:01:27. > :01:28.need our attention - persistent criminals,
:01:29. > :01:32.Very pleased with the reduction in domestic violence.
:01:33. > :01:34.That's shown that our education programme has gone well over
:01:35. > :01:37.the past two or three years, we've inspired confidence in victims
:01:38. > :01:44.to come to us and I think we're now changing behaviours.
:01:45. > :01:45.And the figures seem to support that.
:01:46. > :01:48.Last year there were just under 3,000 overall crimes reported -
:01:49. > :01:55.Reported domestic assault fell 14%, but a domestic abuse charity says
:01:56. > :02:03.You're actually talking about just victims who have come forward
:02:04. > :02:05.and reported the incident to the police, and that incident has
:02:06. > :02:14.So you're not talking necessarily about all the reported incidents,
:02:15. > :02:17.just recorded crime, and on top of it you're not talking
:02:18. > :02:20.about all the incidents that have not been reported to the police,
:02:21. > :02:22.and the majority of our clients decide not to report
:02:23. > :02:29.So it seems, while the lower crime figures are encouraging,
:02:30. > :02:31.the police have their work cut out in reaching every
:02:32. > :02:40.A Nursing and Midwifery Council hearing into the death of a baby
:02:41. > :02:42.in Guernsey has been adjourned until tomorrow.
:02:43. > :02:44.Three women who worked as midwives at Guernsey's Princess Elizabeth

:04:29. > :04:30.would not be able to leave without registering

:04:33. > :04:35.Guernsey's Housing Control says the company involved had contacted
:04:36. > :04:40.And the police say that items were being transferred from one
:04:41. > :04:48.vehicle to another but that no offences were committed.
:04:49. > :04:51.Jersey's iconic cows are renowned for their rich milk and dairy
:04:52. > :04:53.products and now their pedigree goodness will help transform
:04:54. > :05:00.Cows in Rwanda will be cross-bred with Jersey's to produce a cow that

:05:43. > :05:47.These first crosses of a pure Jersey bull to Rwandan cattle have produced
:05:48. > :05:54.some really good adaptable cattle for what they want in that country.
:05:55. > :05:56.They're popular because they produce more milk and don't
:05:57. > :06:00.The calves bred from the Jersey pedigree will help 12,000 small
:06:01. > :06:02.scale Rwandan farmers to feed their families
:06:03. > :06:04.and still have enough milk, butter and cheese to sell.
:06:05. > :06:11.Rwandan farmers will also be trained to breed cows.
:06:12. > :06:13.Rwanda is still an incredibly poor country and we're hoping that
:06:14. > :06:16.a project such as this is going to improve the lives
:06:17. > :06:31.of Rwandans, it's going to bring entire villages out of poverty.
:06:32. > :06:35.A delegation from Rwanda is visiting the island to learn how the herd has
:06:36. > :06:36.been built up over generations and find out about
:06:37. > :06:40.For dairy farmers here, all the attention is very flattering.

:08:20. > :08:22.Saint Saviour's reservoir is one of 17 storage reservoirs that we've
:08:23. > :08:25.got and it is only about a quarter of our total storage capacity.
:08:26. > :08:28.As I say, we are at 79% full across all of those storage resources.
:08:29. > :08:42.We are reasonably comfortable for this time of year.
:08:43. > :08:45.After a dry spell, we've seen some rain in the islands today.
