:00:32. > :00:38.have built themselves a feat -- fake speed camera. Motorbikes can

:00:38. > :00:45.go at 130 mph through this road. Plus cold comfort from electric

:00:45. > :00:50.blankets. How old and faulty wiring could kill. I got out just in time

:00:50. > :00:54.in my slippers, and the curtains went up in flames. With heavy

:00:55. > :01:04.weekend snow forecast, we joined the gritting teams keeping our

:01:06. > :01:09.Good evening. First tonight, a Nottingham man who sent text

:01:09. > :01:11.messages calling on people to join last summer's riots has received a

:01:11. > :01:14.lengthy jail sentence. Sam Lowe pleaded guilty to encouraging

:01:14. > :01:16.violent disorder by sending messages which told people to 'come

:01:16. > :01:19.with bricks'. The police say the sentence reflects how irresponsible

:01:19. > :01:29.Lowe's actions were at a time when people were rising up against them

:01:29. > :01:37.

:01:37. > :01:41.across the country. Sarah Teale was Last August, when a buyer --

:01:42. > :01:46.violent riots broke out -- broke out across the country, hundreds of

:01:46. > :01:52.people were jailed for joining in the borough -- violence. Today,

:01:52. > :02:02.this man was jailed as well. Seen here in the crates tracksuit with

:02:02. > :02:06.

:02:06. > :02:16.Strutt on the arms, -- stripes, he admitted sending text messages to

:02:16. > :02:22.

:02:22. > :02:26.160 contacts on his phone. This was He later sent a further message.

:02:26. > :02:32.Although some violence broke out, his actions did not create any

:02:32. > :02:39.specific problems here, but a woman who received those messages, told

:02:39. > :02:43.the police, and he was arrested later that night. He had 13

:02:43. > :02:50.previous convictions, including one for assault, for which he was

:02:50. > :02:58.sentenced to 12 months in a young offenders' institution. He was also

:02:58. > :03:05.under an as Bowe, and he took his father's car without consent and

:03:05. > :03:10.crashed it. His family were visibly upset when the judge sentenced him

:03:10. > :03:15.to the maximum possible term of three years and three months. He

:03:15. > :03:20.gave him another nine months for car events -- car events. The judge

:03:20. > :03:26.said it was surprising that he had received a young volunteer of the

:03:26. > :03:33.year award for his work tackling gangs and violence. But he told him,

:03:33. > :03:43.you have put a great deal into the community, but you took a huge

:03:43. > :03:43.

:03:43. > :03:46.amount a way for it. -- our way And what have Nottinghamshire

:03:46. > :03:49.Police said? They're pleased, they say Lowe's conviction is a great

:03:49. > :03:51.result for the force, highlighting some 'first class work' by the

:03:51. > :03:54.digital investigation unit. Accessing deleted messages on

:03:54. > :03:57.Blackberry messenger is incredibly difficult because of the rigorous

:03:57. > :04:02.security settings. But the police managed to recover those messages

:04:02. > :04:10.to secure this conviction. They said it should be a clear warning

:04:10. > :04:13.to criminals who think they're safe using Blackberrys to commit crime.

:04:13. > :04:16.And just tell us how many people have been charged in connection

:04:16. > :04:18.with last year's riots. Well, the latest figures we had are that 97

:04:18. > :04:21.were arrested in leicester with 62 charged with criminal offences

:04:21. > :04:24.while Nottinghamshire Police tell us 141 have been arrested and 87 of

:04:24. > :04:27.them charged. Nottinghamshire police said they were pleased with

:04:27. > :04:30.the long sentence given to Lowe today and said it reflected how

:04:30. > :04:37.irresponsible his actions were at a time when people were rising up

:04:37. > :04:40.against the police on a national scale. Next tonight, around 2,000

:04:40. > :04:43.police officers will be on the streets of Leicester tomorrow as

:04:43. > :04:44.the English Defence League march through the city. It's the

:04:44. > :04:54.organisation's second visit to Leicester and counter

:04:54. > :04:56.

:04:56. > :05:01.demonstrations will also take place in the city. Helen Astle reports.

