:00:13. > :00:16.Now the news for the East Mhdlands, I'm Anne Davies.

:00:17. > :00:22.Good evening. First tonight: A court's he`rd how a

:00:23. > :00:24.rambler was gored to death by a bull. Roger Freeman from

:00:25. > :00:28.Leicestershire was walking `cross a field in Nottinghamshire whdn the

:00:29. > :00:31.animal charged him and his wife She survived, but he was killed. The

:00:32. > :00:33.prosecution says the bull's owner, Paul Waterfall, committed

:00:34. > :00:41.manslaughter because of gross negligence. He denies the charge.

:00:42. > :00:49.James Roberson reports. O'Reilly at Nottingham Crown Court

:00:50. > :00:54.today Paul Waterfall is acctsed of a gross breach of his duty of care to

:00:55. > :01:00.walkers who used one of his fields. The court heard that in 2010 Glenys

:01:01. > :01:03.and Roger Freeman were walkhng from wanting to `` Nottingham to

:01:04. > :01:07.Loughborough when they arrived at the field. Halfway across they

:01:08. > :01:12.realised their work allows `` owls and a bull in the field. Gldnys

:01:13. > :01:18.hurried ahead of Roger and she heard a noise behind her. She turned and

:01:19. > :01:22.Roger had been hit by the btll. It repeatedly attacked them, Goring and

:01:23. > :01:27.stamping on Roger and tossing him in the air. The last thing she heard

:01:28. > :01:33.him cry was, I am sorry, I just cannot get us out of this. Lrs

:01:34. > :01:36.Freeman survived but Mr Fredman died of multiple injuries. The court also

:01:37. > :02:12.heard there had been another incident with the bull in the same

:02:13. > :02:14.field six months before involving electricity engineers who wdre

:02:15. > :02:17.working on supply there. Thd two men tried to fend them off with rods

:02:18. > :02:20.that they carry and one man`ged to escape over barbed wire and into a

:02:21. > :02:22.hedge and the other got out of the field and ran around to where his

:02:23. > :02:25.colleague was only to find the bull standing over both of them `s they

:02:26. > :02:27.cowered in a ditch. They were eventually saved by Paul Waterfall

:02:28. > :02:29.who arrived either digging lachine. It is alleged there was another

:02:30. > :02:32.incident two weeks before Roger Freeman died. The prosecution allege

:02:33. > :02:34.that Paul Waterfall was well aware that the bull was aggressivd and

:02:35. > :02:36.posed a threat to walkers. Paul Waterfall belies `` denies gross

:02:37. > :02:39.negligence leading to mansl`ughter. A murder investigation has begun

:02:40. > :02:42.after the body of a woman w`s found in Derby. She was discovered behind

:02:43. > :02:46.homes in Hartington Street xesterday morning. It's an area known for high

:02:47. > :02:50.levels of crime. Police say they're keeping an open mind about how the

:02:51. > :02:53.woman, who was in her 30s, died Train lines across the East Midlands

:02:54. > :02:56.were targeted by vandals or trespassers more than 500 thmes last

:02:57. > :02:58.year. Network Rail and Brithsh Transport Police are tackling the

:02:59. > :03:08.problem by reintroducing safety trains, as Jo Healey reports.

:03:09. > :03:14.Look at the risk they are rtnning. Trains travel up to 125 milds an

:03:15. > :03:18.hour and can take a mile and a quarter to stop. If someone is on

:03:19. > :03:23.the tracks train cannot stop quickly. This attack and thhs

:03:24. > :03:27.trespassing happened locallx. These are reasons why safety trains had

:03:28. > :03:33.returned to the East Midlands. From the outside this looks like a normal

:03:34. > :03:37.train but it is staffed by officers from British Transport Police and

:03:38. > :03:42.staff from British rail. If they see anything going on that should not

:03:43. > :03:49.be, like trespassing, they will The train right away and get out and

:03:50. > :03:54.deal with it. There were 57 reports of trespassing and vandalisl on this

:03:55. > :04:00.line last year. On tracks across the East Midlands there were more than

:04:01. > :04:05.500 incidents, with 14 reported just last week. The delays they caused

:04:06. > :04:11.cost Network Rail ?1.3 millhon a year in compensation. We responded

:04:12. > :04:15.last week two a fatality and as we were responding we had people

:04:16. > :04:20.trespassing nearby as well. Caution, fine, jail, all penalties pdople

:04:21. > :04:34.doing this sort of thing can be faced with. They are hoping the new

:04:35. > :04:37.patrols. Them in their tracks. `` they are hoping that these new

:04:38. > :04:39.patrols will stop them in their tracks.

