:00:00. > 3:59:59first look at the papers over on the BBC News Channel, but now on BBC

:00:00. > :00:17.One, it's And now the news for the East

:00:18. > :00:19.Midlands, I'm Dominic Heale. Good evening.

:00:20. > :00:22.First tonight, a terrorism trial has been shown home`made videos which

:00:23. > :00:25.were discovered in the bedroom of a Leicestershire teenager. Thdy show

:00:26. > :00:28.Michael Piggin making threats to kill Muslims. The eighteen`xear`old

:00:29. > :00:33.from Loughborough has denied preparing weapons and plans for a

:00:34. > :00:39.Columbine High School`style attack. Our social affairs correspondent,

:00:40. > :00:42.Jeremy Ball, reports. The jury has been showing sdveral

:00:43. > :00:45.videos that were found when the police searched Michael Piggin's

:00:46. > :00:48.home here on Beaumont Road hn Loughborough. They were found along

:00:49. > :00:53.with weapons and notes about planning an attack. Now in some of

:00:54. > :00:57.the clips he talks about thd URA, and the jury has been told that that

:00:58. > :01:00.stands for the Urban Revolutionary Army. In this clip, Michael Piggin

:01:01. > :01:06.talks about what they want to achieve. Hello great people of the

:01:07. > :01:09.United Kingdom, we are the TRA. We support the EDL and the Knights

:01:10. > :01:13.Templar. We are against the Muslim invasion of our country. Today the

:01:14. > :01:16.Old Bailey has also seen several clips of Michael Piggin testing

:01:17. > :01:19.Molotov cocktails. You hear him talking about a weapons test,

:01:20. > :01:22.talking about making bombs. The jury has also been shown clips of him

:01:23. > :01:28.using this air pistol for t`rget practice and using a cross bow too.

:01:29. > :01:31.The prosecution say, taken together with other evidence, it all shows

:01:32. > :01:36.that Michael Piggin was serhous about preparing an act of tdrrorism.

:01:37. > :01:39.The jury is going to have to decide if he really was serious about

:01:40. > :01:45.carrying out an attack. Jerdmy Ball, BBC Midlands Today, Loughborough.

:01:46. > :01:48.An exact cause still hasn't been established for an explosion at

:01:49. > :01:51.flats on the edge of Derby city centre. It happened in the laundry

:01:52. > :01:56.room of Kenneth House on Ag`rd Street yesterday morning. No`one was

:01:57. > :02:00.injured. The Fire Service h`s ruled out a gas leak and is now blaming a

:02:01. > :02:03.build`up of pressure in a hot water storage tank.

:02:04. > :02:07.Hundreds of comments about ` NHS trust have been removed frol the NHS

:02:08. > :02:12.Choices website because it hs not clear who wrote them ` staff or

:02:13. > :02:16.patients. The concern follows a BBC Newsnight investigation. Tonight

:02:17. > :02:18.though, Nottinghamshire health care insisted the comments were genuine.

:02:19. > :02:27.Our health correspondent, Rob Sissons, explains.

:02:28. > :02:31.Opinions, they are everywhere. The NHS tells us to have our sax. You

:02:32. > :02:34.can post on review sites, ghve gold stars. But what is reliable on the

:02:35. > :02:37.Internet? Authors have got hnto trouble reviewing their own books.

:02:38. > :02:45.Are review sites for health open to the same abuse? Staff in thd NHS are

:02:46. > :02:48.reporting data, I mean that is wrong. The day`to`day reporting is

:02:49. > :02:53.skewing the results. That h`s to be wrong. The Nottinghamshire health

:02:54. > :02:56.care NHS Trust encourages comment on the website Patient Opinion.

:02:57. > :02:59.However, an investigation bx the BBC's Newsnight programme found that

:03:00. > :03:04.half the reviews, more than 100 were posted by NHS staff on behalf

:03:05. > :03:08.of patients. More troubling, the same comments were put on an NHS

:03:09. > :03:11.website without making clear which were posted by staff. NHS Choices

:03:12. > :03:14.has now removed more than 600 reviews of Nottinghamshire health

:03:15. > :03:17.care, but the Trust says just because the staff typed the comments

:03:18. > :03:26.does not mean it is not what patients thought. I think it is

:03:27. > :03:30.justified for staff to sometimes post on behalf of patients, when

:03:31. > :03:33.those patients are elderly `nd cannot use the technology to leave

:03:34. > :03:37.their comments. We believe that our staff are honest and open about what

:03:38. > :03:40.is happening and the culturd of the organisation is to listen to people

:03:41. > :03:44.and to listen authentically and honestly. The word on the street in

:03:45. > :03:49.Loughborough ` not everyone takes the word of Internet reviews at face

:03:50. > :03:54.value. If it is too extreme one way, I think the person has a grtdge If

:03:55. > :03:58.it is too far the other way, I think why is that person doing th`t? I

:03:59. > :04:02.always look at them but I don't know if I trust them are not. I would say

:04:03. > :04:05.they're fairly reliable. It is ultimately about transparency.

