:00:59. > :01:04.Infirmary over its care of a 14`month`old baby. Wsam Noorwali
:01:05. > :01:08.died after accidentally swallowing a battery.

:01:12. > :01:15.was neglect in some important aspects of his care. She's now

:11:44. > :11:49.over ?21,000. Higher than Leicester, but down by 1.9%. So this is what it
:11:50. > :12:01.all means in terms of average weekly pay. If we look at average pay for
:12:02. > :12:07.full`time workers, we find that workers in Derby have the highest
:12:08. > :12:13.average weekly pay, about ?500 per week, workers in Nottingham about
:12:14. > :12:17.?480, and Leicester about ?460. Workers in Mansfield on average
:12:18. > :12:20.take`home about ?420 per week. The modest pay increases have been
:12:21. > :12:23.cushioned by rises in personal tax allowance. Since the Coalition came
:12:24. > :12:27.to power it's steadily increased, so that by next April when it's reached
:12:28. > :12:32.?10,000, the average earner will save around ?700 a year in tax. But
:12:33. > :12:41.economists say it doesn't fully compensate for the fall in real
:12:42. > :12:47.wages. This survey tells us that since about 2009, pay in the East
:12:48. > :12:51.Midlands has only gone up about 4%, so that is 4% over about four years.
:12:52. > :12:57.In the same time, prices have actually gone up by about 15%. So
:12:58. > :13:01.over that four`year period, people's real wages have gone down.
:13:02. > :13:05.If you feel no better off, then you won't be surprised to learn that
:13:06. > :13:09.across the UK people are earning the same in real terms before tax as
:13:10. > :13:13.they were ten years ago ` and don't forget more people are now paying
:13:14. > :13:20.the higher rate of tax. The recovery may have taken hold, but there's
:13:21. > :13:23.still a long way to go. A ?50 million tower complex in
:13:24. > :13:27.Nottingham city centre is finally nearing completion.
