:00:00. > :00:16.UK are And now the news for the East

:00:17. > :00:19.Midlands, I'm Anne Davies. A woman's been cleared of causing

:00:20. > :00:23.the death of two young children by careless driving. But Sharmila

:00:24. > :00:26.Mistry was found guilty of the lesser charge, careless driving. Her

:00:27. > :00:30.car smashed into the children's pushchairs at a busy junction in

:00:31. > :00:37.Leicester. Here's our chief news reporter, Quentin Rayner.

:00:38. > :00:43.The mother of one`year`old Oliwier Baczyk and the parents of

:00:44. > :00:47.two`year`old Zofia Tabaka sobbed in court after the verdicts were

:00:48. > :00:51.returned. The Polish children both died from head injuries after they

:00:52. > :00:57.were struck by a car while in the pushchairs in August, 2012. Sharmila

:00:58. > :01:01.Mistry was found not guilty of causing death by careless driving.

:01:02. > :01:05.She was on her way to the dismiss meeting and was driving along

:01:06. > :01:09.Narborough Road. She was talking on a hands`free phone and travelling

:01:10. > :01:13.six miles over the 30 mph limit. She went through an amber light as she

:01:14. > :01:19.drove through a junction. Her car was then hit by a red mini Cooper

:01:20. > :01:23.which had gone through a red light. The driver of that car has since

:01:24. > :01:27.died of unrelated circumstances. The collision pushed the BMW towards the

:01:28. > :01:31.children on a pedestrian island. One of the mothers of the children

:01:32. > :01:35.collapsed after the verdict and had to be treated by paramedics.

:01:36. > :01:42.Speaking through her solicitor, Sharmila Mistry gave her reaction.

:01:43. > :01:47.She has to say is that her thoughts are with the family and she is

:01:48. > :01:50.relieved that the jury agree that she was not responsible for the

:01:51. > :01:56.death of the children, but her faults remain, as they always have

:01:57. > :01:59.done, with the family. Fining her ?3000 and is qualifying her from

:02:00. > :02:03.driving for 18 months, the judge told her she had not been aware of

:02:04. > :02:07.her speed, had not noticed the roadworks, and was making a social

:02:08. > :02:10.call on hands`free device. All of which, he said, and mounted the

:02:11. > :02:16.careless driving. The court heard the 42`year`old from Bushby drove up

:02:17. > :02:19.to 200 miles a day and the disqualification will make it

:02:20. > :02:24.difficult for her to maintain her job.

:02:25. > :02:27.A woman who killed her three children has been found dead at

:02:28. > :02:31.Rampton Hospital in Nottinghamshire. An investigation is now underway at

:02:32. > :02:34.the top security hospital. It's understood the body of Theresa Riggi

:02:35. > :02:39.was discovered last night in her room. She killed her three children

:02:40. > :02:43.in Scotland in 2010. East Midlands Airport says it wants

:02:44. > :02:48.to double jobs, passengers and cargo as part of a growth plan for 2030.

:02:49. > :02:50.The airport is now consulting with the local community about its

:02:51. > :02:56.expansion plans. Mike O'Sullivan reports.

:02:57. > :03:04.They are bringing in a new look to the terminal. But they have got even

:03:05. > :03:10.more ambitious plans. The double the number of jobs, passengers and cargo

:03:11. > :03:12.volume here. It is already a big employment site. We expect the

:03:13. > :03:18.airport to grow substantially, possibly doubling, then a similar

:03:19. > :03:23.numbers of jobs created. The airport once to double the number of jobs

:03:24. > :03:30.here to 14,000 by 2030. Bush passenger numbers up from 4.2

:03:31. > :03:37.million to 10 million. And sea cargo volume climbed from 300,000 tonnes a

:03:38. > :03:41.year, to 750,000 tonnes. The airport has bought around 50 hectares of

:03:42. > :03:45.land. The airport says there are no plans to develop the site.

:03:46. > :03:50.Campaigners want to see limits on growth. We have no particular

:03:51. > :03:53.objection, provided you keep the development and the pollution within

:03:54. > :03:56.the existing boundary of the airport. If they try to export it

:03:57. > :04:01.onto land that they have bought recently, it threatens our

:04:02. > :04:05.tranquillity, we will object in the stronger is possible fashion. The

:04:06. > :04:08.airport has been buffeted by the recession and the demise of BMI

:04:09. > :04:16.baby. With passenger numbers down where around 1.2 million on 2009.

