:01:06. > :01:14.the optometrist spotted. It was because of this that Steve's GP
:01:15. > :01:20.recommended a blood test. If I had not come here for an eye test, I do
:01:21. > :01:24.not know what would have happened. I was getting more lethargic. But I
:01:25. > :01:30.put it down to advancing years, working hard. You would not
:01:31. > :01:35.instantly think cancer. Steve was diagnosed with a rare form of bone
:01:36. > :01:40.marrow cancer. The severity of the illness was a surprise for the
:01:41. > :01:46.optometrist too. Most commonly when you see something like that, you
:01:47. > :01:50.would be thinking more along the lines of diabetes or high blood
:01:51. > :01:58.pressure. Steve came and told us what happened and we were surprised.
:01:59. > :02:01.Back at work as a local plumber after intense treatment, Steve says

:03:52. > :03:53.small arms fire and IEDs. Because of the armour on the vehicle, we are
:03:54. > :04:00.pretty much protected from everything. They are collecting
:04:01. > :04:04.sensitive equipment. That makes these patrols a prime target for the
:04:05. > :04:09.Taliban. That is why these huge vehicles are pushing rollers in
:04:10. > :04:14.front of them. They are designed to take the force of a blast. The
:04:15. > :04:19.protection is so good that hundreds of British soldiers have survived
:04:20. > :04:24.IED strikes. The latest threat they face is a pillow IED, a sack full of
:04:25. > :04:38.explosives that is thrown under the vehicle. An occupation hazard for
:04:39. > :04:45.this man. I was not expecting the bang. Some people wave at you. Some
:04:46. > :04:54.people throw stones at you. What has surprised you? The Way they live,
:04:55. > :04:57.the way they drive, it is quite mad. As this mission comes to an end, the
:04:58. > :05:03.Army is becoming increasingly reliant on its reservists.
:05:04. > :05:06.Sport now and the East Midlands derby between Nottingham Forest and

:05:28. > :05:31.25,000 fans. `` two all. Leicester City took the lead just before the
