:00:13. > :00:19.With your news now for the East Midlands, I'm Maurice Flynn.

:00:20. > :00:22.First, this lunchtime: An investigation is getting under way

:00:23. > :00:26.into the cause of a huge fire in the centre of Derby. It destroyed the

:00:27. > :00:29.roof of the Assembly Room's car park and, with it, the air conditioning,

:00:30. > :00:33.heating and plant machinery for the venue next door. The full scale of

:00:34. > :00:36.the structural damage is yet to be confirmed, but people are now being

:00:37. > :00:47.allowed back`in to collect their cars from the car park.

:00:48. > :00:54.Though is some bits of loose structure on the building, we are

:00:55. > :00:59.help making that safe. People can come and collect their cars. If they

:01:00. > :01:05.present themselves to the reception at the Council house, we will escort

:01:06. > :01:12.them over. The fire seems to have come from the plant room, the power

:01:13. > :01:18.station is above the car park. That will have an impact on our ability

:01:19. > :01:24.to run shows in the adjoining theatre, and leisure centre.

:01:25. > :01:28.A 20`year`old man has been charged, following an incident in the

:01:29. > :01:31.Hucknall area of Nottingham. Reece Theison, of no fixed address, was

:01:32. > :01:35.charged with theft, criminal damage, and possession of a firearm with

:01:36. > :01:38.intent to cause fear or violence. It follows a ten`hour stand`off with

:01:39. > :01:41.police in Hucknall, which ended in the early hours of Friday morning,

:01:42. > :01:43.near a snooker club in the town. He's appearing before magistrates in

:01:44. > :01:47.the city today. Plans for a new cycle track on part

:01:48. > :01:50.of a wildlife sanctuary in Derby have been scrapped. The plans had

:01:51. > :02:03.been approved, despite strong opposition. But a legal challenge by

:02:04. > :02:06.Derbyshire Wildlife Trust saw work on`site delayed. It can't now be

:02:07. > :02:09.completed before the bird nesting season, so risks costing more than

:02:10. > :02:11.the original budget. As a result, the council says it's no longer a

:02:12. > :02:15.viable option. Some big matches on today in the

:02:16. > :02:17.football for our local sides. Leicester host Blackpool, with the

:02:18. > :02:20.Foxes looking to further cement their automatic promotion place.

:02:21. > :02:24.Forest are hoping to end a winless run, and try to keep in their

:02:25. > :02:26.play`off place, as they host Doncaster.

:02:27. > :02:29.And Derby County haven't scored in their last three games, and are

:02:30. > :02:31.looking to reverse that, as they head to Reading.

:02:32. > :02:34.In League One, Notts County face Tranmere, hoping to lift themselves

:02:35. > :02:36.from the bottom of the table. And, in League Two, Mansfield Town

:02:37. > :02:47.face Northampton. The skies are now clearing nicely,

:02:48. > :02:55.it will stay fine and dry. After an early`morning shower, a line of

:02:56. > :03:01.showers developed, but they have not developed. A brisk westerly wind,

:03:02. > :03:06.maximum temperature of 15 Celsius this afternoon. Overnight, the

:03:07. > :03:11.breeze continues, clearer skies in the early part of the evening,

:03:12. > :03:16.before cloud increases. Minimum temperature, eight Celsius, a mild

:03:17. > :03:21.night. Tomorrow, the better part of the day will be the only morning. We

:03:22. > :03:29.hold onto brighter weather, but there is some cloud. The high

:03:30. > :03:32.pressure is starting to sink further south but at the moment, quite

:03:33. > :03:40.breezy, but try next week. `` dry. Join us again at 7.10pm.
