:02:15. > :02:19.converts, trying to learn about their religion online.

:02:20. > :02:23.I think anybody who wants to do any criminal activity and commit

:02:24. > :02:28.violence and join any terrorist groups, it is shocking.

:02:29. > :02:31.And we want to condemn it and I would not regard him as part

:06:21. > :06:27.In a year the cost has risen one point two billion over budget.

:06:28. > :06:30.That they say raises doubts about future schemes.

:06:31. > :06:36.Here's our Political editor Tony Roe.

:06:37. > :06:38.It's the only north-south line in the country not

:06:39. > :06:42.Long-awaited and delayed, the line is used by 13

:06:43. > :06:46.It's been called the East Midlands' number one investment priority

:06:47. > :06:51.and has united politicians from both sides of the tracks.

:06:52. > :06:54.We've got HS2 coming, a huge investment, ?55 billion.

:06:55. > :06:58.We won't be able to reap the full benefits of that

:06:59. > :07:00.if we don't have an electrified Midland mainline.

:07:01. > :07:03.There's no way I'm going to let them get away

:07:04. > :07:08.But the Commons Public Accounts Committee has raised concerns

:07:09. > :07:11.about Network Rail the Department for Transport's ability to manage

:07:12. > :07:14.projects in the future after what they call

:07:15. > :07:21.Earlier this week, the Department for Transport announced which three

:07:25. > :07:28.That's the year the line will be electrified from London to Corby.

:07:29. > :07:32.Well, those plans are still in development,

:07:33. > :07:39.But does that mean the work will be finished by 2023?

:07:40. > :07:42.The rail minister said today that today, investment decisions

:07:43. > :07:44.are continually assessed to ensure they deliver maximum

:07:45. > :07:54.On the one hand, they have promised that we would have the Midland

:07:55. > :07:58.The other thing is, we have got it just to coming,

:07:59. > :08:07.We won't be able to reap the full benefits of that

:08:08. > :08:09.if we don't have an electrified Midland mainline.

:08:10. > :08:12.It is important we get this right, that we deliver it on time

:08:13. > :08:17.While I would be disappointed by a pause, I'd much rather

:08:18. > :08:20.The Public Accounts Committee is today calling for independent

:08:21. > :08:23.assurances to be sought to make sure future electrification plans stick

:08:24. > :08:33.to budgets and are actually worthwhile for passengers.

:08:34. > :08:37.Plenty more to come including - a tale with a purrfect ending.

:08:38. > :08:40.Meet Bubbles and her brood, the cat family that didn't

:08:41. > :08:44.have the best start in life with kittens born under a bath.

:08:45. > :08:55.Next tonight: It started with a simple idea in Nottingham

:08:56. > :08:59.to encourage hospital patients to get out of their dressing gown or

:09:00. > :09:05.Now it's turning into an international movement to change

:09:06. > :09:09.the culture of what people wear when they stay in hospital.

:09:10. > :09:14.On social media the twitter hashtag "end PJ paralysis" is thought

:09:15. > :09:17.to have been seen by more than nine million people.

:09:18. > :09:21.Our Health Correspondent Rob Sissons reports.

:09:22. > :09:23.Forget your own pyjamas when you come to hospital

:09:24. > :09:29.But the concern is that too many patients are spending too

:09:30. > :09:37.They've got a catchphrase for it in the NHS: PJ paralysis.

:09:38. > :09:40.Yes, at Nottingham hospital they want more patients to get

:09:41. > :09:44.They say they will feel better and also maybe even

:09:45. > :09:53.In your own clothes, you might be happy to go

:09:54. > :09:56.If they were at home, they wouldn't probably have visitors

:09:57. > :10:08.On ward B49 at the Queens medical Centre, encourage patients to get

:10:09. > :10:10.out of their bedclothes during the day.

