:00:00. > :00:17.Mike Wooldridge, BBC News, Lahore. There's more throughout the

:00:18. > :00:20.With your news for the East Midlands, I'm Maurice Flynn. A

:00:21. > :00:24.scheme to compensate traders affected by work on Nottingham's

:00:25. > :00:27.tram network has been expanded. Parts of Beeston and Chilwell have

:00:28. > :00:37.been closed for months to allow for construction. Firms say it's hit

:00:38. > :00:42.business hard. Amy Harris reports. This woman has been running this

:00:43. > :00:49.cycle shop in Beeston 421 years. But she is now facing closure, with

:00:50. > :00:55.takings by half. Getting into Beeston has been so difficult that

:00:56. > :01:01.people have come because they are being told it is not affected. When

:01:02. > :01:06.they come and sit in a queue of traffic to 40 minutes, they do not

:01:07. > :01:11.come back. Compensation had been restricted to businesses closest to

:01:12. > :01:15.the works, which meant that she and others missed out. Now

:01:16. > :01:19.Nottinghamshire County Council is extending the area covered. In a

:01:20. > :01:25.statement the council says it is committed to supporting the vitality

:01:26. > :01:29.of Beeston and Chilwell. It said it will consider future applications

:01:30. > :01:32.from businesses outside the financial assistance area who can

:01:33. > :01:37.demonstrate they have been directly affected by the works. It has been

:01:38. > :01:42.cautiously welcomed by campaigners, who have petitioned for action. Now

:01:43. > :01:47.we need to put the money in because we are concerned there will not be

:01:48. > :01:53.enough money. There is two and a half million, but we believe we need

:01:54. > :01:56.more. The campaign now evolves to increase the cash available. At

:01:57. > :02:01.least six businesses have closed, with others leaving and with weeks

:02:02. > :02:07.of travel disruption ahead, campaigners want the pay`outs to

:02:08. > :02:10.grow, not the number of casualties. The Heritage Lottery is helping to

:02:11. > :02:13.remember 30 soldiers from one Leicestershire village killed in

:02:14. > :02:16.World War I. ?8,000 will allow historians in Wymeswold to write a

:02:17. > :02:21.book and create a website about the men. There were only around 700

:02:22. > :02:29.people in the village when they died.

:02:30. > :02:36.Around the country is, generally, 10% of the men who served were

:02:37. > :02:42.killed. In Wymeswold, it looks, so far, about 30% of the men who served

:02:43. > :02:48.were killed, possibly higher. We are talking about the slaughter of those

:02:49. > :02:50.men. Ahead of today's results, and non`league football sides in

:02:51. > :02:53.Nottinghamshire hosted a ground hop today. It saw kick`off times

:02:54. > :02:56.staggered at Keyworth, Wollaton, Ruddington and West Bridgford, so

:02:57. > :02:59.fans could go to matches back to back. Crowds also increased, with

:03:00. > :03:08.some fans travelling from Japan, Holland and Sweden. I love the

:03:09. > :03:13.atmosphere. I love the people here. I like to travel and see new places

:03:14. > :03:17.and teams and there are a lot of nice people here. Normally there

:03:18. > :03:23.would be 30, 40 people here and today there is up to 300. There are

:03:24. > :03:30.benefits. It is cold. I have been known to come in the snow. All of

:03:31. > :03:33.today's football fixtures started later than usual to allow for a

:03:34. > :03:36.minute's silence in memory of the Hillsborough disaster. It's 25 years

:03:37. > :03:41.this week since 96 people died during the Forest and Liverpool FA

:03:42. > :03:45.Cup semi`final. Once games got under way, Derby all but booked their

:03:46. > :03:48.place in the play`offs after coming from behind to beat Huddersfield

:03:49. > :03:51.3`1. The Rams are 11 points clear of seventh, with four games to go.

:03:52. > :03:55.Forest's 5`2 defeat at QPR means it's 12 games without a win for

:03:56. > :03:59.them. In League One, a 4`2 win for Notts County over Port Vale sees the

:04:00. > :04:01.Magpies out of the relegation zone. And in League Two, Mansfield beat

:04:02. > :04:04.Rochdale 3`0. Rugby and Leicester Tigers beat

:04:05. > :04:08.London Wasps 27`15. Nottingham narrowly lost at Ealing ` 37`35.

:04:09. > :04:12.Let's check the latest on the weather. Kaye has our forecast.

:04:13. > :04:18.weather. Kaye has We have had a cloudy day with a fuse

:04:19. > :04:23.spots of rain. That is clearing. It sets us up for a decent day

:04:24. > :04:28.tomorrow. We will stay dry all day long and there should be more

:04:29. > :04:32.sunshine. The cloud will break up behind the raid moving southwards.

:04:33. > :04:36.It is clear tonight, turning cold of for sum of us. It will be a cracking

:04:37. > :04:42.start tomorrow with lots of sunshine. We are staying dry and

:04:43. > :04:48.bright all day long. It should not feel too bad. We are staying fairly

:04:49. > :04:53.settled into next week with a lot of sunshine around. If anything, it is

:04:54. > :04:57.getting warmer. The Beat is under way already on

:04:58. > :05:01.your local BBC Radio station. You're not too late to take part in the

:05:02. > :05:04.musical jungle, nor to catch Bud, from Nottinghamshire. Join Dean and

:05:05. > :05:06.the team to hear more from her. Back with more for you, same time

:05:07. > :05:19.tomorrow, 6:50pm. Bye for We start with a look at the latest

:05:20. > :05:23.satellite sequence, because it shows what has been going on over the last

:05:24. > :05:27.few hours. This band of cloud has been slipping south across England

:05:28. > :05:30.and Wales. A bit of patchy rain to come from that, but nothing of

:05:31. > :05:35.significance. Quite the story across the north of Scotland . And some

:05:36. > :05:40.fairly frequent showers to the north and west of Scotland. That is it by

:05:41. > :05:46.dawn. Most places will see clear spells and it wouldn't turn -- it

:05:47. > :05:51.will turn cold, particularly in raw areas. In the morning, one or two

:05:52. > :05:56.showers along the northern coast of Ireland. But the south and east are

:05:57. > :06:00.doing well in the morning. Bright and breezy across the north of

:06:01. > :06:05.England. A decent start to the day. Further south, plenty more

:06:06. > :06:06.sunshine, although around some of the hills, there might be missed
