:01:24. > :01:26.Today was not just a celebration of a thrilling defeat

:01:27. > :01:31.of Wasps but a culmination of passion and perseverance.

:03:20. > :03:22.been looking for traces of the 24-year-old today

:03:23. > :03:27.Some tourism leaders and economists are predicting a labour shortage

:03:28. > :03:31.in the tourist trade in the south west after Brexit.

:03:32. > :03:34.The industry relies on many European staff and as our home affairs

:03:35. > :03:39.correspondent Simon Hall reports, there are fears there won't be

:03:40. > :03:54.This inn relies on European workers and the manager feels

:03:55. > :03:57.if the numbers coming into Britain fall after Brexit.

:03:58. > :04:02.People going to stay in a hotel or, dare I say, going into hospital

:04:03. > :04:05.might find there are less staff there because those sort

:04:06. > :04:08.of place there have European staff working there.

:04:09. > :04:17.Only a short drive away at this hotel, they believe

:04:18. > :04:26.It is quite difficult because there are not many English people that are

:04:27. > :04:31.willing to work in this eerie soap, basically we are covering their

:04:32. > :04:33.spots. We're not taking any jobs, we are just taking the jobs which are

:04:34. > :04:37.available. Only a short drive away

:04:38. > :04:40.at this hotel, they believe they will still have plenty

:04:41. > :04:42.of good-quality staff after Brexit because

:04:43. > :04:44.they pride themselves The local kids, they are either

:04:45. > :04:49.going to be customers or staff, We want them to come in and get

:04:50. > :04:56.jobs and earn money, and get developed and trained,

:04:57. > :05:08.and get a career in hospitality. We do full training here. We are

:05:09. > :05:13.constantly looking for new staff and there are lots of great new

:05:14. > :05:15.positions. And it means a lot to you to have a job like this? Yes, it

:05:16. > :05:18.does. But one south-west economist

:05:19. > :05:21.believes that overall there will be issues in finding staff

:05:22. > :05:26.for the tourist trade after Brexit. I think it's quite possible that

:05:27. > :05:28.there will be significant labour shortages after we come

:05:29. > :05:30.out of Europe. Some of the Eastern European

:05:31. > :05:35.labour won't be available, some will go back to Europe,

:05:36. > :05:44.others won't come. The Conservatives say they will

:05:45. > :05:56.deliver Brexit and reduce net emigration...

:05:57. > :06:24.The Liberal Democrats have promised...

:06:25. > :06:36.Immigration has been a contentious issue in politics in recent years

:06:37. > :06:39.but what happens with a number of people coming into the country

:06:40. > :06:44.after Brexit, the population of the south-west is still expected

:06:45. > :06:51.It is predicted to rise by up to 20% in the next ten years,

:06:52. > :06:54.according to the Office for National Statistics.

:06:55. > :06:57.The large majority of that is due to migration from the

:06:58. > :06:59.rest of the UK, not overseas and most

:07:00. > :07:07.People have lined the route of the south west rail line today

:07:08. > :07:10.to catch a glimpse of the only steam locomotive to have been built

:07:11. > :07:16.This was the Tornado as she went through Exeter today.

:07:17. > :07:21.She entered main line service in 2008 but today is the first time

:07:22. > :07:24.she crossed the Tamar into Cornwall to spend the week at the Bodmin

:07:25. > :07:27.and Wenford Railway carrying passengers for the first few

:07:28. > :07:37.Time now for a look at the weather with Alexis.

:07:38. > :07:48.We've had a good deal of dry weather today. Some brighter spells as well.

:07:49. > :07:53.There is still the risk of rain tonight and coastal mist.

:07:54. > :07:58.Temperatures stay in double figures. With a fairly light south-westerly

:07:59. > :08:02.winds. Through the morning tomorrow, there will be cloud but we hope that

:08:03. > :08:07.will thin and raped to allow for sunshine in some places. Low cloud

:08:08. > :08:14.will linger in the South West. They may be coastal mist as well. Under

:08:15. > :08:18.the cloud cover, and towards the South West, just a high 14 Celsius.

:08:19. > :08:23.A good deal of cloud tomorrow night will thin and break to allow for

:08:24. > :08:27.clearer skies, high-pressure on Wednesday and Thursday and a lot of

:08:28. > :08:31.settled weather. Sunny spells will break through the cloud cover, there

:08:32. > :08:39.maybe mist and low cloud in places and then this weather front will

:08:40. > :08:42.push through till Friday. Still uncertainty about the timing of the

:08:43. > :08:48.weather front slowed Tuesday tuned to the ball cast throughout the

:08:49. > :08:51.week. Looking ahead to the weekend, the chance of the scattered shower

:08:52. > :08:55.but there will be brighter spells as well. Cloud expected over the next

:08:56. > :09:04.few days. Brighter Sunny spells with cloud breaking and inning in places.

:09:05. > :09:10.Temperatures on Thursday and Friday up to 13 -- 18 or 19 Celsius.

:09:11. > :09:13.Goodbye.
