:00:13. > :00:20.Pentelow. Tonight, beating cancer together. A mother and daughter
:00:20. > :00:26.overcome breast and skin cancer. She cried. I cried. Literally
:00:26. > :00:31.passing the tissues from one to the other. Also, a four-year-old boy is
:00:31. > :00:41.recovering after being stabbed. There was blood all over his head.
:00:41. > :00:41.
:00:41. > :00:46.He had stab wounds to his back. It's ridiculous. The water trade -
:00:46. > :00:51.pumping millions of litres to drought-hit areas. Has the council
:00:51. > :01:01.lost the plot? These protesters fear banning a pensioner with a
:01:01. > :01:06.
:01:06. > :01:09.disability from his allotment could Good evening. Welcome to Tuesday's
:01:09. > :01:12.programme. First tonight, a mother and her teenage daughter have both
:01:12. > :01:16.battled cancer together and are now celebrating being given the all-
:01:16. > :01:20.clear. Bridget Whelan had extensive treatment to beat breast cancer
:01:20. > :01:24.while her 17-year-old daughter, Laura, had surgery to remove skin
:01:24. > :01:34.cancer. They say the fight has made them closer. Sarah Teale reports
:01:34. > :01:39.from Derby. It's been a tough year for Bridget and her 17-year-old
:01:39. > :01:44.daughter, Laura. First, 50-year-old Bridget from Derby, received
:01:44. > :01:47.devastating news after finding a lump in her breast. I sort of knew
:01:47. > :01:55.straightaway when you walked in the room what was going to be said.
:01:55. > :01:59.That was it. I was told that's me and they would operate straightaway.
:01:59. > :02:05.Therapy followed, but then came the news that Laura had skin cancer.
:02:05. > :02:08.She had to have surgery to remove the mole and the cells from her
:02:08. > :02:16.thigh. It was the biggest shock. You don't expect it to happen to
:02:16. > :02:20.you. She cried. I cried. Literally passing the tissues from one to the
:02:20. > :02:25.other. Gobsmacked. Couldn't believe it. It was hard for both of us at
:02:25. > :02:30.the same time. You are meant to be there for one person, not both of
:02:30. > :02:34.you, split down the middle. What do you do? You need to be there and
:02:34. > :02:39.your family as well. It's even harder for them. It was horrible.
:02:39. > :02:44.What is worse, you having to battle cancer or watching your daughter go
:02:44. > :02:49.through it? My daughter. Without a doubt. I think when it's your child
:02:49. > :02:55.it's a totally different story. You do worry more. Laura and her mum
:02:55. > :02:59.now both have reason to celebrate. When we both went for our results
:03:00. > :03:03.on the same day and they said all- clear and I've been for one more
:03:03. > :03:09.checkup and that was all good. The same with mum. She got her results
:03:09. > :03:13.and everything is OK. Now both of them are looking to the future.
:03:13. > :03:17.and Laura are going to do the Race for Life this year and looking
:03:17. > :03:26.forward to that, dressing up and having fun and dance through the
:03:26. > :03:29.line at the end. They deserve a bit of fun. All the best to Bridget and
:03:29. > :03:32.Laura. In a moment we'll be reporting on plans to pump millions
:03:32. > :03:38.of litres of water to drought-hit areas. And Anna will be along to
:03:38. > :03:42.tell us if more of it will be falling from the heavens. More on
:03:43. > :03:50.the way as we continue to dodge shower, but it is just typical
:03:50. > :03:53.April weather. All the details shortly. A four-year-old boy has
:03:53. > :03:56.been seriously injured in a stabbing. He was found in a street
:03:56. > :04:05.at Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, and a man's been arrested. Here's
:04:05. > :04:08.our social affairs correspondent, Jeremy Ball. The aftermath of a
:04:08. > :04:12.shocking Easter Monday Bank Holiday that turned this street into a
:04:12. > :04:15.crime scene and left a four-year- old victim with serious injuries.
:04:15. > :04:20.The police believe the boy was stabbed with some kind of weapon.