:04:06. > :04:08.Patient Opinion is looking `t how to spell out more clearly the source of

:04:09. > :04:12.comments. Rob Sissons, BBC West Midlands Today.

:04:13. > :04:16.People in a part of Leicestdr that was divided by protests and racial

:04:17. > :04:20.tension now say it is a thrhving community. A year and a half ago

:04:21. > :04:26.there was a heavy police prdsence in Thurnby Lodge as people argted over

:04:27. > :04:29.the use of local community centres. As Simon Ward has been findhng out,

:04:30. > :04:33.much of that division has now been healed.

:04:34. > :04:36.This food bank is run by a Luslim group and other volunteers. The vast

:04:37. > :04:41.majority of users are non`Mtslim, including Julie who is pickhng up

:04:42. > :04:45.supplies. At the end of the day we are all living on the same dstate so

:04:46. > :04:50.we have to get on with each other. It sets a route for your kids so

:04:51. > :04:54.they get on and there is no racism. So I think it is a good ide`. It was

:04:55. > :04:58.when the As`Salaam Trust wanted to continue using this former scout hut

:04:59. > :05:00.in Thurnby Lodge that the trouble began. There were regular protests

:05:01. > :05:04.towards the end of 2012. Sole opposed the group using the

:05:05. > :05:08.building. The bitter disputd took months to resolve. Now the @s`Salaam

:05:09. > :05:13.Trust use the Peace Centre building and the former protesters m`nage the

:05:14. > :05:16.old scout hut. They have made many improvements and say it is `

:05:17. > :05:20.thriving community facility. But they did not want to be intdrviewed

:05:21. > :05:25.on camera. Back at the Peacd Centre, they are very busy every Wednesday.

:05:26. > :05:29.If a person has a need, it could be anyone ` why not assist? Our

:05:30. > :05:32.religion exhorts us and teaches us about the rights of our neighbours

:05:33. > :05:41.and the people we see here `re our neighbours. The tension was

:05:42. > :05:44.sustained for a long period of time here on the Thurnby Lodge estate,

:05:45. > :05:48.and now, well things may not be perfect, but many say the community

:05:49. > :05:51.is now much more tolerant. H think people have recognised that

:05:52. > :05:59.everybody has their own views on things and things have really

:06:00. > :06:05.settled down. People here are very friendly and I find it very nice

:06:06. > :06:08.around this area. Theresa is a volunteer at another council

:06:09. > :06:11.community centre. She says that the former protesters wanted thd best

:06:12. > :06:15.for everyone. Having Thurnbx Lodge, because it is such a close

:06:16. > :06:19.community, I think they just did not want to lose things for the children

:06:20. > :06:26.in the area because so many things are being taken away. All those

:06:27. > :06:29.working for the community are planning even more improvemdnts and

:06:30. > :06:34.hoping the peace continues. Simon Ward, BBC East Midlands Tod`y,

:06:35. > :06:43.Thurnby Lodge. So it is goodbye from me, btt with

:06:44. > :06:47.your weather now here is Ch`rlie. Good evening. Things are set to turn

:06:48. > :06:55.much colder into tomorrow evening, but up until that point we hang on

:06:56. > :07:01.to a settled team. Things whll gradually cloud over, you would

:07:02. > :07:05.think the temperatures would still fall but actually the wind will keep

:07:06. > :07:12.that temperature at around six or seven Celsius. A cloudy start on

:07:13. > :07:20.Thursday. By the late morning things will start to clear up, brighter

:07:21. > :07:26.skies, and some sunshine. Some cloud will be brought towards us with some

:07:27. > :07:31.rain. We will see the temperatures fall. Temperatures around 12 degrees

:07:32. > :07:34.tomorrow, night it will be heavy in places.

:07:35. > :07:36.This is the outlook: Bright enough for Friday and the weekend but much

:07:37. > :07:53.colder and some of the showers could have a wintry nature.

:07:54. > :08:01.Cloud coming in from the Atlantic. When it moves through we will get

:08:02. > :08:05.cooler conditions with lively showers. But mild overnight with the

:08:06. > :08:12.south-westerly breeze dragging cloud across England and Wales. As you can

:08:13. > :08:15.see the heaviest rain and strongest winds overnight are confined to

:08:16. > :08:19.Scotland and northern Ireland. Wet and windy here but it is an mild

:08:20. > :08:26.night with the cloud cover and breeze. But, a miserable start to

:08:27. > :08:31.the day in Scotland. Wet and windy, gusty wind through the central

:08:32. > :08:34.lowlands in the morning. Up to 0 miles an hour and maybe more than

:08:35. > :08:36.that over some of the hills. Not pleasant in the morning rush-hour

:08:37. > :08:42.and not pleasant in Northern Ireland either. In England and Wales, a lot

:08:43. > :08:48.of cloud around but maybe a few breaks to the east of the Pennines.

:08:49. > :08:49.Cloudy skies elsewhere and drips and drops of
