:00:00. > :00:15.hear views on immigration. That's all from us. Now

:00:16. > :00:22.And now the news for the East Midlands, I'm Anne Davies.

:00:23. > :00:25.First tonight, a father has paid a moving tribute to his son who died

:00:26. > :00:27.in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. Flight Lieuten`nt

:00:28. > :00:31.Rakesh Chauhan, from Leicestershire, was one of five servicemen killed

:00:32. > :00:35.when their Lynx came down at the weekend. The 29`year`old worked in

:00:36. > :00:37.the RAF's Intelligence Branch. And today, in an exclusive television

:00:38. > :00:46.interview, his father Kishor Chauhan spoke to us from the family home in

:00:47. > :00:54.Cropston. Rakesh was passionate very in what he did, anything he wanted,

:00:55. > :00:59.he did. He wanted to do the best of his ability and wanted it done in a

:01:00. > :01:08.particular way. He was meticulous. He was also very very livelx and he

:01:09. > :01:14.was a natural leader of men. He was very straightforward. He always had

:01:15. > :01:19.this passion to be in the ahr force. He has aways been in the cadets or

:01:20. > :01:24.at university he was in the Air Corps and when he left univdrsity he

:01:25. > :01:27.joined the air force. Of cotrse when somebody goes on a tour you always

:01:28. > :01:31.are apprehensive for their safety but we felt that he was safd and the

:01:32. > :01:41.first tour was the most difficult one though none of them werd easy.

:01:42. > :01:45.The first was very difficult but by the third trip we were kind of

:01:46. > :01:57.reconciled to the fact he would be safe. Unfortunately, this tragic

:01:58. > :02:01.accident happened. We are not sure of the details yet, all I know is

:02:02. > :02:08.the helicopter came down ne`r Kandahar Airport and we don't know

:02:09. > :02:11.what the cause was. Only last Saturday, my wife talked to him on

:02:12. > :02:25.Skype and saw his face after three months and she was...

:02:26. > :02:32...Very pleased to see him and that is the last we spoke to him. We had

:02:33. > :02:38.so many dreams for him. We had this life planned out. I think hd had his

:02:39. > :02:43.life planned out. And unfortunately things didn't turn out the way we

:02:44. > :02:49.had wanted or planned. Rakesh was passionate about his work btt he was

:02:50. > :02:52.passionate about the countrx. He was very proud of being British and he

:02:53. > :03:07.was very proud to have done something for his country and now he

:03:08. > :03:10.has paid the ultimate price. The jury in a murder trial left the

:03:11. > :03:13.courtroom today to see for themselves the spot where a mother

:03:14. > :03:17.and her three children died in a devastating house fire. A g`ng of

:03:18. > :03:20.eight men are accused of thd alleged botched arson attack which claimed

:03:21. > :03:25.the family's lives last September. Sarah Teale has been at the scene in

:03:26. > :03:28.Leicester. The murder trial was taken `way from

:03:29. > :03:34.the formality of Nottingham Crown's Number One Court to visit the scene

:03:35. > :03:37.of the crime today. The jurx, the judge and the legal teams h`ve been

:03:38. > :03:41.brought here to Wood Hill in Leicester to see for themselves some

:03:42. > :03:49.of the key areas in this trhal and the house itself where Shehnila

:03:50. > :03:52.Taufiq and her children died. Eight defendants are on trial acctsed of

:03:53. > :03:58.deliberately setting fire to the terraced property in a revenge

:03:59. > :04:00.attack on the wrong house. The jury, who we can't identify, were watched

:04:01. > :04:02.by the judge, Justice John Griffith`Williams, and the

:04:03. > :04:10.prosecution barrister Richard Latham QC. The jury spent several linutes

:04:11. > :04:14.looking at the flowers placdd on the doorstep of the boarded up house and

:04:15. > :04:21.heard how petrol was poured through the letterbox and ignited. The jury

:04:22. > :04:25.have been told the defendants drove past the house here on Wood Hill in

:04:26. > :04:28.two cars with their headlights off, vehicles parked up at the bottom of

:04:29. > :04:38.the road before eight defendants walked back up the hill and set fire

:04:39. > :04:41.to the house. The jury was shown a house two doors down, the alleged

:04:42. > :04:47.intended target for the arson attack. The prosecution say this was

:04:48. > :04:51.where the mother of one of the men lived who the gang believed was

:04:52. > :04:57.involved in an attack on thdir friend, 20`year`old football coach

:04:58. > :05:00.Antoin Akpom. The jury were taken to Kent Street where he had bedn

:05:01. > :05:05.fatally stabbed just seven hours before the fire last September. The

:05:06. > :05:15.eight defendants, seven men and a youth, all deny four separate counts

:05:16. > :05:18.of murder. The trial contintes. The parents of a Leicestershire man

:05:19. > :05:21.who died hours after being sent home from hospital are hoping a new

:05:22. > :05:26.inquest which resumed today will finally reveal the truth. John

:05:27. > :05:29.Moore`Robinson died eight ydars ago from a ruptured spleen after coming

:05:30. > :05:34.off his mountain bike at Cannock Chase. The 20`year`old ended up at

:05:35. > :05:38.Stafford Hospital. Today's hnquest heard the A department, which has

:05:39. > :05:41.been at the centre of a hugd scandal, was understaffed when he

:05:42. > :05:52.went there. His parents say they just want answers. We want `ll the

:05:53. > :05:55.evidence to be heard and an honest and truthful conclusion to come out

:05:56. > :06:02.of this. For the last eight years, we have lived his death and will

:06:03. > :06:08.always grieve his death. He loved life, he was a fitness fanatic. He

:06:09. > :06:14.was a gentle giant, he loved his work, loved life.

:06:15. > :06:17.Mining communities can now `pply for a share of a ?1million fund for

:06:18. > :06:19.projects operating near forler coalfields. The Coalfields

:06:20. > :06:22.Regeneration Trust is distrhbuting grants of up to ?10,000 to community

:06:23. > :06:25.organisations and social enterprises. The grants programme

:06:26. > :06:28.was set up in 2011 to develop grass roots activities that have `

:06:29. > :06:34.positive impact on coalfields communities. That's your news. So,

:07:57. > :08:03.produced a lot of heavy and thundery downpours. A lot of rain falling in

:08:04. > :08:10.one hour at Hurn airport. There are some showers around the Bristol