:04:20. > :04:24.He was lying down there. There were blood everywhere. This neighbour
:04:24. > :04:30.called the ambulance. It really upset me. I'm shocked. Blood all
:04:30. > :04:37.over his head. He had stab wounds to his back. It's ridiculous.
:04:37. > :04:41.lucky he's alive. Touch wood. If he had been dead all sorts could have
:04:41. > :04:44.gone off. Although he was found outside here, detectives believe he
:04:44. > :04:48.was attacked indoors and they've spent today trying to piece
:04:48. > :04:52.together exactly what happened and why he was so seriously injured.
:04:52. > :04:57.The boy's been treated at the queens Medical Centre where his
:04:57. > :05:00.parents are at his bedside. The police say he's talking and his
:05:00. > :05:03.condition's stable. Detectives have spent the day questioning a 51-
:05:03. > :05:08.year-old man, who was arrested at the scene. It's understood that he
:05:08. > :05:13.lives at the house and knows the boys' -- boy's family and the
:05:13. > :05:17.police say they're not treating this as a random attack. Next, an
:05:17. > :05:20.emergency plan to tackle the water shortage hitting part of our region.
:05:20. > :05:25.Severn Trent wants to sell millions of litres per day to neighbouring
:05:25. > :05:33.Anglian Water. The water would be pumped into the River Trent and
:05:33. > :05:37.sent 80 miles across the region. Mike O'Sullivan has this report.
:05:37. > :05:41.Dazzling in the spring sun, the waters of the River Trent seem a
:05:41. > :05:47.thing of beauty and may about to become even more highly prized. The
:05:47. > :05:51.river could now be used to help gret water supplies right across
:05:51. > :05:56.our region -- get water supplies right across our region, where a
:05:56. > :06:03.hosepipe ban has been introduced. Severn Trent wants to sell 30
:06:03. > :06:09.million litres of water a day, enough to fill 375,000 badges, to
:06:09. > :06:12.neighbouring Anglian Water. Sending the water along the River Trent.
:06:12. > :06:15.can absolutely reassure customers that our own customers have the
:06:15. > :06:19.priority. We make sure we have enough water for their needs first.
:06:19. > :06:22.We are at the position now where we'll be able to make a definite
:06:22. > :06:26.season about -- decision whether we can part with the water or not.
:06:26. > :06:31.It's likely we can. The water would come from boreholes in the
:06:31. > :06:35.Birmingham area. It would go into the river tame and that would flow
:06:35. > :06:40.into the River Trent. 80 miles across the region, ending up in
:06:40. > :06:44.Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. Anglian Water is facing a shortage.
:06:44. > :06:47.Grantham is one of the areas affected by Anglian Water's
:06:47. > :06:52.hosepipe ban. Mixed views here on whether the company should have to
:06:52. > :06:55.buy the water. They need to find some way around it to put a system
:06:55. > :07:01.in place to last, rather than getting water from someone else for
:07:01. > :07:05.a little while and needing to do it again. We are a privatised company
:07:05. > :07:10.so logically we are in a market so yes, they should be able to sell it.
:07:10. > :07:14.You shouldn't have to buy water really. It should be going where
:07:14. > :07:19.it's needed. The costs of this sort of scheme are actually quite small.
:07:19. > :07:23.There are pumping costs but they'll not be transferred through to
:07:23. > :07:27.customers. Severn Trent says the influx of water won't harm the
:07:27. > :07:31.river. And selling it off should keep customers' water bills down.
:07:31. > :07:38.If the Environment Agency agrees, the water could be sold down the
:07:38. > :07:43.river from June. A man's been charged with murder after a 24-
:07:43. > :07:46.year-old man was found injured in Derby city centre yesterday morning.
:07:46. > :07:52.Ashley Finlay, who lived in Spondon, died in hospital after being
:07:52. > :07:54.attacked in Sadler Gate. A 29-year- old will appear in court tomorrow.
