:00:00. > :00:14.see more on all of today's stories on the BBC News Channel. Stay

:00:15. > :00:18.With your news now for the East Midlands, I'm Maurice Flynn. A

:00:19. > :00:22.church congregation has solved a century`old mystery about the fate

:00:23. > :00:26.of a Nottingham man. His name was discovered by chance by his niece on

:00:27. > :00:36.a war memorial, but no`one knew why it was there. James Roberson has

:00:37. > :00:39.more. Recently, Christine from Arnold in Nottingham was visiting St

:00:40. > :00:44.John's Church in Carrington for the first time in decades. During her

:00:45. > :00:49.visit she looked at the great War Memorial inside and stumbled by

:00:50. > :00:53.chance on her uncle's name. The family said she died in Rhodesia, as

:00:54. > :00:59.it was then, and I thought, why was he in Rhodesia? Her father served in

:01:00. > :01:05.the great War so Christine asked the church for help. Investigations by

:01:06. > :01:10.the congregation at the church revealed William had left the family

:01:11. > :01:17.home in Carrington and had served but in Northern Rhodesia, now

:01:18. > :01:21.Zambia, in Africa. He was in the Northern Rhodesian police and

:01:22. > :01:30.unfortunately, the pandemic of the flu in 1918 killed him on Christmas

:01:31. > :01:36.Eve. But he was mentioned twice in dispatches. So on behalf of St

:01:37. > :01:45.John's, I would like to present to you... The Commonwealth War Graves

:01:46. > :01:50.commission presented her with this. I am very happy to know how his life

:01:51. > :01:54.went and I'm sorry he died so early. Thanks to St John's and all of them

:01:55. > :02:02.finding out for me. It's a mystery solved.

:02:03. > :02:05.Derby County took on Nottingham Forest again today ` although this

:02:06. > :02:08.time it was for charity. Former players from both clubs were taking

:02:09. > :02:11.part in the Sport Relief Rivals match. Tom Brown was there. The

:02:12. > :02:17.second time this weekend, local breaking rights up for grabs. Family

:02:18. > :02:30.rivalries were put to the test. Can they get revenge today? Yes. No.

:02:31. > :02:34.Today Long Eaton hosted the match. Unlike yesterday, the Nottingham

:02:35. > :02:38.Forest fans had something to smile about. After going one up in the

:02:39. > :02:45.first half, they got a free kick. They reminded the fans that class is

:02:46. > :02:51.permanent. Another strike sealed the win. But today the real goal was

:02:52. > :02:55.raising money for charity. We have played against each other loads of

:02:56. > :03:04.times, and many other lads I have played with lots of times. It was

:03:05. > :03:09.great, it's been a grey day. The buckets are full to bursting for

:03:10. > :03:12.money. The crowd turnout, fantastic. If Leicester City are promoted next

:03:13. > :03:15.season, their head of recruitment says they already have key playing

:03:16. > :03:18.targets. Steve Walsh was speaking to BBC Late Kick Off, as they were

:03:19. > :03:24.given access`all`areas at the club's training ground. And if Leicester do

:03:25. > :03:29.return to the Premier League for the first time in a decade, do they need

:03:30. > :03:34.new players? I think it's just key areas where we feel either cover all

:03:35. > :03:39.an improvement. But we're going to run with what we have got, and from

:03:40. > :03:45.them, we will try and build in key areas, suppose that.

:03:46. > :03:49.In today's rugby, a six try triumph for Leicester Tigers against Exeter.

:03:50. > :03:52.Manu Tuilangi scored on his first home appearance since his comeback

:03:53. > :03:56.from injury ` seeing Tigers win 45`15. In the championship,

:03:57. > :04:00.Nottingham lost 17`11 at Cornish Pirates. Now a weekend of sunshine

:04:01. > :04:04.and showers can be annoying, or inspiring ` it would seem! Thanks

:04:05. > :04:07.for all your rainbow pictures this weekend. You'll find them on our

:04:08. > :04:10.Facebook page, including this one showing the end of the rainbow which

:04:11. > :04:14.Margaret shot at Carsington Water. No gold, but let's see now from

:04:15. > :04:19.Kaye, what the weather chucking our way next!

:04:20. > :04:27.We have a ridge of high pressure pushing in, helping to kill off the

:04:28. > :04:30.showers and break up the cloud. Clear skies tonight, with the winds

:04:31. > :04:37.easing down, we have a widespread frost on the cards. Look at these

:04:38. > :04:41.temperatures! Definitely a cold start the new working week but lots

:04:42. > :04:47.of lovely sunshine around through the morning. Some higher cloud

:04:48. > :04:50.rolling in, but drier, writer afternoon and it should feel a

:04:51. > :04:55.little warmer as well, with a slightly lighter wind

:04:56. > :05:07.that it from us. Tomorrow good night.

:05:08. > :05:16.Today's showers have almost gone from eastern areas, it will be a

:05:17. > :05:20.classic radiation night, clear skies, light winds, temperatures

:05:21. > :05:25.tumbling. The night could still get down to -6 in rural Scotland and

:05:26. > :05:31.northern England, the coldest it has been for quite a few months. It will

:05:32. > :05:35.not be as cold elsewhere. Cloud arrives ahead of the weather front,

:05:36. > :05:41.which brings rain from the Atlantic to western parts of the UK. Further

:05:42. > :05:46.east, it will be dry. Quite a bit of sunshine, so a good-looking day

:05:47. > :05:50.across Scotland. Western areas tending to cloud over later. It will

:05:51. > :05:56.cloud over quickly in Northern Ireland. For northern England,

:05:57. > :06:02.through the Midlands, eastern England, it will be a bright and

:06:03. > :06:08.sunny day. Hazy for the afternoon, but double figures after the frosty

:06:09. > :06:09.start. But whether for Wales and the south-west of
