:00:20. > :00:23.altercation on a housing estate in Nottinghamshire. The police were

:00:23. > :00:30.called to the street in Rainworth at midday today. Two people were

:00:30. > :00:34.later arrested. James Roberson reports.

:00:34. > :00:38.The emergency services had been on this estate on the eastern side of

:00:38. > :00:41.a Rainworth for most of this afternoon. The police arrived at my

:00:41. > :00:46.game after reports of a disturbance and possible attack on Pearl Close

:00:46. > :00:51.behind me. Residents told me the calm of the neighbourhood had been

:00:51. > :00:57.shattered, many not knowing what had happened. There was a lot of

:00:57. > :01:06.activity outside. A lot of police cars turned up. They sealed the

:01:06. > :01:10.road of. The police later confirmed that a 70-year-old man had been

:01:10. > :01:15.injured. Paramedics went to the straight but pronounced the man

:01:15. > :01:20.dead at the scene. He has not yet been named. It would appear that

:01:20. > :01:25.the Mail had been subjected to some kind of violent assault. As a

:01:25. > :01:29.result, two people have been arrested and are in custody and

:01:29. > :01:33.helping us with our inquiries. We would like to thank all the

:01:33. > :01:39.residents on this street and reassure them it is just an

:01:39. > :01:44.isolated incident. They have provided us with invaluable support

:01:44. > :01:49.at a difficult time. A post-mortem to establish exact cause of death

:01:49. > :01:53.is expected to be carried out this evening or early tomorrow.

:01:53. > :01:56.A murder inquiry has begun after a woman was found dead at a house at

:01:56. > :02:00.Bilborough in Nottingham on Christmas Day afternoon. A man was

:02:00. > :02:05.also seriously injured. Police were still outside the house on Bosden

:02:05. > :02:08.Close in the town today. The woman who died has not been named. A 56-

:02:08. > :02:12.year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

:02:12. > :02:17.Neighbours say there was a huge amount of police activity.

:02:17. > :02:20.A man has died in a fire which broke out yesterday morning. Fire

:02:20. > :02:23.crews were called to a residential block of flats for older people on

:02:23. > :02:28.Woodborough Road in Nottingham. It's thought one man jumped from

:02:28. > :02:32.the first floor flat to escape the blaze. But the body of another man

:02:32. > :02:35.was found by fire crews. A man given just days to live is

:02:35. > :02:38.said to be doing well after having a bone marrow transplant on

:02:39. > :02:42.Christmas Eve. Rik Basra, who's a Leicestershire police inspector,

:02:42. > :02:47.suffers from leukaemia. A donor match was found in Germany four

:02:47. > :02:51.days before Christmas. This morning, his wife said Rik was already up

:02:51. > :02:57.and about in hospital. The donor was found after an extensive search

:02:57. > :03:00.within the Asian community both in the UK and abroad.