:05:01. > :05:04.The City's police commander and his there were on the radio this

:05:04. > :05:09.morning to reassure businesses and the public that the committee will

:05:09. > :05:14.be saved tomorrow. 2000 officers will be involved in the operation

:05:14. > :05:18.tomorrow, and 1,300 of those a public order trained, and every

:05:18. > :05:22.single neighbourhood officer will be on duty in their neighbourhoods.

:05:22. > :05:28.They are coming to protect the city of Leicester. Two separate protests

:05:28. > :05:32.will be taking place. The English Defence League will be marching

:05:32. > :05:37.down St Margarets way and then towards the clock tower and out

:05:37. > :05:46.along the same way. Unite Against Fascism will be taking a different

:05:46. > :05:52.route. These are some of the scenes when the two groups stays a protest

:05:52. > :05:59.in 2010. The routes have been devised by the police and will take

:05:59. > :06:09.place at 12:30pm. We are showing the EDL that we are not going to

:06:09. > :06:12.allow them to drive us apart. will as a city carry on together.

:06:12. > :06:18.The police are not be expecting us may protesters as last time,

:06:18. > :06:21.because -- but some businesses are quite worried. Some are closing on

:06:22. > :06:30.the marches are taking place. have had to cover all the windows

:06:30. > :06:34.outside. It is going to close at 12 o'clock. We will reopen about 2

:06:34. > :06:39.o'clock, depending on what happens in the meantime. Tonight, a vigil

:06:39. > :06:46.is due to be held at Leicester Cathedral appealing for police. --

:06:46. > :06:51.piece. We want to celebrate what is best about Leicester and showbiz

:06:51. > :06:57.and support for each other. Leicestershire police say it will

:06:57. > :07:04.cost the force 1 million. Traders will hope that he doesn't cost them

:07:04. > :07:08.to delay in these tough economic times. Another big story this

:07:08. > :07:11.weekend could well be the weather. It seems the cold's won the battle

:07:11. > :07:15.with the mild - and snow's on the way. We'll have a full forecast at

:07:15. > :07:21.the end of the programme. But the end of the programme. But

:07:21. > :07:25.here's Sally with the overview. are keeping an eye on this system,

:07:25. > :07:31.and as the rain hits the well- established cold air, it is going

:07:31. > :07:36.to be turning from rain into snow from mid-afternoon tomorrow. The

:07:36. > :07:46.Met Office have heightened their weather warning to an amber alert.

:07:46. > :07:46.

:07:47. > :07:50.Potentially up to 10 centimetres of Residents who are desperate to slow

:07:50. > :07:53.down the traffic through their village have put up a fake speed

:07:53. > :07:55.camera. The camera, which looks exactly like the real thing, stands

:07:55. > :07:58.on private land next to a busy Nottinghamshire main road. The

:07:58. > :08:08.county council says it could be a hazard. But campaigners say it's

:08:08. > :08:18.doing a good job - as James Roberson reports. A speed camera in

:08:18. > :08:28.Compton, a village on the A 16 -- A616. It is not a real camera, but

:08:28. > :08:29.

:08:29. > :08:33.a fake one. If there is an accident on the road, and they cite the

:08:33. > :08:37.camera as a reason for that accident, we have looked into it

:08:37. > :08:47.but it is legal. There's no doubt as is working. Villagers have

:08:47. > :08:47.

:08:47. > :08:52.as is working. Villagers have become desperate to ensure that...

:08:52. > :09:02.You can see the speed of that truck coming through. Another one coming

:09:02. > :09:03.

:09:03. > :09:05.now. 16 last Prowler through a 40 now. 16 last Prowler through a 40

:09:05. > :09:11.zone. The speed limit for this error... We hope the camera's going

:09:11. > :09:16.to make a big difference. Despite the 14 oz Prowler signs and estate

:09:16. > :09:22.camera, I ate at still seen plenty of traffic still going through this

:09:22. > :09:26.village at well over 40 mph. County councillors agree that the limit is

:09:26. > :09:32.often ignored, and accept the camera is slowing traffic down.

