:00:43. > :00:47.The Health Minister wants to change the law to allow GP's to train

:00:48. > :00:50.at surgeries on island before they qualify, so they can fill posts

:00:51. > :00:57.It takes years of study and training to become a doctor,

:00:58. > :01:00.and would-be GPs have gone to the UK or further afield before

:01:01. > :01:06.In Jersey, work is being done to attract the next oration

:01:07. > :01:09.of doctors, and make sure they're ready to fill the shoes of GPs

:01:10. > :01:23.We know that eventually older GPs will be retiring.

:01:24. > :01:25.From experience, we are training nurses locally, that

:01:26. > :01:27.if you train them luckily, they tend to stay locally.

:01:28. > :01:30.But we have no provision for training GPs at the present

:01:31. > :01:32.time, other than the rotational, where they get a tasting

:01:33. > :01:35.So it's absolutely about succession planning for GP

:01:36. > :01:45.Trainee doctors would work alongside qualified GPs developing

:01:46. > :01:52.But seeing a trainee would not mean a cut-price appointment.

:01:53. > :02:00.When you have a trainee, they had to be closely supervised.

:02:01. > :02:04.So it is not that they would be charged less, no.

:02:05. > :02:06.GPs in Jersey nurture the relationship tween

:02:07. > :02:08.doctor and patience, and it is hoped these values

:02:09. > :02:23.will appeal to the next generation of doctors.

:02:24. > :02:29.It's nice for them to get a taste of how we do things here.

:02:30. > :02:31.It's suddenly old-fashioned, but in my view, much better

:02:32. > :02:35.It is hoped that by allowing the doctors of the future

:02:36. > :02:37.to hone their skills on the islands, any potential problems

:02:38. > :02:41.Guernsey's airport declared a full emergency this morning

:02:42. > :02:44.when a private plane reported smoke in its cockpit.

:02:45. > :02:48.The single engine aircraft was flying from the UK to Jersey

:02:49. > :02:51.when it had to make an emergency landing in Guernsey.

:02:52. > :02:53.The Airport's General Manager said the plane arrived safely

:02:54. > :03:00.Jersey voters can have their say on the island's proposed

:03:01. > :03:06.The creation of six so-called "super constituencies" will be debated

:03:07. > :03:12.But a scrutiny panel is holding meetings ahead of that to find out

:03:18. > :03:24.Jersey's States garden nursery, which was considered as a potential

:04:45. > :04:47.a 7% increase in visitors, with just over 2000 more people

:04:48. > :04:56.The number of visitors visiting by sea has increased.

:04:57. > :04:58.The economic development committee was cautious

:04:59. > :05:04.Some really good increases this year, but on the refer back to 2015,

:05:05. > :05:10.Some say that transport remains a concern.

:05:11. > :05:20.The loss of GDP to the island is entirely significant.

:05:21. > :05:28.From the bar 2014, it is over 40,000 passengers.

:05:29. > :05:31.If you asked for the development in GDP terms, it is around ?500.

:05:32. > :05:34.That puts the GDP value at around ?20 million.

:05:35. > :05:36.This coincides with Sark's greatest tourism survey.

:05:44. > :05:49.of a new ferry, the Bailiwick's heading in the right direction.

:06:04. > :06:08.Frank Le Villio was deported during the occupation

:06:09. > :06:12.for taking a joyride on a German officers motorbike.

:06:13. > :06:20.He died in England in 1946 from tuberculosis.

:06:21. > :06:22.Mr Le Villio was buried in a pauper's grave.

:06:23. > :06:26.The Constables of St Helier and St Saviour hope to bring him

:06:27. > :06:28.back home, but it could be a difficult process

:06:29. > :06:33.The people of Guernsey now formally own the Little Chapel -

:06:34. > :06:35.one of the islands most famous tourist attractions.

:06:36. > :06:37.The Little Chapel Foundation bought the property deeds today along

:06:38. > :06:41.with a parcel of land nearby for one pound.

:06:42. > :06:43.More investment is planned for the site in the future including

:06:44. > :06:47.improved disabled access and a visitor centre.

:06:48. > :06:50.The Foundation says today is an important milestone

:06:51. > :06:53.for the restoration of the attraction.

:06:54. > :06:56.We have been working on the chapel and doing a lot

:06:57. > :07:02.But now the people Guernsey own it, it's entrust with the Foundation

:07:03. > :07:06.We can go forward with that ownership.

:07:07. > :07:12.We can put a proper business plan in place.

:07:13. > :07:16.Over 1000 school Children in Jersey are being introduced

:07:17. > :07:21.The BBC Ten Pieces Orchestra is playing concerts as part

:07:22. > :07:25.By holding free workshops for children it's hoped

:07:26. > :07:28.a new generation will learn to love the music genre.

:07:29. > :07:30.We sent our cameras along to a packed Opera House

:07:31. > :07:43.Today, we've had two of the three BBC Ten Pieces concerts.

:07:44. > :07:55.It very exciting series in which children learn

:07:56. > :07:58.We learn about all the estimates of the orchestra.

:07:59. > :08:06.They got to hear the instruments, they got to meet the

:08:07. > :08:19.And also they got to hear some of the most exciting and diverse

:08:20. > :08:22.pieces of classical music that there are.

:08:23. > :08:26.So it's just a really great introduction for children to hear

:08:27. > :08:30.all the different characters and different things that

:08:31. > :08:43.I liked how the instruments are played different

:08:44. > :09:08.Humid air across us, that will continue towards the weekend.

:10:12. > :10:19.get more warmth, one or two of these showers likely to be heavy and 16