:07:54. > :08:00.A 45-year-old man's been released on police bail while detectives
:08:00. > :08:02.continue their inquiries. Police have started an investigation after
:08:02. > :08:07.the body of a Loughborough University student was found under
:08:07. > :08:11.a motorway flyover. The death of 19-year-old Thomas Healy is being
:08:11. > :08:16.treated as unexplained. It's thought he was in a minibus on his
:08:16. > :08:19.way to Birmingham for a night out late on Friday. The minibus stopped
:08:19. > :08:28.on the hard shoulder and he got out between junctions five and six of
:08:28. > :08:30.the M6. Next tonight, it started as the simple tale of Arthur and his
:08:30. > :08:36.allotment, but now it's escalated into a full-scale protest about
:08:36. > :08:39.discrimination. Arthur Martin was devastated when his local council
:08:39. > :08:43.said they wouldn't let him rent an allotment, because, they said, his
:08:43. > :08:46.bad hip was a safety hazard. That decision has sparked a big backlash
:08:46. > :08:49.in the Nottinghamshire town of Eastwood and tonight they're
:08:49. > :08:59.showing their anger at a meeting of the Town Council. Jo Healey is
:08:59. > :09:02.
:09:02. > :09:07.there. Yes, they are not happy here and as they say, the plot thickens.
:09:07. > :09:11.Now, Arthur can't face returning here. He's too disheartened, but
:09:12. > :09:19.people here say it's something much bigger now. Take a look at the
:09:19. > :09:24.placard. They are saying that they fear Arthur's case could lead to
:09:24. > :09:28.discrimination genction pensioners and people with -- against
:09:28. > :09:32.pensioners and people with physical disabilities. Arthur has worked
:09:32. > :09:37.here for seven years. Since the town council told him his bad hip
:09:37. > :09:41.was too much of a health hazard, he's lost heart and doesn't feel
:09:41. > :09:45.comfortable here any more. The people are preparing for this
:09:45. > :09:48.evening's protest. They fear the council could discriminate against
:09:49. > :09:52.others. I believe on these allotments there is quite a lot of
:09:52. > :09:57.senior citizens and we don't want them treated the same as Arthur's
:09:57. > :10:01.been treated. This is why we've got to let the council know we are not
:10:01. > :10:07.going to let this happen. I think it's terrible. I think it's really
:10:07. > :10:11.terrible. I think they should let them have what they want and give
:10:11. > :10:16.them the respect that they deserve. Let them decide for themselves what
:10:16. > :10:20.they can't do it any more. It's not right that disabled people should
:10:20. > :10:23.be discriminated against and older people either. And Arthur agrees.
:10:23. > :10:29.He's backing the campaign that started because of what happened to
:10:29. > :10:34.him. There are people on these allotments in a lot worse condition.
:10:34. > :10:40.Where is it going to end? Will they ban the chap here who's had a heart
:10:40. > :10:43.attack? There's a chap up there, one leg. I thought he was going to
:10:43. > :10:47.go. Here's how the council explained the letter to Arthur last
:10:47. > :10:51.week. We are taking it away because we don't wish to see him wheel-
:10:51. > :10:54.chair bound. He will be house bound if he's not careful the way he's
:10:55. > :11:00.carrying on. We decided that it would be in Arthur's best interests
:11:00. > :11:06.to give up the allotment. Arthur's now taken up the offer of using a
:11:06. > :11:10.friend's private allotment. It's unlikely he'll be back here. Now,
:11:10. > :11:13.as we said, this is about more than Arthur's case. Everybody here's
:11:13. > :11:17.going to be heading into the meeting in one moment, but first
:11:17. > :11:22.Danielle, what would you like to achieve tonight? I would like to go
:11:22. > :11:25.in there and get our voices heard, because there's plenty of people on
:11:25. > :11:29.that allotment with Arthur, with disabilities and we want something
:11:29. > :11:33.doing about it, because we don't want it to happen to anyone else.
:11:33. > :11:37.Thank you very much. Iris, how strongly do you feel? Very strong.
