:00:25. > :00:27.The Learjet he is being flown home on is due to land at Exeter.

:00:28. > :00:33.When the Learjet lands at Exeter Airport in just

:00:34. > :00:36.over an hour's time, a family friend has told us that

:00:37. > :00:40.Chris Tester will be flown by air ambulance here to Derriford Hospital

:00:41. > :00:45.There is a chance that the plane might land at Southampton Airport

:00:46. > :00:48.instead due to logistical reasons, but that decision will

:00:49. > :00:53.Now, family friend Charlotte Williams has told us that Chris's

:00:54. > :00:58.He has been taken out of the induced coma

:00:59. > :01:07.All of this is obviously costing a lot and Chris had no insurance.

:01:08. > :01:13.A crowdfunding page which was set up raised over ?103,000

:01:14. > :01:17.to pay for these costs and as to what happened,

:01:18. > :01:19.we understand that Chris interrupted the robbery

:01:20. > :01:24.His parents were in the middle of handing over cash.

:01:25. > :01:33.He went to shield his mum and that was when he was shot in the head.

:01:34. > :01:36.Two brand new villages are to be built in Devon and Cornwall in plans

:01:37. > :01:38.which have been signed off by the government today.

:01:39. > :01:41.The so-called Garden Villages are proposals to tackle a housing

:01:42. > :01:45.shortage, with Taunton also set to see its community expand.

:01:46. > :01:49.The plans include 1,500 homes at West Carclaze near St Austell,

:01:50. > :01:53.5,000 homes next to the M5 at Cullompton, and 8,000 homes

:01:54. > :02:00.The government is providing ?6 million nationally

:02:01. > :02:02.to develop the proposals, but, as John Henderson reports,

:02:03. > :02:08.they'll still have to get planning permission.

:02:09. > :02:12.Moss and heather and not a backyard in sight,

:02:13. > :02:17.but soon there could be 1,500 back gardens here as this barren

:02:18. > :02:25.The housing area will go adjacent to the main road,

:02:26. > :02:28.along the strip here with the school behind behind the Sky Tip,

:02:29. > :02:32.which will be retained as part of the extensive heritage park.

:02:33. > :02:35.This is West Carclaze of old, in the hey day

:02:36. > :02:42.Today, all that's left are ponds, scrubland and towering waste heaps.

:02:43. > :02:47.Some feared it would disappear in the scheme.

:02:48. > :02:52.It is a fundamental part of the plan and it will remain as part

:02:53. > :02:56.People were concerned about when the school

:02:57. > :03:00.We said it would be developed right from the very start,

:03:01. > :03:02.People were concerned about employment.

:03:03. > :03:04.There are now plans in place for an employment park,

:03:05. > :03:08.which has now got European funding, so that is good news.

:03:09. > :03:10.We have tried to look at all the aspects that

:03:11. > :03:12.people have been concerned about and try to address them

:03:13. > :03:17.It is not the only garden village planned for the region.

:03:18. > :03:20.Combe in Devon, alongside the M5, will effectively see

:03:21. > :03:25.It's near a motorway, it's near a railway line.

:03:26. > :03:31.If you are going to have growth and improvements to towns and areas,

:03:32. > :03:34.these are the best sort of places to put them.

:03:35. > :03:36.There will be a garden town near Taunton.

:03:37. > :03:39.This is what that development looks like.

:03:40. > :03:42.These are the plans for Cornwall's Garden Village.

:03:43. > :03:45.There have been plans for homes on these old China clay pits

:03:46. > :03:49.for the best part of ten years, but this Garden Village idea now

:03:50. > :03:52.has government backing, but that doesn't mean to say

:03:53. > :03:55.It still needs planning permission and that will give

:03:56. > :04:06.Patients undergoing cataract surgery at the Royal Eye Infirmary

:04:07. > :04:09.at Derriford Hospital can now benefit from a new

:04:10. > :04:15.It's only available in a few centres around the world and is operated

:04:16. > :04:21.by foot showing the surgeon exactly where to cut.

:04:22. > :04:25.Well, it obviously makes my job less difficult and the results

:04:26. > :04:28.for the patients are more standardised and hopefully

:04:29. > :04:31.the outcomes will be better and they can see much better,

:04:32. > :04:34.more quickly and hopefully less reliant on thicker glasses

:04:35. > :04:42.Just time for a look at the weather forecast with Ian ferguson.

:04:43. > :04:47.particularly up towards north and eastern parts

:04:48. > :04:51.we see a Met Office warning for parts of east and north-east

:04:52. > :04:54.Devon, Somerset and Dorset where

:04:55. > :04:57.temperatures will be dropping easily low enough with some more frost

:04:58. > :05:01.around to give a threat of some more slippery surfaces.

:05:02. > :05:04.Temperatures widly getting down to freezing or

:05:05. > :05:06.below in these districts and in some areas,

:05:07. > :05:08.Yeovil Town, for example, we

:05:09. > :05:12.Not so down towards the very south-west nor indeed out towards

:05:13. > :05:15.Could be the odd patch of freezing fog around

:05:16. > :05:17.tomorrow, most areas could be clear of that.

:05:18. > :05:20.A good deal of sunshine through the course of the morning

:05:21. > :05:22.and then a general trend to see a bit more

:05:23. > :05:23.cloud around, albeit in a

:05:24. > :05:26.patchy fashion throughout the afternoon, but eventually by the

:05:27. > :05:29.tail end of the day, thicker cloud is coming in from the north.

:05:30. > :05:30.It could conceivably bring a few spots

:05:31. > :05:33.of light rain starting to get into the likes of Exmoor.

:05:34. > :05:35.Temperatures tomorrow eventually getting as high

:05:36. > :05:38.as 6-8 Celsius for the majority of us and through the rest

:05:39. > :05:42.but the first appreciable rain comes Friday.

:05:43. > :05:53.More on your BBC local radio station tomorrow morning. From all of us

:05:54. > :06:09.here, good night. Good evening. It's been a dry and

:06:10. > :06:13.bright day across most parts of the country today. Despite the chilly

:06:14. > :06:22.feel to the weather, there has been some sunshine. Clear skies as the

:06:23. > :06:25.sun set in east Essex. With those clear skies around, temperatures are

:06:26. > :06:29.plummeting, particularly across southern parts. Here we see the

:06:30. > :06:32.coldest temperatures. We could see icy stretches on untreated surfaces,

:06:33. > :06:39.pavements and roads first thing Tuesday morning. Not quite as cold

:06:40. > :06:40.towards the North West. Cloud moving in here through the