:04:17. > :04:23.But profits are back up again from ?40 million in 2009, to nearly ?19

:04:24. > :04:28.million last year. `` ?14 million. It is now looking ahead.

:04:29. > :04:31.A man who underwent a double lung transplant to treat his cystic

:04:32. > :04:35.fibrosis is backing a campaign to help more patients. The Cystic

:04:36. > :04:40.Fibrosis Trust says the way the transplant system operates for those

:04:41. > :04:47.needing new lungs is a scandal. Our health correspondent Rob Sissons

:04:48. > :04:52.reports. Andy was born with cystic fibrosis.

:04:53. > :04:56.It is genetic. Lungs become clogged with mucus. He knows he is lucky to

:04:57. > :05:00.have got a lung transplant. It has changed his life. People have died

:05:01. > :05:08.on the waiting list, when there are measures and develop it that can be

:05:09. > :05:11.put in place, to cut this down. One in five lungs donated are currently

:05:12. > :05:16.used for transplant. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust once the regional

:05:17. > :05:21.system where donated lungs are given to the nearest transplant centre

:05:22. > :05:25.replaced with a national one. We are calling for a national system to

:05:26. > :05:31.make sure the lungs that are donated are got to the people who need them

:05:32. > :05:34.as quickly as possible. A specialist in Nottingham says there is now a

:05:35. > :05:39.lot of determination to improve things. Not all of the lungs are in

:05:40. > :05:42.good enough condition to be used and there is a lot of work looking at

:05:43. > :05:50.reconditioning of lungs, for example, lungs that do not fit

:05:51. > :05:55.patients, many of them are too small. The wait for a transplant can

:05:56. > :06:00.be frustrating. Soon, patients will be using new state facilities. The

:06:01. > :06:07.said there is no nearly finished. `` the centre. Nationally, one in eight

:06:08. > :06:10.patients die while on the waiting list. We want people to talk to each

:06:11. > :06:15.other and find out what their wishes are. The NHS is already reviewed the

:06:16. > :06:19.organs are allocated and is working with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

:06:20. > :06:22.Now news of our football show Late Kick Off. Tonight, an exclusive with

:06:23. > :06:27.the Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies on his five`match touchline

:06:28. > :06:33.ban and his media image. There'll be goals and analysis too at 11:20pm

:06:34. > :06:36.tonight here on BBC One. That's your news. So, it's goodbye

:06:37. > :06:40.from me, but with your weather now, here's

:06:48. > :06:52.area of high pressure is going nowhere fast. Staying dry all week.

:06:53. > :06:56.The only hiccup will be the amount of cloud. But there will be some

:06:57. > :07:01.decent spells of sunshine. The cloud is starting to begin at the moment.

:07:02. > :07:08.There will be some holes in it across Northern and Western Isles.

:07:09. > :07:12.Derbyshire will get fairly chilly. Most of us staying around four or

:07:13. > :07:17.five Celsius. Tomorrow morning, starting off with a lot of cloud. It

:07:18. > :07:22.will be a dry start. The cloud will break up into the afternoon. Some of

:07:23. > :07:26.us will see some sunshine. Some areas may cling on to the cloud into

:07:27. > :07:28.the afternoon. Temperatures of 11 Celsius in the sunshine. Here is the

:07:29. > :07:34.outlook. 11 or 12 degrees. This is the

:07:35. > :07:39.outlook. If you are heading somewhere else in the UK, you need

:07:40. > :07:43.the forecast. Hello. The local weather detail you have just heard

:07:44. > :07:46.fit into an overall pattern which is now equivocal in different from the

:07:47. > :07:49.one that gave us our wettest winter on record.

:07:50. > :07:53.We have spent the day watching high pressure pushing across the UK. It

:07:54. > :07:59.is settling our weather down like any area of high pressure. It is

:08:00. > :08:02.here for a while. It is here for this week. The Jetstream has moved

:08:03. > :08:06.north and the wet and whether -- whinny systems have moved towards

:08:07. > :08:11.Iceland. Our weather is now much quieter. Sundays are sunnier than

:08:12. > :08:15.others. In the sunshine from it feels warm. At night it will be

:08:16. > :08:16.chilly. This
