:09:17. > :09:24.should be paid for in the same way as a patient visiting physiotherapy
:09:25. > :09:29.centres has physiotherapy. At home, Josephine has written to the Health
:09:30. > :09:32.Secretary to complain. It would be better if people were treated and
:09:33. > :09:42.helped back to work and supported in staying at work. In a warrant of
:09:43. > :09:46.competing NHS priorities, the local NHS groups say they can't offer
:09:47. > :09:54.everything. They say they offer acupuncture but the service just
:09:55. > :09:57.wants is not commissioned. Thousands of people could be forced
:09:58. > :10:00.to pay crippling bills to repair local churches. It's all down to
:10:01. > :10:04.some ancient rules dating back to the reign of Henry VIII, rules which
:10:05. > :10:06.homeowners say are outdated and should be scrapped.

:12:13. > :12:15.after a forced marriage. Now, 21 years on, Karma Nirvana's helpline
:12:16. > :12:21.deals with more than 300 calls a month ` some from girls as young as
:12:22. > :12:31.11. In 2013 alone, it helped 3150 women flee abuse, and 182 men. Later
:12:32. > :12:34.this year, following years of campaigning, it will see forced
:12:35. > :12:39.marriage finally become a criminal offence. Well, a special reception's
:12:40. > :12:43.being held at the House of Commons this evening to mark the charity's
:12:44. > :12:46.21 years of work. Among those attending are police and
:12:47. > :12:56.politicians, volunteers and also some of the many people they've
:12:57. > :13:02.helped over the years. Right from the start, he was
:13:03. > :13:08.abusive, mentally and physically. Emotionally. He would rape me and I
:13:09. > :13:15.felt like I was just property and not a human being. It took me nine
:13:16. > :13:18.years to pick up the phone to Karma Nirvana and being able to relate to
:13:19. > :13:24.someone who has been through a similar experience changed my life.
:13:25. > :13:25.Jasvinder Sanghera joined me a little while ago, just before she
:13:26. > :13:27.went off 0 little while ago, just before she
:13:28. > :13:34.went off to the reception, and I asked her just how far Karma Nirvana
:13:35. > :13:38.has come in those 21 years. Karma Nirvana was founded in my front room
:13:39. > :13:44.in Derby in 1993 and in the beginning it was a huge struggle to
:13:45. > :13:49.make people even believe that the issue of forced marriage was a
:13:50. > :13:56.problem. We have come a long way increasing awareness and we have had
:13:57. > :14:01.30,000 calls over four years, there has been a change in the law, more
:14:02. > :14:03.survivors are coming forward and police and other organisations are
:14:04. > :14:08.changing their practices to tackle this. It is extraordinary what you
:14:09. > :14:13.have achieved. What you think is your greatest success? For me
:14:14. > :14:21.personally, the impact of increased reporting. We have gone from no
:14:22. > :14:31.calls to the helpline from 93 to 96 to well over 60,000 calls. For me,
:14:32. > :14:38.people seeking help would be the biggest sense of achievement. How
:14:39. > :14:41.important is Derby to all this? It is my hometown and where I was taken
:14:42. > :14:47.out of education for forced marriage. My sister was forced to
:14:48. > :14:51.marry as well. She took her life because of it at 24. We have a lot
:14:52. > :14:54.of historical links at 0 because of it at 24. We have a lot
:14:55. > :15:02.of historical links at Derby and it is Derby that put the issue on the
:15:03. > :15:08.map. What is the future for Karma Nirvana? Are goals are written in
:15:09. > :15:12.our struggles. We must make sure that every school in the country
:15:13. > :15:15.engages in this issue. We want every police force to have the right
:15:16. > :15:19.response because they are failing victims. We want to make sure that
:15:20. > :15:23.the criminalisation of forced marriage makes a difference and
:15:24. > :15:32.victims are supported. Here's to the next 21 years. What amazing work