:11:37. > :11:41.I think it's despicable what the council's doing. It's about time
:11:41. > :11:45.they gave them something, not taken away. Dave you have come from
:11:45. > :11:50.Matlock tonight. How strongly do you feel? I was shocked when I saw
:11:50. > :11:53.the report on television and I came so see if honourable behaviour in
:11:53. > :11:56.public office exists, because they are there for people to enjoy and I
:11:56. > :12:01.can't see why the council are interfering and poking their nose
:12:01. > :12:07.in and coming up with all sorts of reasons to deal with Arthur in this
:12:07. > :12:09.terrible way. There should be a place for quiet relaxation and
:12:09. > :12:13.enjoyment, not bureaucracy and interfering. They don't seem to
:12:13. > :12:17.know what they're doing. Dave, everybody here, thank you very much
:12:17. > :12:21.for joining us tonight. They are all heading into the meeting. I
:12:21. > :12:26.don't know what's going to happen, but I do know their voices will be
:12:26. > :12:30.heard. Back to you. Thank you. Strong feelings there in the
:12:30. > :12:32.village there. A protestor has been assaulted and tents and barricades
:12:32. > :12:35.owned by the Occupy Nottingham group have been damaged. The
:12:35. > :12:38.campaigners say that since they set up camp in Old Market Square,
:12:38. > :12:46.almost six months ago, it's often been vandalised. According to the
:12:46. > :12:52.protestors, they were targeted three times on Saturday night.
:12:52. > :12:56.the weekend it was particularly eventful, let's say. Lots of
:12:56. > :13:04.continual attacks on the camp. Ripping down the barricades and the
:13:04. > :13:13.tents. We did have a member of our camp physically attacked. We are
:13:13. > :13:15.very used to it. The police are very aware of it. Work has started
:13:16. > :13:18.today to construct a new bridge over Nottingham railway station.
:13:19. > :13:21.When it's finished trams will be able to cross above the mainline
:13:21. > :13:24.rail track. The new bridge will connect the current Line One
:13:24. > :13:27.terminus with the extension out to Clifton. The project will take 21
:13:27. > :13:30.months to complete. Five towns in Leicestershire are hoping to become
:13:30. > :13:33.part of a Government project backed by the retail expert, Mary Portas.
:13:33. > :13:38.Places like Lutterworth, Coalville and Market Harborough all want to
:13:38. > :13:41.share 1 million of Government investment. As part of Our Streets
:13:41. > :13:50.series, Victoria Hicks has been to Market Harborough to find out why
:13:50. > :13:55.this prosperous market town is looking for help. It's a
:13:55. > :13:59.distinctive market town in south Leicestershire and it wants to stay
:13:59. > :14:03.that way, so it's bid for a share of Government funding. Lots of
:14:03. > :14:10.independent shops and we ought to get the message out that this is
:14:10. > :14:16.the place to come to. Duncan knows a thing or two about fine wines.
:14:16. > :14:19.Now, he wants to share his passion for the town too. It's just going
:14:19. > :14:23.to create the lovely buzz about town and spreading the gossip. It's
:14:23. > :14:28.what I do with wine. I've got this lovely wine, we do a little tasting
:14:28. > :14:31.here and I want you to appreciate it. I want you to close your eyes
:14:31. > :14:36.and imagine where you could be and what we wanted to do is through the
:14:36. > :14:42.social medium is get people to see the stuff on-line and their phones
:14:42. > :14:50.and think this place is a bit of all right. What's different about
:14:50. > :14:53.Market Harborough? Well, it looks different for a start. If you
:14:53. > :14:56.dropped an alien into any high street they wouldn't know where
:14:56. > :15:02.they are. The brands are all the same, but we're different and we
:15:02. > :15:07.want to keep it that day. We come regularly. It's nice and it's a
:15:07. > :15:12.friendly atmosphere. It's got so much going for it, but not so many
:15:12. > :15:16.people know. This bid could change all that, with extra money and help
:15:16. > :15:25.from the Mary Portas. Now the town has to see if it cuts through the
:15:25. > :15:29.competition to put this place on the map. We like it. We do. I used
:15:29. > :15:33.to Christmas shop there with my brother. Very nice. They must miss
:15:33. > :15:41.you. You're watching East Midlands Today and sport's on its way with
:15:41. > :15:45.four wins for all four of our football sides. Find out a Derby
:15:45. > :15:54.student has managed to get two well-known actors to star in his
:15:54. > :15:57.first movie. We're on the last lap. The Championship football season
:15:58. > :16:07.will be over in three weeks' time - unless your team makes the play
:16:08. > :16:11.
