:00:00. > :00:13.Now it's time for the news where you are.

:00:14. > :00:15.And now the news for the East Midlands.

:00:16. > :00:20.There's a stark warning from emergency workers this weekend,

:00:21. > :00:24.Last New Year, East Midlands Ambulance service took more

:00:25. > :00:30.This year they're expecting even more but stress

:00:31. > :00:32.they don't have an endless supply of ambulances.

:00:33. > :00:48.New Year's Eve, the fireworks and the fun and the flip side. In the

:00:49. > :00:54.first six hours 2016, they received more than 1000 emergency calls, one

:00:55. > :00:58.every 18 seconds and twice the number they expect on a normal

:00:59. > :01:04.night. Yet many so-called emergency is simply do not need to be taken by

:01:05. > :01:10.ambulance to hospital. That is what this mobile treatment centre is

:01:11. > :01:14.about. We base this in the town centre at the clock tower, there

:01:15. > :01:20.were nurses and a paramedic and we treat anybody been injured or drunk

:01:21. > :01:25.too much, two beds and the idea is we avoid sending patients to

:01:26. > :01:30.hospital. That is welcome news to the overstretched A departments.

:01:31. > :01:34.We are challenged at this time of year, large numbers of unwell

:01:35. > :01:40.patients and all we want is for the right patients to get the right

:01:41. > :01:45.place and if you are not as unwell, look at the triage centre. Those

:01:46. > :01:48.centres like this one have secure back-up. This allows us to have a

:01:49. > :01:53.police person working with the ambulance person to make sure we can

:01:54. > :01:58.work safely and deliver the best care to the patient. Of the patients

:01:59. > :02:03.treated on this unit in Leicester over Christmas weekend, 50% avoided

:02:04. > :02:07.being taken to hospital. They expect a huge spike in call-outs this

:02:08. > :02:17.weekend but hope the warning to drink responsibly will allow more

:02:18. > :02:21.people to have a happy New Year. A postmortem has failed to find the

:02:22. > :02:22.cause of death for 17 discovered on Christmas Day.

:02:23. > :02:25.The body of Han Lam was found near Heanor Memorial Park, and identified

:02:26. > :02:28.The Coroner is now asking for the public's help

:02:29. > :02:31.in finding his next of kin, while further tests are carried out.

:02:32. > :02:34.Meanwhile Police want to hear from anyone who saw a dark grey

:02:35. > :02:37.Toyota Avensis in the area, at any point over the festivities.

:02:38. > :02:39.A Derby mum is looking forward to 2017, after surviving

:02:40. > :02:43.a near-fatal brain bleed while on holiday in Greece.

:02:44. > :02:46.Katy Head says she's been delighted to be able to share

:02:47. > :02:48.Christmas with her family, after falling critically

:02:49. > :03:05.That is where we live, we got on a plane in Birmingham. Back home in

:03:06. > :03:11.Derby, Katie and her son recall the traumatic moment last October when

:03:12. > :03:16.on holiday in Greece she suddenly fell ill. As I was swimming, got a

:03:17. > :03:20.pain on the right-hand side of my neck and I knew something wasn't

:03:21. > :03:26.right so I shouted out to Craig and he realised something was wrong and

:03:27. > :03:30.that is the last thing I remember. During a boat trip, an aneurysm

:03:31. > :03:35.burst in her brain while swimming. She had to be airlifted to a

:03:36. > :03:39.specialist hospital in Athens where Greek surgeons operated to save her.

:03:40. > :03:44.Everybody told me what a great job they did and if it wasn't for them,

:03:45. > :03:50.and acting cabbie did, I would not be here for my boys. Christmas was

:03:51. > :03:57.amazing, we made the most of it this year. Last month, she was flown home

:03:58. > :04:03.and is slowly recovering and looking forward to next year and enjoying

:04:04. > :04:09.family time. All I wanted was how to behave Christmas so we can have

:04:10. > :04:17.dinner and played together. No going on holiday or any boat trips!

:04:18. > :04:18.Definitely not. But, no, we are doing all right. Looking forward to

:04:19. > :04:24.it. Back to normal. A new MRI scanner is being used

:04:25. > :04:27.in the East Midlands specifically The mobile facility is one

:04:28. > :04:31.of only two mobile scanners One is in Cambridge,

:04:32. > :04:34.the other in Derbyshire from where our Health Correspondent

:04:35. > :04:37.Rob Sissons reports. If you'd ever had an MRI scan, you

:04:38. > :04:43.know it can be noisy and it can feel claustrophobic. This new mobile

:04:44. > :04:46.scanner fund by care UK doesn't eliminate the noise, but it is

:04:47. > :04:49.quieter and quicker than its Because it's new and bright

:04:50. > :05:10.and airy, the patients feel It helped diagnose

:05:11. > :05:18.a hole in his ankle. When you are like

:05:19. > :05:23.this, with the hands up, you think yourself,

:05:24. > :05:26.like you're in a tunnel. I can understand people

:05:27. > :05:43.getting frightened. It's been confirmed,

:05:44. > :05:45.that a woman from Nottingham has broken the world record

:05:46. > :05:47.for the furthest distance cycled Endurance sportswoman Kaizer Tylen

:05:48. > :05:50.travelled over 50,000 kilometres, beating the record set in 1938

:05:51. > :05:54.by Billie Fleming. Kaizer's year long journey has

:05:55. > :05:57.seen her travel through England, France, Belgium, The Netherlands,

:05:58. > :06:01.Sweden and Finland. In sport, Nottingham Forest

:06:02. > :06:04.play their final game of 2016 tonight -

:06:05. > :06:07.and it's a tough one - Forest haven't won in four matches

:06:08. > :06:12.but surprised everyone by beating Newcastle at home less

:06:13. > :06:16.than a month ago. Weather time now -

:06:17. > :06:18.and all this fog has seen East Midlands Airport accepting

:06:19. > :06:20.flights diverted from But there's still a fog warning

:06:21. > :06:35.for us, isn't there Kay? Yes, I warning has been issued valid

:06:36. > :06:41.until ten o'clock tomorrow morning so if you are travelling later

:06:42. > :06:47.tonight, do take it easy. Some dense fog patches, less than 100 metres

:06:48. > :06:54.visibility. It is further south and east, further north and west you

:06:55. > :06:59.will see the fog rising. It is quite bad through this evening and

:07:00. > :07:05.overnight. It is dry, we import more cloud but it will be broken and with

:07:06. > :07:09.breaks, you are looking at a patchy frost forming and you run the risk

:07:10. > :07:20.of freezing fog patches as well. Not ideal through the evening. Again,

:07:21. > :07:24.tomorrow morning, a bit misty but murky, the fog should start to lift

:07:25. > :07:29.into low cloud and we will get it brightening up from the north as we

:07:30. > :07:35.Temperatures tomorrow, I'm excited, Temperatures tomorrow, I'm excited,

:07:36. > :07:40.the fireworks are amazing, highs of 10 degrees and feeling milder. But

:07:41. > :07:45.then the cold front will sink down from the north as we had overnight

:07:46. > :07:50.so past midnight we should see fireworks but the southern parts of

:07:51. > :07:56.first thing it will be cloudy and damp and New Year's Day will be

:07:57. > :07:59.chilly. Loving the silent fireworks. More from us at ten to 11. Good

:08:00. > :08:13.night. Good evening, fog has been a problem

:08:14. > :08:14.in recent days, slow changes over