:10:11. > :10:13.You feel totally different when you are getting dressed

:10:14. > :10:28.I've bought some of my own clothes on, but I have a problem because of

:10:29. > :10:32.my leg getting close on and off. These nurses want to see less of

:10:33. > :10:36.what they call pyjama paralysis, but stressed that patients should always

:10:37. > :10:37.have the choice. Many patients tell us they feel more comfortable in

:10:38. > :10:42.their own clothes.. But on Ward C4, Jacklin has been

:10:43. > :10:46.in hospital for clothes. But on Ward C4, Jacklin has been

:10:47. > :10:50.in hospital for three weeks, and has If you search on Google,

:10:51. > :11:02.and put hospital patient and, every image that comes up will be

:11:03. > :11:04.patients in hospital They're so convinced,

:11:05. > :11:07.they have started a new wardrobe. Some spare, donated clothes for any

:11:08. > :11:16.patients that need them. More than 182,000 cigarettes and 43

:11:17. > :11:20.kilos of tobacco have been seized by customs officers after raids

:11:21. > :11:24.across Derbyshire and Staffordshire. 18 places were found

:11:25. > :11:30.to have suspected illegal A van and a car were also seized

:11:31. > :11:37.by officers in Derby. A Nottingham MP is warning that

:11:38. > :11:40.children in the city face an "unneccessary epidemic"

:11:41. > :11:43.of tooth decay. Labour's Graham Allen is calling

:11:44. > :11:46.for flouride to be put in the water, and more education in schools

:11:47. > :11:50.to help tackle the issue. He also says children

:11:51. > :11:52.in his constituency, which includes Bulwell

:11:53. > :11:55.and Bilborough, are four times more likely to suffer problems

:11:56. > :11:59.than in that of the Health Secretary Researchers from the University

:12:00. > :12:05.of Leicester are exploring how the UK's changing climate could be

:12:06. > :12:10.affecting the survival of hedgehogs. The project is funded

:12:11. > :12:12.by the People's Trust The team will investigate

:12:13. > :12:17.whether warmer and wetter winters are impacting on their food sources,

:12:18. > :12:23.and their ability to survive. Now there's nothing better

:12:24. > :12:27.than a world first - and today Newark hosted the world's

:12:28. > :12:34.largest auction of mobile cranes. Obviously they're not necessarily

:12:35. > :12:36.what you'd want for the school run or to nip to the shops,

:12:37. > :12:39.but they're attracting attention Elise Chamberlain is

:12:40. > :12:56.there for us tonight. Good evening from Newark Showground

:12:57. > :12:59.where today history has been made. This view, while impressive, really

:13:00. > :13:05.does not give you a sense of the scale of what was on offer here

:13:06. > :13:08.today. Let's take a birds eye view. This drone footage was captured

:13:09. > :13:13.ahead of the auction, and gives you much more of a sense of the size of

:13:14. > :13:18.this collection. Every one of those cranes has now been sold. An

:13:19. > :13:25.incredibly competitive auction, it around for hours. Within two hours,

:13:26. > :13:28.?50 million had been spent. The last of the auctioneers and bidders have

:13:29. > :13:34.gone home, so let's take a look back at the very busy and expensive day.

:13:35. > :13:42.?725,000. One lot of an enormous collection going under the hammer.

:13:43. > :13:48.Despite the rain, it attracted a huge crowd. There's a lot of money

:13:49. > :13:52.flying and a lot of things going on. We don't take a lot of time, a

:13:53. > :14:00.couple of minutes per crane. It will turn up -- speed up soon. It's a

:14:01. > :14:06.disposal auction following a Manchester -based company, going

:14:07. > :14:11.into administration. There are 130 cranes and all the ancillary items.

