:00:15. > :00:23.The police say the chances of finding her alive are slim.

:00:24. > :00:33.The hypothesis at this time is that something has happened to Bowery,

:00:34. > :00:38.some accident or misadventure. -- to Bowery. -- Valerie.

:00:39. > :00:40.Good evening and welcome to the late news

:00:41. > :00:42.from BBC Channel Islands. I'm Alison Moss.

:00:43. > :00:43.Also tonight: The row crossing the Channel

:00:44. > :00:46.between park home residents and their Guernsey-based owner.

:00:47. > :00:48.The search will resume in the morning

:00:49. > :00:55.for a missing 75-year-old woman in Jersey.

:00:56. > :01:03.at Devil's Hole on Friday - after telling her family

:01:04. > :01:07.After three days of searching the police

:01:08. > :01:10.admit the chances of finding her alive are slim.

:01:11. > :01:16.It's day four, and Jersey Police have widened their search area,

:01:17. > :01:19.scouring fields near Devil's Hole for any signs of Valerie Jehan.

:01:20. > :01:21.Officers believe her mobile phone is still in this area.

:01:22. > :01:24.But, so far, no trace of the 75-year-old has been found,

:01:25. > :01:26.and there hasn't been a single sighting of her.

:01:27. > :01:29.Because we've had no other sightings or information to go on,

:01:30. > :01:36.our hypothesis at this time is that something has happened to Valerie

:01:37. > :01:39.very soon after she got off the bus, otherwise we would have expected

:01:40. > :01:43.Valerie can be seen here on a bus from West Park to Devil's Hole

:01:44. > :01:50.She checked the destination with the driver as she boarded.

:01:51. > :01:51.And had told her family she was going for a walk.

:01:52. > :01:57.She got off the bus in the pub car park just behind me,

:01:58. > :02:03.and then walked up these steps, heading to the main road.

:02:04. > :02:05.But from here there are several routes she may have taken,

:02:06. > :02:08.including the coastal path or even back the way she came.

:02:09. > :02:09.Throughout the weekend, searches were carried out

:02:10. > :02:14.Both a light aircraft and a helicopter were used

:02:15. > :02:16.to look for Valerie, while a drone was also put up

:02:17. > :02:22.But it's now been more than 72 hours since she went missing.

:02:23. > :02:31.Given that we have a 75-year-old lady in a difficult environment,

:02:32. > :02:34.on the north coast, and given the horrendous weather

:02:35. > :02:38.we've had over the weekend, after you get past that 72-hour

:02:39. > :02:41.limit, then the chances of finding her alive continue

:02:42. > :02:49.Officers are urging anyone who was in the area between

:02:50. > :02:51.12 and 6pm on Friday to come forward.

:02:52. > :02:53.Jessica Banham, BBC Channel Islands News, Jersey.

:02:54. > :02:55.A 72-year-old Alderney resident has died

:02:56. > :02:58.after crashing his toboggan on the Cresta Run in Switzerland.

:02:59. > :03:00.Ralph Hubbard had successfully completed

:03:01. > :03:04.the notoriously dangerous descent many times before.

:03:05. > :03:07.Toboganners can reach speeds of up to 80 mph on the run.

:03:08. > :03:09.Mr Hubbard's eldest son has described his father

:03:10. > :03:14.as an adventurer who lived life to the full.

:03:15. > :03:16.A Guernsey based businessman is being accused of unfair practices

:03:17. > :03:20.by dozens of mobile park home residents in the UK.

:03:21. > :03:22.They say they're being exploited because of special terms

:03:23. > :03:26.in contracts signed by Barry Weir, who lives in St Peter Port.

:03:27. > :03:29.But he insists it's nothing to do with him.

:03:30. > :03:43.She lives on Marigold Park in Bognor Regis.

:03:44. > :03:45.One of six parks owned by Silver Lakes

:03:46. > :03:47.Property Investments Limited which is co-owned

:03:48. > :03:51.and run by this man, Barry Weir.

