:00:16. > :00:20.Pentelow. A brave shopkeeper has described

:00:20. > :00:23.the moment he beat off an armed robber who shot at him. Kapil

:00:23. > :00:28.Vaghela said he didn't think about his own safety when the masked

:00:28. > :00:31.raider burst into the shop. He beat him off with a stick and said his

:00:31. > :00:40.main concern was making sure his fiancee was safe. Sarah Teale

:00:40. > :00:45.reports. Dramatic CCTV footage captures the

:00:45. > :00:50.moment an armed robber burst into Kapil Vaghela's shop on

:00:50. > :00:54.Loughborough Road in Leicester. The masked raider pointed a gun at the

:00:54. > :01:00.man and his fiancee and demanded money from the tail. He said "give

:01:00. > :01:10.me all my money, I will kill you, this is not a joke". I got a stick

:01:10. > :01:10.

:01:10. > :01:15.and I have to protect my fiancee. As he kept hitting him with a stick,

:01:15. > :01:19.the robber fired at him three times. He took the shot at me, the first

:01:19. > :01:25.just missed me. The second and third one definitely would not have

:01:25. > :01:35.missed me because he was pointed at me. Be done contained plights.

:01:35. > :01:36.

:01:36. > :01:42.Eventually the robber left empty- handed -- the gun contained a Set

:01:42. > :01:47.of blank ammunition. It was down to the CCTV TV system that helped.

:01:47. > :01:52.He has played down his heroics. Every single day, you work hard and

:01:52. > :01:56.you do not want people to come in and take your money and spend it

:01:56. > :02:00.would ever they do spend it on. I am not brave, I did whatever I had

:02:00. > :02:09.to do. It took place last Wednesday and police are appealing for help

:02:09. > :02:12.Police in Derby have begun a murder investigation. A man died this

:02:12. > :02:22.afternoon after suffering head injuries in an assault early this

:02:22. > :02:24.

:02:24. > :02:27.morning. The attack happened near a pub on Sadler Gate at about 3:30.

:02:27. > :02:31.The 24-year-old was taken to Royal Derby Hospital for treatment but

:02:31. > :02:34.died later. Two men who are 29 and 45 have been arrested.

:02:34. > :02:37.Canal enthusiasts who are hoping to build a giant boat-lifting machine

:02:37. > :02:40.say it could bring millions of pounds to the tourist trade in the

:02:40. > :02:42.East Midlands. The Derby and Sandiacre Canal Trust wants to

:02:42. > :02:49.build the so-called Derby Arm, which will transfer boats between

:02:49. > :02:54.waterways. It would be part of a major canal restoration project,

:02:55. > :03:01.and cost millions of pounds to build. But the trust says it'll

:03:01. > :03:05.bring money back into the area. will see half-a-million visitors to

:03:05. > :03:11.the attraction, into Derby, every year as a result of this one scheme.

:03:11. > :03:15.That will bring millions of pounds worth of benefit to local business

:03:15. > :03:19.and the area generally. An unusual private collection in

:03:19. > :03:22.honour of the Titanic has opened to the public for the first time today.

:03:22. > :03:30.John Siggins from the Midland Railway Centre in Ripley has spent

:03:30. > :03:33.20 years collecting items from Titanic's sister ship - the Olympic.

:03:33. > :03:36.He's recreated the doomed liner's interior and has put the items on

:03:36. > :03:43.show. This coming Saturday is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of

:03:43. > :03:48.the Titanic, while it was on its maiden voyage. The idea was just to

:03:48. > :03:52.preserve Heritage. It was not intended to be opened up for

:03:52. > :03:57.anybody to look at, I thought it was just me. Then I thought it was

:03:57. > :04:03.selfish otherwise people would not be able to see what it all meant. I

:04:04. > :04:08.don't think there is a more interesting shape than the Titanic.

:04:08. > :04:11.-- boat. Next this evening, the

:04:11. > :04:13.extraordinary story of a Dad who had to break down a bathroom door

:04:13. > :04:16.to help his partner give birth. Thankfully, baby Sebastian arrived

:04:16. > :04:25.without complications at his home in Stapleford in Nottingham. As Jo

:04:25. > :04:32.Healey explains. A lovely Easter present. He turned up on time.

:04:32. > :04:38.ahead of time. The mother had gone into labour but she did not know it

:04:38. > :04:42.would be so quick. I went to the toilet and then I felt my waters

:04:42. > :04:46.break and then shouted to my partner that my waters had broken,

:04:46. > :04:53.and he said he had to break the door down. She could not get to the

:04:53. > :04:58.door so I had to bust the lock open. I found Amy on the floor in a lot

:04:58. > :05:01.of pain. About to give birth. had the ambulance service on the

:05:01. > :05:11.phone to talk him through, here's the recording.

:05:11. > :05:11.

:05:11. > :05:18.How much of the baby is out? Is the baby out? Perfect. The is the baby

:05:18. > :05:22.crying or breathing? It is crying happily. Weighing a sizable 8lb,

:05:22. > :05:26.Sebastien made his entrance on the toilet floor.

:05:26. > :05:32.It was a big surprise. Relatively straight forward, two pushes and

:05:32. > :05:37.then he was about and my partner passed him on to my stomach while

:05:38. > :05:42.the ambulance crew provided towels. It was an Easter surprise that the

:05:42. > :05:49.whole family is now savouring. never thought I would ever be able

:05:49. > :05:53.to do this, deliver a baby but I would do it again. Let's hope he

:05:53. > :05:56.does not have too! Football now and all our sides have

:05:56. > :05:59.been in action this afternoon. In the Championship Leicester boosted

:05:59. > :06:09.their play-off hopes with a 2-1 win at Ipswich. Derby have been taking

:06:09. > :06:11.

:06:11. > :06:16.on Leeds. Final score - Leeds 0 Derby 2. And Nottingham Forest

:06:16. > :06:19.travelled to Peterborough and won 1-0. In League One Notts County's

:06:19. > :06:29.were at home to Yeovil - a Lloyd Sam hat-trick moving the Magpies

:06:29. > :06:31.

:06:31. > :06:37.into the play-off places. Here's Thank you for this picture, it has

:06:37. > :06:40.been dry and chilly. The cold front made it way south-east through the

:06:40. > :06:43.day-to-day which has brought all the rain and you will notice the

:06:43. > :06:48.isobars firmly tied together signifying the strong winds we have

:06:48. > :06:52.been having. Through this evening we have the rain before it starts

:06:52. > :06:58.to move south and east very slowly this evening and then eventually it

:06:58. > :07:05.will become dry. The rain pusher slowly away and the skies will

:07:05. > :07:07.break and Clear skies developing. What chilly overnight tonight. If

:07:07. > :07:11.you do live somewhere particularly sheltered and out of the wind

:07:11. > :07:17.overnight you might see a touch of frost tomorrow. Chilly but bright

:07:17. > :07:21.starts tomorrow and gradually through the day sunny spells and

:07:21. > :07:25.scatter showers. The showers may be associated with hail and also the

:07:25. > :07:29.odd rumble of thunder. Fairly breezy through Tuesday with high

:07:29. > :07:32.temperatures of 12 Celsius and looking at Wednesday, another

:07:33. > :07:37.typically April day. Expecting sunshine and scattered showers

:07:37. > :07:40.again with a chant of hail and the odd rumble of thunder on Wednesday.

:07:40. > :07:44.Your outlook, you will notice this theme stays with us for Thursday
