:01:36. > :01:38.This time it's the retail sector leading the way.

:01:55. > :02:02.staff and have seen a major increase in orders. We used to have hardly

:02:20. > :02:25.ago and is growing twice as fast as this time last year. Hotspots

:02:34. > :02:39.not the city 's leading the way Leicester, Derby and Nottingham also
:02:40. > :02:46.blew the output but for now the recovery is moving faster elsewhere.

:03:36. > :03:42.picture is more complicated. The region has seen the biggest drop in
:03:43. > :03:46.wages in the country, a loss of around ?36 per week compared to the
:03:47. > :03:53.previous year. So what does this growth mean for those who lhve here?
:03:54. > :03:59.I am feeling the pinch more than four or five years ago. Everything
:04:00. > :04:05.is going up and we have had no pay rise. We have been lucky, mx husband
:04:06. > :04:14.has had a PI is at work which made things easier. The macro thhs year I
:04:15. > :04:18.have been on holiday twice. The region has moved to national leader
:04:19. > :04:25.and for companies like this one it is looking like a promising road
:04:26. > :04:33.ahead. First there was good news, then bad news, what is going on
:04:34. > :04:36.Mixed signals. We were told unemployment was falling thdn we
:04:37. > :04:42.were told our wages are falling in the same period, then we ard told
:04:43. > :04:48.the region is the fastest`growing in England for 2014. The truth is, the
:04:49. > :04:53.economic recovery is not a simple picture. In the first three months
:04:54. > :04:58.of this year the East Midlands was best for economic growth in England.
:04:59. > :05:03.That was largely due to manufacturing. When you look at the
:05:04. > :05:11.second quarter, the picture emerging is that the service sector hs doing
:05:12. > :05:13.particularly well. We heard about that company in the piece, retail
:05:14. > :05:21.distribution. They are quitd different. The truth is, anx
:05:22. > :05:25.recovery is welcome but I think what a load of business leaders `nd the
:05:26. > :05:31.government will be hoping for is for sustained growth. We will bd hoping
:05:32. > :05:35.for manufacturing and possibly exports as well. We will le`ve it

:07:45. > :07:52.and likewise cyclists accept drivers aren't there and give them courtesy.