:09:32. > :09:37.But... We have to bear in mind there is no warning for the sign,

:09:37. > :09:46.and they might be a possibility of creating a accident. That is the

:09:46. > :09:56.concern. They hope an interactive speed sign will go up in the near

:09:56. > :09:57.

:09:57. > :10:00.future. In other news, Nottinghamshire County Council's

:10:00. > :10:02.confirmed plans to cut almost four hundred jobs as part of its

:10:02. > :10:04.forthcoming budget. It needs to find further savings of twelve

:10:04. > :10:07.million pounds over the next two years. Meanwhile, Leicestershire

:10:07. > :10:10.County Council is due to finalise proposals to freeze council tax and

:10:10. > :10:20.save an extra 10 million pounds. An estimated one thousand council

:10:20. > :10:21.

:10:21. > :10:23.posts will go over the next four years. The Government is planning

:10:23. > :10:26.to bail out the financially troubled Peterborough and Stamford

:10:26. > :10:29.Hospitals trust. It's one of seven NHS organisations expected to share

:10:29. > :10:32.1.5 billion pounds over the next 25 years. The trust has been

:10:32. > :10:42.struggling with PFI repayments for the new Peterborough City Hospital

:10:42. > :10:43.

:10:43. > :10:45.which serves patients from South Lincolnshire and Rutland. Still to

:10:45. > :10:50.come on the programme. That crucial weekend weather forecast. And

:10:50. > :10:57.Sport's live from Pride Park. weather means that the covers are

:10:57. > :11:07.on the pitch at Pride Park, trying to keep it covered. It is derby

:11:07. > :11:15.

:11:15. > :11:18.It looked freezing there. Well the big freeze is definitely heading

:11:18. > :11:21.our way this weekend and if you've got the electric blankets out, you

:11:21. > :11:24.might want to check them over. One Nottingham couple lost everything

:11:24. > :11:27.when their house burned down because of faulty wiring. A recent

:11:27. > :11:33.survey found 60 per cent of blankets that were inspected were

:11:33. > :11:37.dangerous. Jonathan Cecil has the details. Because of an electric

:11:38. > :11:43.blanket, this couple lost everything where -- when their

:11:43. > :11:47.house caught fire. The flames were shooting out from under the bed.

:11:47. > :11:51.They are curtains here, of course. We got out in time. I jumped into

:11:51. > :11:55.my slippers, and the curtains went up in flames. They were extremely

:11:55. > :12:03.lucky and were able to get out of the house in time. All of their

:12:03. > :12:09.belongings were burned or damaged by the fire forced Dr --. All of my

:12:09. > :12:13.books have gone. It is like my party has disappeared. Electric

:12:13. > :12:21.blankets have been around for nearly 100 years, but in recent

:12:21. > :12:24.tests, they found 63 % failed safety checks. We had one case that

:12:24. > :12:30.when they were switched on, there was a burning sensation, and we

:12:30. > :12:36.managed to catch that one. There were various issues where -- with

:12:37. > :12:41.wear and tear, and the wiring has perished. 40 blankets have caused

:12:41. > :12:45.nine house fires in Nottinghamshire in the last three years. The 40

:12:45. > :12:49.blankets taken out of circulation by the council had been made safe

:12:49. > :12:53.and donated to a dog rescue centre. It has been a difficult year for

:12:53. > :12:57.this couple, but final preparations are being done, and they hope to

:12:58. > :13:07.move back into their home within the next month. Were they used an

:13:08. > :13:08.

:13:08. > :13:11.electric blanket this winter? Police are growing increasingly

:13:11. > :13:17.concerned for a 24-year-old woman who has been missing from home.

:13:17. > :13:21.Rosie McCann in Nottinghamshire was last seen on the morning of the

:13:21. > :13:25.16th January. The mother of two dropped her children off at school

:13:25. > :13:28.and has not been seen since. Trading standards officers from

:13:28. > :13:33.Nottinghamshire County Council are warning parents to be on the

:13:33. > :13:37.lookout for unsafe baby's dummies. Purchase from legitimate shops,

:13:37. > :13:40.they are decorated with beads and other small object and are then

:13:40. > :13:44.sold on the internet. Officers warned that the decorations can

:13:44. > :13:49.come loose, the glue is untested and the Sioux this cannot be

:13:49. > :13:54.properly sterilised. She has been described as the best

:13:54. > :14:00.female balloonist in the country, possibly the world. Dr Janet Folkes,

:14:00. > :14:05.an academic at the University of Nottingham, but 50 world records.