:14:12. > :14:17.The value is around 130 million. The first cranes we have sold today

:14:18. > :14:21.worse first ?700,000. We've never had this many cranes on offer

:14:22. > :14:24.anywhere in the world. You are seeing history in the making here

:14:25. > :14:30.today, so it's a great privilege to be part of it. A lot of people were

:14:31. > :14:34.online because they did not want to get wet, but there is people from

:14:35. > :14:41.all over the world. It's very stressful. You're looking at the

:14:42. > :14:48.screen and thinking, shall I. That's that now. We have a dealer from

:14:49. > :14:54.Holland. There is a very large choice. The biggest mobile crane

:14:55. > :15:11.auction in Europe. It's amazing. It's like candy. A kid in the toy

:15:12. > :15:15.shop. Sold, ?200 M! Auctioneers say these mechanical giants will now be

:15:16. > :15:24.shipped, and will soon be looming over cities across the world. The

:15:25. > :15:31.auctioneers expected to raise around ?30 million here today, in fact, it

:15:32. > :15:35.reached new heights, the total estimated at around 32 million. The

:15:36. > :15:39.Showground really has seen an incredibly unique day here. Whether

:15:40. > :15:47.it will see another like it, we will have to wait and see. We were all

:15:48. > :16:03.deciding what colours we would have, like men in a toy shop.

:16:04. > :16:06.A burst water main is currently causing supply problems

:16:07. > :16:07.in the Loughborough area of Leicestershire.

:16:08. > :16:10.Some homes are without water after the main burst in the village

:16:11. > :16:14.Severn Trent officials are currently at the site carrying out repairs.

:16:15. > :16:18.We start the sport with the big question for Leicester City fans -

:16:19. > :16:25.For now it's Craig Shakespeare in the management hot seat

:16:26. > :16:28.but as speculation swirls and bets are made we wonder just how

:16:29. > :16:37.He is well used to being the manager's number two,

:16:38. > :16:42.Shakespeare is enjoying his time in the spotlight.

:16:43. > :16:45.Standing in the touchline area on your own, having

:16:46. > :16:47.to make the decisions, you have two things right,

:16:48. > :16:52.It's the game that really makes you alive, and its decision-making

:16:53. > :17:00.Support for him is strong among the players, and amongst

:17:01. > :17:04.Who would you like to be the next Leicester City manager?

:17:05. > :17:06.I would like Craig Shakespeare to have a go, I think

:17:07. > :17:09.I'd rather have the continuity, so Craig Shakespeare

:17:10. > :17:14.I think anyone else would take a little while to settle in,

:17:15. > :17:18.I think Craig Shakespeare, with the result against Liverpool,

:17:19. > :17:20.and obviously if we get a good result against Hull

:17:21. > :17:24.Definitely give him a few games, at least.

:17:25. > :17:26.Definitely sees how he gets on against Hull.

:17:27. > :17:29.These will be the people who ultimately decide,

:17:30. > :17:32.and several high profile names have been linked with the job.

:17:33. > :17:34.For now, though, it's time to focus on the football.

:17:35. > :17:37.I want to get back-to-back wins, the players want back-to-back wins,

:17:38. > :17:42.The focus has to be on the three points.

:17:43. > :17:46.So, no decision expected until at least next week

:17:47. > :17:49.on who will take over this management hot seat.

:17:50. > :17:51.But another win here against Hull tomorrow will surely keep

:17:52. > :17:58.Angela Rafferty, BBC East Midlands Today.

:17:59. > :18:00.Staffing developments at Nottingham Forest too -

:18:01. > :18:03.they've got a new Director of Football.

:18:04. > :18:05.It's Frank McParland - seen here in his days as Director

:18:06. > :18:10.Intriguingly, he's a long term friend of recently resigned Rangers'

:18:11. > :18:12.manager Mark Warburton and worked with Warburton as Rangers'

:18:13. > :18:22.We know that Forest were interested in war button for the manager 's

:18:23. > :18:23.job. Let's talk about the football itself

:18:24. > :18:26.then - two clubs in the Championship finding recent going tough -

:18:27. > :18:29.while two clubs in League Two enjoy Surely, Steve McClaren's play-off

:18:30. > :18:36.dreams with Derby are all but over. However much he and the fans urge

:18:37. > :18:39.the side on, they are now Not too sure anyone

:18:40. > :18:47.knows, really, but... We know teams are going to sit

:18:48. > :18:50.behind the ball and put 11 members behind the ball,

:18:51. > :18:54.and I think as players, we need to take a bit more

:18:55. > :18:57.responsibility and maybe try It's four without a win for forest,