:16:11. > :16:14.offs. The star billing goes to Leicester. Two wins out of two over
:16:14. > :16:24.Easter. Can this up and down season end yet in promotion to the Premier
:16:24. > :16:24.
:16:24. > :16:27.League? Paul Bradshaw reports. It looked like another episode of this
:16:27. > :16:32.see-saw season. Leicester rarely win back-to-back, but they seized
:16:32. > :16:34.their opportunity at the right time. Ben Marshal is the top one at the
:16:34. > :16:41.moment and that free kick is another on his list of great
:16:41. > :16:45.strikes. Leicester began the second half looking like a team sensing a
:16:45. > :16:50.win. They got it thanks to this finish. They are all very important
:16:50. > :16:55.games, but we're hanging in there, giving ourselves an awful lot to do,
:16:55. > :17:02.but six points over the last three days doesn't do us any harm.
:17:02. > :17:06.have got to believe. It's been such an odd season. Obviously got some
:17:06. > :17:10.big games left. I think Millwall is massive. Got to try to win that,
:17:10. > :17:16.but if we hit form now I think if we get into the play-offs we'll be
:17:16. > :17:21.the form team. You have the three other teams to lose. Cardiff and
:17:21. > :17:25.Brighton, but if they all lose then we got a chance if we beat Millwall.
:17:25. > :17:32.With four games left the Foxes find themselves three points off the
:17:32. > :17:35.places. If Derby had won their home game with Ipswich on Saturday
:17:35. > :17:38.they'd have been level on points with Leicester. So despite an
:17:38. > :17:46.excellent 2-0 win at Leeds yesterday, Derby appear to have too
:17:46. > :17:50.much to do to make a play-off berth. Leeds and Derby are old rivals, but
:17:50. > :17:55.Derby were already in command when Michael Brown was sent out for a
:17:55. > :18:00.high foot, which left Theo Robinson in some pain. The opening goal was
:18:00. > :18:05.a lovely strike and they were on their way to a great seventh
:18:05. > :18:08.successive win against Leeds. They might have had a penalty too. Derby
:18:08. > :18:12.were convinced they deserved one. But when the referee and the
:18:12. > :18:16.assistant met to talk about it, they gave a free kick to Leeds.
:18:16. > :18:20.Derby wrapped it up in the second half. Steve Davis found the net.
:18:20. > :18:25.Great win, but games are running out and their charge up the table
:18:25. > :18:28.is probably too late. Derby five points off the play-offs, but
:18:28. > :18:31.they've had their best season for five years. Now, Nottingham Forest
:18:31. > :18:35.fans had a nervy weekend after being beaten at home by Bristol
:18:35. > :18:39.City on Saturday night. But they swept aside Peterborough yesterday.
:18:39. > :18:48.Their relegation fears could be over by the weekend. BBC Radio
:18:49. > :18:52.Nottingham's Forest correspondent, Colin Fray, give us this analysis.
:18:52. > :18:56.Saturday's home defeat by Bristol City was not a great start to
:18:56. > :19:00.Easter. The Reds played well, but the defeat just underlined the fact
:19:00. > :19:04.that Forest have the worst home record in the championship. Their
:19:04. > :19:09.recent revival has been built on away results and performances, but
:19:10. > :19:15.there was a fair amount of pressure yesterday. It didn't show. It was a
:19:15. > :19:21.fluent away performance. There were chances in the first half. Forest
:19:21. > :19:29.dominated. The winning goal was set up here and finished by Blackstock
:19:29. > :19:34.to make it three wins in a row. With this red card, it was a blow.