:04:40. > :04:42.There's a call for more bushnesses to start exporting to Brazil. A

:04:43. > :04:46.trade mission from the East Midlands has been out to the city of Sao

:04:47. > :04:49.Paulo to meet potential customers and partners. Here's Mike O'Sullivan

:04:50. > :04:52.with the first in a series of special reports from South @merica.

:04:53. > :04:57.They call the Brazilian supdr city of Sao Paulo the New York of the

:04:58. > :05:01.tropics. It is a World Cup venue, a place for World Cup protest as

:05:02. > :05:06.well. It is big with 30 million people and it is big on bushness.

:05:07. > :05:11.Doing business in Sao Paulo means getting around the legendarx traffic

:05:12. > :05:16.problem. Some Brazilians do it by helicopter. This building h`s a

:05:17. > :05:20.helipad 24 stories up. Can our businesses get to lift off hn this

:05:21. > :05:25.economic powerhouse to make their export ambitions take flight?

:05:26. > :05:30.Six businesses and organisations have come here on a four`dax trade

:05:31. > :05:36.mission from the East Midlands. This is their market briefing from UK

:05:37. > :05:45.Trade Investment, the govdrnment trade agency that setup the trip.

:05:46. > :05:50.Back home this man's firm elploys 11 people making specialist eqtipment

:05:51. > :05:55.for everything from laboratories to Labour `` laser printers. Wd have to

:05:56. > :05:59.export, the market in the UK is pretty saturated. We are dohng OK in

:06:00. > :06:03.the States which will continue to grow but we must find growth

:06:04. > :06:07.elsewhere as well. Many companies are not making Brazil a high

:06:08. > :06:12.priority. We have set a target to double our exports which is

:06:13. > :06:16.achievable but stretching. They say that this could be a city and

:06:17. > :06:21.country that stretches the horizons of our businesses.

:06:22. > :06:23.Tomorrow night Mike looks at how the Triumph motorcycle company hs taking

:06:24. > :06:27.part in that Brazilian economic miracle.

:06:28. > :06:29.That's your news, so it's goodbye from me, but with your weather now,

:06:30. > :06:36.here's Anna Church. from me, but with

:06:37. > :06:41.We have had some lively weather around today. We have had spually

:06:42. > :06:47.winds and is `` squally winds and heavy rain. The active weather front

:06:48. > :06:50.has cleared away now so things are settling down for tomorrow. It will

:06:51. > :06:56.be drier and brighter with lore sunshine. It stays breezy and it

:06:57. > :07:00.will be cooler. The wind will stay strong tonight. It blows in the

:07:01. > :07:10.showers and will stay dry whth clear spells. It is a much cooler and

:07:11. > :07:14.fresher night. Tomorrow morning will be bright and breezy with showers

:07:15. > :07:18.first thing that they will fade away in the afternoon. The presstre will

:07:19. > :07:21.build and a lot of sunshine later in the day. It stays windy and you will

:07:22. > :07:27.notice the difference with Hakula feel to things. `` a cooler feel to

:07:28. > :07:34.things. Good night. getting up to around 14 degrees.

:07:35. > :07:37.Unsettled conditions through the next few days. A bit of rain around

:07:38. > :07:45.on Friday but with more on that I will hand you over to Nina Ridge.

:07:46. > :07:49.The weekend brought some mild nights. Signs of a change across

:07:50. > :07:54.Northern Ireland and Scotland, but for England and Wales many places

:07:55. > :07:58.began the day at ten to 13 degrees. That contrast has been cleared away

:07:59. > :08:02.so by tomorrow morning a chillier start to the day and typical

:08:03. > :08:08.temperatures will be five to seven degrees. An active cold front, heavy

:08:09. > :08:13.rain and wind. We have some showers following on from behind. On the

:08:14. > :08:21.satellite picture, a main low-pressure clearing out into the

:08:22. > :08:26.North Sea. In between the showers through the night there will be

:08:27. > :08:28.clearer spells and that allows the temperatures to drop away. The

:08:29. > :08:29.westerly breeze will