:14:05. > :14:10.But supper last month, she lost her battle with cancer. Dr Folkes died

:14:10. > :14:17.at the age of 52. Her final at -- funeral was held in Burton Joyce

:14:17. > :14:21.today. Our reporter looked back at a life filled with it then to.

:14:21. > :14:28.Janet's final journey, outside the church, a small version of the

:14:28. > :14:32.balloon that took her on all those She is one of the best female

:14:32. > :14:40.pilots in the world, certainly the best British female pilot and if

:14:40. > :14:46.you look at her career, she has done some absolutely amazing things.

:14:46. > :14:49.She had great courage, huge scale and I hated flying against her

:14:49. > :14:54.because she would always beat me! But she was a wonderful pilot.

:14:54. > :14:57.Standby. At the best of times, there and not many people who could

:14:57. > :15:01.manage this but between chemotherapy sessions for cancer,

:15:01. > :15:04.Janet took part in one of the work -- most gruelling balloon races.

:15:05. > :15:10.One year earlier, she broke the women's record for staying in the

:15:10. > :15:14.air the longest. This is the moment when she found out. We are 10,000

:15:14. > :15:23.ft at 12 o'clock and we have had our world record for two minutes!

:15:23. > :15:28.Friends say Janet saw the cancer as an inconvenience and would not let

:15:28. > :15:33.it stop her. She had flown and I have been in awe of this woman. It

:15:34. > :15:39.has been a privilege to be allowed to be part of her world.

:15:39. > :15:43.John it was also a high flyer in the academic world. An expert in

:15:43. > :15:48.lasers and high-powered water jetting. The circumstances in which

:15:48. > :15:51.she fought cancer, she just kept going. She was even in at Christmas

:15:51. > :15:57.talking about coming back in January to do more teaching. She

:15:57. > :16:00.definitely lived life to the full. Jan it took me on my first and only

:16:00. > :16:05.balloon flight for a special report in Switzerland. She was known for

:16:05. > :16:08.always putting others first. There are many ideas for a lasting

:16:08. > :16:13.tribute to her but friends say it is her spirit of adventure that

:16:13. > :16:19.will live on. Dr Janet Folkes whose funeral was

:16:19. > :16:24.held today. A lovely lady. Time for the sport now and column has

:16:24. > :16:31.deserted us and is out in the cold. --: Has deserted us. I don't mind

:16:31. > :16:37.the cold at all because this is the big one. At least for fans of Derby

:16:37. > :16:40.and forest. A sell-out crowd inside Pride Park and you see the two

:16:40. > :16:44.fierce rivals battle it out again. And as for the manager's? They

:16:44. > :16:51.might like to tell us that it is just another three points on offer

:16:51. > :16:56.but we know it is more than up. # What doesn't kill you makes you

:16:56. > :17:01.stronger #. It does not matter where we are in

:17:01. > :17:04.the table, we will beat Forest at all costs. Bragging rights for the

:17:04. > :17:11.next seven months until we play them again unless they get

:17:11. > :17:15.relegated. I think we will after them. Two managers united in

:17:15. > :17:18.rivalry, reds against Rams is always hotly-contested but given

:17:18. > :17:21.their differing fortunes this season, it is not just local pride

:17:21. > :17:26.at stake. They are more informed than we are,

:17:26. > :17:30.we know that. Hopefully it is the case that form can go out of the

:17:30. > :17:35.window during these games but it could be just the right game for us.

:17:35. > :17:40.A lot of Derby supporters will be enjoying seeing them down there but

:17:40. > :17:47.they are in the same league. We enjoy these games. 11 League places

:17:47. > :17:52.separate the two teams. Confident wise, they seem worlds apart.