:19:34. > :19:38.I thought it was a very harsh decision and so did Steve Cotterill
:19:38. > :19:41.who expects to win an appeal. Forest are in a better position
:19:41. > :19:46.than they were before Easter and seven points clear with only four
:19:46. > :19:49.games to go and although they can be caught, it's a result that
:19:49. > :19:52.secure's their place in the championship for next season. Now,
:19:52. > :19:54.could we have another East Midlands' team in the Championship
:19:55. > :20:04.next season. Notts County are flying. Three wins in a row have
:20:05. > :20:10.
:20:10. > :20:14.put them in the final play-off spot. The charge is on. Two wins over
:20:14. > :20:19.Easter, three in a row, four games left and luck is on their side.
:20:19. > :20:22.Even the players seem to think this was offside. With a casual flick
:20:22. > :20:26.before the goal and then the surprise that the referee didn't
:20:27. > :20:31.blow the whistle. It had them dancing out of their seats. The end
:20:31. > :20:36.of the game had them on the edge, especially when a clearance gave
:20:36. > :20:44.Yeovil their equaliser, but there were to be more turns. A suspect
:20:44. > :20:52.nudge and push went unpunished and Lloyd Sams scored a second. The
:20:52. > :20:54.hattrick came in a 90th minute. A fascinating run-in to anticipate.
:20:54. > :20:58.Nottinghamshire and England cricketer, Stuart Broad, has been
:20:58. > :21:01.ruled out of playing in the Indian Premier League. He'll be out for at
:21:01. > :21:04.least three weeks as he recovers from a calf injury. He's likely to
:21:05. > :21:08.play for Notts early next month and hopes to be fully fit ready to play
:21:08. > :21:10.for England in the summer. If you missed it over the weekend, there
:21:10. > :21:13.were great scenes at the National Ice Centre as the Nottingham
:21:13. > :21:16.Panthers completed a double double. This goal, seven minutes from time,
:21:16. > :21:19.broke the deadlock in the play-off final against Cardiff. And the Ice
:21:19. > :21:22.Centre went crazy. Panthers went on to win 2-0 and Government minister,
:21:22. > :21:25.Ken Clarke, was there not to hand out justice, but to present the
:21:25. > :21:32.play-off trophy, which will sit alongside the Challenge Cup in the
:21:32. > :21:34.Panthers' cabinet for the second year running. The British
:21:34. > :21:38.Superbikes season started this weekend and Derby's John Kirkham
:21:38. > :21:42.got his first-ever win. It was a dramatic day at Brands Hatch in
:21:42. > :21:47.Kent as Kirkham made a move on the final bend to take the win for his
:21:47. > :21:50.new Honda team, but he was denied a chance to score a second win.
:21:50. > :21:53.Racing had to be abandoned, because, as you can see, the weather
:21:53. > :21:57.conditions were poor and got worse. Nottinghamshire swimming brothers
:21:57. > :22:01.Sam and Ollie Hynd should both make the paralympics in London. 17-year-
:22:01. > :22:03.old Ollie was named in the team today and his brother Sam, who won
:22:03. > :22:13.gold in Beijing, is selected subject to confirmation by the
:22:13. > :22:16.
:22:16. > :22:19.International Paralympic Committee. Charlotte hen Shaw made the team
:22:19. > :22:22.also. Thank you very much. Now, film directors at the top of their
:22:22. > :22:24.game can demand the highest fees and attract the best actors, but
:22:24. > :22:28.when you're just starting off, getting big names in your movie
:22:28. > :22:31.isn't that easy. But, there's a new director in Derby who's managed to
:22:31. > :22:34.strike gold. Danny Gold is in fact a film student, but he's convinced
:22:34. > :22:44.two television actors to star in his first movie and it's all being
:22:44. > :22:49.shot in the city. Geeta Pendse went along for the filming. This looks
:22:49. > :22:54.like any professional film set, but this one is being directed by a 21-
:22:55. > :22:58.year-old, as part of his final year project. He sent off the script to
:22:58. > :23:04.Jeff Stewart and Matt Healey, who played Matthew King in emDale, but
:23:04. > :23:07.never expected them to say yes. Jeff, literally, he read the script
:23:07. > :23:11.and called me the next day. I didn't know who it was, because it
:23:11. > :23:17.was a private number. He said, "Hi, this is Jeff. I would love to be
:23:17. > :23:23.part of the movie." I was playing it cool. After he hung up I was oh,
:23:23. > :23:32.my goodness. You never get anywhere in this life without a bit of cheek.