:18:58. > :19:16.and city ground high-flyers Brighton can leave them very close

:19:17. > :19:18.to the relegation zone. I think the performances,

:19:19. > :19:22.by and large, have been really good. We've been really pleased with games

:19:23. > :19:24.we have performed well, and maybe not got the points

:19:25. > :19:28.we would have liked, but we will That will get us the results

:19:29. > :19:32.in the long run, if we And doing what we believe

:19:33. > :19:35.are the right things. In League 2, both Mansfield

:19:36. > :19:38.and Notts County are in the form to fancy away wins tomorrow,

:19:39. > :19:40.and the best coverage of all the games is on your BBC

:19:41. > :19:46.local radio station. Their action tonight at home

:19:47. > :19:50.against Exeter and a win would send them back into the all important

:19:51. > :19:54.Premiership Top four. In what's been a topsy-turvy season,

:19:55. > :19:57.Tigers have suddenly put together three big wins in a row and look

:19:58. > :20:01.like challengers again. BBC Radio Leicester

:20:02. > :20:22.summariser Steve Johnson I think we can assume that now.

:20:23. > :20:26.We've had three good wins under our belt after the past few weeks and we

:20:27. > :20:32.are starting to set the pace light again. We are well on the road to

:20:33. > :20:41.recovery. What's happened, what have the changes been about? It's

:20:42. > :20:45.difficult to answer. Richard has been a great ambassador and leader

:20:46. > :20:52.for the club, and has won lots of trophies, but when error in major

:20:53. > :20:56.came in we didn't seem to gel. The players didn't have a game plan and

:20:57. > :21:00.it was very much off the cuff and messy. But now, we seem to have

:21:01. > :21:04.combined what Richard was bringing to the game and Aaron Meijer and we

:21:05. > :21:15.are playing total rugby, so I'm delighted. How much fun has it been

:21:16. > :21:19.to watch? It's been amazing, the transformation. The crowds were

:21:20. > :21:24.dropping off, building the team only six weeks ago. Something that has

:21:25. > :21:29.never happened before. But they seem to have brought some experienced

:21:30. > :21:35.players back from injury. We still had two marquee players missing,

:21:36. > :21:40.both our midfield players. We've done remarkably well to be where we

:21:41. > :21:43.are at the moment, but might is massive because the game against

:21:44. > :21:52.Exeter will put us back into the top four. If they get into the top four,

:21:53. > :21:57.can they win the whole thing? The way things are going, I wouldn't put

:21:58. > :22:01.anything past them. People have said the game against Bristol was good

:22:02. > :22:05.and we totally dominated, but I think the way Leicester were on fire

:22:06. > :22:09.in that game in particular, we could have beaten anybody. That's the

:22:10. > :22:14.confidence that has come back to the players now. They are playing as a

:22:15. > :22:17.team and with passion. Everything is going good. It's another step

:22:18. > :22:22.tonight that puts us back in the running, we've got to play against

:22:23. > :22:23.Bath and we've got to play against Northampton. Everything is on for

:22:24. > :22:26.Leicester to do it. And finally a mention

:22:27. > :22:28.for Nottingham Panthers. Face-off for them against Braehead

:22:29. > :22:31.is tonight in about forty minutes. Still time to get

:22:32. > :22:33.there if you're close. A pet owner's praised a City Council

:22:34. > :22:45.worker for rescuing her cat after it Marie Opie from Nottingham

:22:46. > :22:48.could hear the cat crying, and discovered it was under

:22:49. > :22:51.the floor of her bathroom! A frantic call to Nottingham

:22:52. > :22:54.City Homes brought out an emergency worker -

:22:55. > :22:58.Dean Randall, who saved them all! Now Marie plans to call one of

:22:59. > :23:01.the kittens "Randall" in gratitude. Bubbles the cat and her

:23:02. > :23:10.four newborn kittens are safe with their owner,

:23:11. > :23:11.Marie, now. But the bath panel now outside

:23:12. > :23:14.the bathroom is a clue Two days ago, Marie came

:23:15. > :23:18.in from work to hear the cat crying. I walked in the bathroom,

:23:19. > :23:23.the bath panel was on the floor. I could hear the cries from under