:17:52. > :17:55.have been the ones in the bottom half of the table fighting for

:17:56. > :18:00.points so we know how it feels Andrine know how hard they will

:18:00. > :18:04.find it. In every game we play, we nearly out stack the opposition

:18:04. > :18:08.apart from the most important statistic which is keeping clean

:18:08. > :18:14.sheets and scoring goals. Always eventful but how will the shape the

:18:14. > :18:19.rest of the season? That is the managers' point of you

:18:19. > :18:22.but for the players, they will walk out on to this pitch to be greeted

:18:22. > :18:26.by an absolute wall of sound. We wondered how they were gearing up

:18:26. > :18:31.for the game. Let's start with Derby and their dressing room, with

:18:31. > :18:36.Craig Bryson. For Derby, it is a chance to do the double over their

:18:36. > :18:45.bitter rivals. You can forget the victory against the odds earlier

:18:45. > :18:50.COMMENTATOR: A finish and it is Jeff Hendrik!

:18:50. > :18:56.When you get a goal early and then you are up against right uppercuts

:18:56. > :19:02.the start. You need to stick in and get a result. With 10 men, that is

:19:02. > :19:09.unbelievable. Team spirit was given as the reason for their success.

:19:09. > :19:15.good mix between Europe and all. I don't know if I am getting bolder

:19:15. > :19:18.or the team is getting under -- a good mix between young and old.

:19:18. > :19:22.Cray Bryson hails from Scotland, home to some of the fiercest

:19:22. > :19:27.footballing rivalry. As for Sunday's game, he cannot wait.

:19:27. > :19:35.is a bit different when you are playing local rivals in a derby

:19:35. > :19:38.game at home. But it is not guaranteed, any game in the

:19:38. > :19:48.championship, you have to earn the right to play. It will be a big

:19:48. > :19:52.game the Sunday but hopefully we That is the view of the people who

:19:52. > :19:57.spend all their time here at Pride Park. What about the players who

:19:57. > :20:06.will be here on Sunday? In the away changing room? Kirstie Edwards went

:20:06. > :20:12.to meet Forest new boy, Danny As Forest get said to face Derby,

:20:12. > :20:20.cant a former Rahme help to dig them out of trouble? -- A former

:20:20. > :20:24.Ram? I joined when hours 21 and it is a good football club and it

:20:24. > :20:30.really helped me to move forward and have a good career. On Sunday,

:20:30. > :20:34.I will be hoping to get through points off them. Danny Higginbotham

:20:34. > :20:38.joins the club struggling in the Regula -- relegation zone. We will

:20:38. > :20:42.show what we have got. There are some very good players in the squad.

:20:42. > :20:48.Nine years on from his Derby days, he is hoping to make an impact for

:20:48. > :20:53.Forest. Starting at his old club. If we can get a result at Derby,

:20:53. > :20:58.that will fill the lad with confidence. It feels great, a very

:20:58. > :21:03.good dressing room. Hopefully everybody pulling together and if

:21:03. > :21:11.we can get a couple of results very quickly, we can start looking up

:21:11. > :21:15.Of course, there was a big departure from Forest over the

:21:15. > :21:18.transfer window. Defender Wes Morgan. He is expecting to make his

:21:18. > :21:23.debut for new club Leicester City at Brighton over the weekend. He

:21:23. > :21:28.has been talking to the BBC Late Kick Off's and Ashley Jackson about

:21:28. > :21:32.just how that feels. -- Natalie Jackson. Getting to know everybody.

:21:32. > :21:39.So different but I am settling down now. Getting more and more used to

:21:39. > :21:43.it, getting to know the people better. Getting comfortable and

:21:43. > :21:50.hopefully I can repeat the good times I have had with forest at

:21:50. > :21:58.You can see more of that interview and it is worth a watch on Monday's

:21:58. > :22:05.Late Kick Off at five past 11. It is really very cold here, you

:22:05. > :22:09.can see my breath and the covers on the pitch, and the undersoil

:22:09. > :22:13.heating. That has meant it there is a no game for Notts County this