:23:32. > :23:36.All you have to do is ask. I was free this week so why not?
:23:36. > :23:40.short film tells the story of the dilemma faced when two gangsters
:23:40. > :23:45.fall out over a girl and the crew have shot it in several locations
:23:45. > :23:49.across the city, including the silk mill and the cathedral quarter. All
:23:49. > :23:54.on a budget of just 3,000. The crew are made up entirely of
:23:54. > :23:58.students and being a small-scale budget also brings with it a number
:23:58. > :24:02.of challenges. Danny only has a certain amount of film to shoot on,
:24:03. > :24:07.which means every single take really counts. Both actors say
:24:07. > :24:13.they've been blown away by the young director. We would say nice
:24:13. > :24:19.things whatever what was happening. In this case we relish telling you
:24:19. > :24:23.he's a visiony. He's worth keeping an eye out for. It's like he's
:24:23. > :24:30.blossoming now. When they go home and the set is emptied and it is
:24:30. > :24:34.cleared then it will hit me. situation will be premiered in June.
:24:34. > :24:44.If this is just his first film, who knows where the next could take
:24:44. > :24:46.
:24:46. > :24:51.him? Great shot. Get it. Yes. Brilliant. Hiem here all week. Now,
:24:51. > :24:54.-- I'm here all week. Now, April -- I'm here all week. Now, April
:24:54. > :25:01.showers? More rain? Yes, spot on. That's what we're getting for much
:25:01. > :25:05.of this week. We started yesterday, Easter Monday, on an unsettled note.
:25:05. > :25:09.Significant rainfall. Over the next few days, we are looking at
:25:09. > :25:17.sunshine and those lovely April showers. Dry overnight. David's
:25:17. > :25:21.photograph was taken earlier today. Thank you for this. This sky is how
:25:21. > :25:26.it's pretty much going to be for much of the week. It's low pressure
:25:26. > :25:29.and it's dominating us. Fairly windy conditions for the day. The
:25:29. > :25:33.isobars will become further apart through the night and tomorrow.
:25:33. > :25:37.They will be easing gradually. Overnight, this evening, we have a
:25:37. > :25:42.few showers still around for a time. Gradually they will die out to give
:25:42. > :25:45.us a dry night and then generally clear skies across much of the East
:25:45. > :25:48.Midlands. It will allow temperatures to fall quickly. We
:25:48. > :25:53.are expecting lows of around about freezing in rural spots, but one or
:25:53. > :25:58.two in towns and cities. A chilly start to Wednesday and then quite
:25:58. > :26:02.quickly you will start to see those showers developing through the
:26:02. > :26:07.morning. Then they will become quite widespread tomorrow. You will
:26:07. > :26:13.need your brolly, because more in the way of showers. Quite heavy.
:26:13. > :26:16.You might notice hail and even hear some thunder. The highs of 11. The
:26:16. > :26:21.wind just that little lighter tomorrow. The showers won't move on
:26:21. > :26:28.as quickly as they have done today. Looking further ahead, another day
:26:28. > :26:32.of sunshine and showers. Guess what, by Friday, yes, it's sunshine and
:26:32. > :26:38.showers and generally light winds on Friday. One thing you will
:26:38. > :26:43.notice temperatures are starting to come down. Wednesday and Thursday
:26:43. > :26:47.ten degrees, just below the norm. Down on Friday, but by the weekend