:03:52. > :03:57.In the UK, park home residents own their home

:03:58. > :04:10.They pay a pitch fee to cover the upkeep of communal areas.

:04:11. > :04:12.However, here at Marigold, residents like Rose

:04:13. > :04:14.are constantly being hit with extra charges.

:04:15. > :04:17.Sometimes I could sit here and cry, what have

:04:18. > :04:28.We have heard from dozens of people living across all six parks

:04:29. > :04:32.and they are having the same problems as Rose.

:04:33. > :04:34.That's because Barry Weir's contracts contain

:04:35. > :04:36.unique clauses that some MPs say are unfair.

:04:37. > :04:39.It is clear some park home residents are being exploited by intimidation,

:04:40. > :04:44.bullying, costs, fees which are not justified.

:04:45. > :04:47.Here in West Sussex, they pay one of the highest pitch fees in

:04:48. > :04:53.Yet they still have to pay for the communal upkeep

:04:54. > :04:57.You get a letter to say you owe this money.

:04:58. > :05:01.Being as my husband is quite ill come he doesn't want any worry,

:05:02. > :05:10.We wanted to put our allegations to Barry Weir directly

:05:11. > :05:20.but we kept being told the parks were nothing to do with him.

:05:21. > :05:25.Can I ask you about the contracts you have

:05:26. > :05:28.between yourself and the residents of your mobile park homes?

:05:29. > :05:31.The lease, the freehold land is owned by

:05:32. > :05:33.Silver Lakes property investments of which I am a director.

:05:34. > :05:36.It is leased to a company who have the contracts.

:05:37. > :05:46.I am sorry, I am going home, goodbye everybody.

:05:47. > :05:49.There we go, Barry Weir, the man who has nothing to do

:05:50. > :05:57.whatsoever with those mobile park homes.

:05:58. > :05:59.The number of holiday makers visiting Jersey has increased

:06:00. > :06:06.Last year more than 350,000 visitors stayed on the island -

:06:07. > :06:12.But the there was a drop in day-trippers

:06:13. > :06:15.Earlier, the Chief Executive of Visit Jersey explained

:06:16. > :06:25.The flights between Guernsey and Jersey were down 18%,

:06:26. > :06:30.and uncertainty in France, a combination wide those visitors

:06:31. > :06:44.A certain area you would like to see grow, and will you have discussions

:06:45. > :06:53.with the transport industry to get those places back? Will working now

:06:54. > :06:57.with French Condor, we are seeing bookings already ahead of last year

:06:58. > :07:03.from France with the French visitors coming for a stable leisure visit as

:07:04. > :07:10.opposed to a day visit. And we need to be working harder to tell our

:07:11. > :07:15.story out there in France. In Germany we saw 6% growth last year.

:07:16. > :07:20.I am in Germany tomorrow. We are meeting lots of cool operators to

:07:21. > :07:28.continue growing the market in 2017. -- tour operators. Is this a trend

:07:29. > :07:32.that you see increasing? We've had a three-year increase. It is the best

:07:33. > :07:34.for five years. This is where we concentrate our efforts as the

:07:35. > :07:36.tourist board in Jersey, our main tourist board in Jersey, our

:07:37. > :07:41.effort is to get tourists to come effort is to get tourists to come

:07:42. > :07:42.here and contribute to what we call the visitor economy. It is a

:07:43. > :07:51.reflection of all the hard work that reflection of all the hard work

:07:52. > :07:53.many people are doing in Jersey. many people are doing in Jersey.

:07:54. > :07:57.took a big step last year when you took a big step last year when you

:07:58. > :08:06.went digital only. The visit Jersey campaign was very different. Are you

:08:07. > :08:12.seeing any results from that? In terms of visits to the website we

:08:13. > :08:17.are seeing 80% plus growth from the UK, for example. That is phenomenal.

