'll be better equipped to respond to medical