:08:18. > :08:22.But what are they doing on the website? We see over 100,000

:08:23. > :08:30.referrals from the visit Jersey website through to our island

:08:31. > :08:32.suppliers, hotel companies etc. So they are getting increasingly large

:08:33. > :08:40.amounts of potential business flowing through to them. And indeed,

:08:41. > :08:45.digital is the main, but we're still working when what is called

:08:46. > :08:49.traditional media. We're still putting adverts in local newspapers

:08:50. > :08:51.with various partners around the UK. What we have done is that we have

:08:52. > :08:54.put the emphasis into digital. Let's take a look at

:08:55. > :09:03.the weather with David Braine. Good evening. Some slightly less

:09:04. > :09:09.cold air heading our way. By the end of the day, we will see temperatures

:09:10. > :09:13.back up to 13, possibly 14 Celsius. At the moment we have some

:09:14. > :09:17.relatively cold air are still across oss, by the end of tomorrow we will

:09:18. > :09:23.see some rain turn up. This weather is unsettled but it is milder with

:09:24. > :09:28.some rain forecast. The first of those changes with this warm front

:09:29. > :09:30.arriving later in the day tomorrow. Making erratic progress, eventually

:09:31. > :09:34.bringing rain and higher temperatures. The air is now coming

:09:35. > :09:40.from down here towards the Azores. Slightly warmer air heading our way

:09:41. > :09:43.over the next few days. In witness the afternoon it will be a bit

:09:44. > :09:49.brighter. Maybe briefly some sunshine. Then more drizzle and low

:09:50. > :09:53.cloud appearing on Thursday into Friday. But the source of the air is

:09:54. > :09:57.much further south so hopefully, we will see higher temperatures.

:09:58. > :10:01.Overnight tonight, we will see still quite chilly conditions with that

:10:02. > :10:07.brisk north-westerly wind fading by the morning with six Celsius the

:10:08. > :10:12.minimum temperature. And tomorrow we expect to see some hazy sunshine but

:10:13. > :10:14.by the end of the morning sun spots of Brazil, becoming more widespread

:10:15. > :10:18.and heavier by the end of the afternoon. Brisk southerly winds

:10:19. > :10:26.with temperatures back into double figures. The source of the warm air

:10:27. > :10:29.is down the above Spain and Portugal. At least those

:10:30. > :10:35.temperatures rise as some of that this drag across oss. We will find

:10:36. > :10:40.those temperatures rising as we head through to the end of the week.

:10:41. > :10:47.night. That's all the news for this night. That's all the news for this

:10:48. > :10:54.Monday night. Your next news Billiton is at 6am from radio Jersey

:10:55. > :10:56.and radio Guernsey. We're back tomorrow night at 6:30pm. Until

:10:57. > :11:01.then, it's good night from me. cool, it will be windy at times as

:11:02. > :11:04.well and still rather unsettled with some blustery showers around. That's

:11:05. > :11:06.the London forecast and now for the National forecast, over to Nick

:11:07. > :11:19.Miller. North-west France and Plymouth were

:11:20. > :11:24.miles apart weather-wise. This southern flank in north-west France

:11:25. > :11:28.there was a wind gusts of 120 mph which we just dodged. That area of

:11:29. > :11:32.low pressure continues to move quickly south-eastwards so that by

:11:33. > :11:36.tomorrow it is in Italy on its southern flank, stormy in Sardinia

:11:37. > :11:40.and around it strong winds blowing through south-east France. We've got

:11:41. > :11:44.a little bump in the ice bars with lighter winds, a brief ridge of high

:11:45. > :11:47.pressure, things briefly settled going into tomorrow, overnight there

:11:48. > :11:50.are some showers around moving through western Scotland and

:11:51. > :11:55.north-west England and the Midlands, clearing Wales, one or two in the

:11:56. > :11:57.east, the North Sea tip of high pressure, things briefly settled

:11:58. > :12:00.going into tomorrow, overnight there are some showers around moving

:12:01. > :12:01.through western Scotland and north-west England and the Midlands,

:12:02. > :12:02.clearing