:23:24. > :23:26.the floorboards in the bathroom. Then Marie found Bubbles trapped,

:23:27. > :23:32.and trying to dig through I panicked, I didn't

:23:33. > :23:37.know what to do. A frantic call to Nottingham

:23:38. > :23:43.City Homes bought out emergency worker Dean,

:23:44. > :23:47.only on his third stand-by shift. Marie recorded Dean,

:23:48. > :23:49.who spotted the hole, I had to literally push it back

:23:50. > :23:56.in, so it didn't fall. The rest of the kittens

:23:57. > :24:02.were safe after that. It was literally making the tenant

:24:03. > :24:06.happy and making them understand We didn't need to do any

:24:07. > :24:11.work on the floorboards, it was basically just

:24:12. > :24:13.leaving her there to nest Have you ever done

:24:14. > :24:17.anything like that before? The cats are well,

:24:18. > :24:27.the babies are well. I phoned the council to say thank

:24:28. > :24:30.you, because without them I don't The council have come

:24:31. > :24:35.back to see the kittens. I'd like to see a little kitten

:24:36. > :24:44.named after me, that would be good. Bubbles and kittens are now relaxed,

:24:45. > :24:47.but Marie is keeping the bathroom door firmly shut in case she heads

:24:48. > :24:49.under the bathroom Well, we've seen the biggest crane

:24:50. > :25:04.auction in the world and now the biggest clothes sale of its kind

:25:05. > :25:06.in the country. With more than four

:25:07. > :25:08.thousand garments, shoes and accessories the Rutland Good

:25:09. > :25:10.and New Clothes Sale has been raising money

:25:11. > :25:12.for more than fifty years. Thanks to the volunteers

:25:13. > :25:14.and supporters they've been able to make a real difference

:25:15. > :25:17.to the lives of many We'll have more on the work they do

:25:18. > :25:31.on Monday nights programme. Apparently everything is half price

:25:32. > :25:33.if you get there before lunchtime tomorrow.

:25:34. > :25:44.You certainly wanted your first coat today. Quite a soggy end to the week

:25:45. > :25:48.and you can see that here. This band of rain coming up from the South has

:25:49. > :25:52.been quite heavy at points. We can see the next weather front starting

:25:53. > :25:57.to produce some rain here in the West. As we go through into the

:25:58. > :26:03.weekend, what can we expect? Quite unsettled. Some outbreaks of rain

:26:04. > :26:09.but not a wash out at all. We will see some brighter spells as well.

:26:10. > :26:14.Here's what's going on in the bigger picture. Low pressure in charge.

:26:15. > :26:17.That will clear out into Saturday but it won't be long before we see

:26:18. > :26:24.the next weather fronts bringing some outbreaks of rain. A few heavy

:26:25. > :26:29.showers to look out for through this evening, as we move through the

:26:30. > :26:34.night that rain becoming a bit more patchy. Still some heavy bursts as

:26:35. > :26:38.well and lots of cloud around. Temperatures falling to an overnight

:26:39. > :26:43.low of between six and 7 degrees. Tomorrow morning, it will be a

:26:44. > :26:46.fairly cloudy start. We see that rain cleared out to the east but

:26:47. > :26:52.there will be some bright intervals around. Some sand. Temperatures

:26:53. > :26:55.reaching a maximum of 10 degrees. Some isolated showers to look out

:26:56. > :27:02.for as well. A south-westerly breeze. Into Sunday, a bright start

:27:03. > :27:08.first thing but then that band of rain coming across will be quite

:27:09. > :27:13.heavy. A few brighter intervals but one or two heavy showers to look out

:27:14. > :27:18.for. Temperatures slightly cooler on Sunday. A maximum of 8 degrees. I'll

:27:19. > :27:27.leave you with the outlook. We are quite unsettled into the next week.

:27:28. > :27:33.Still some out lakes of rain. I think you need chocolate and a

:27:34. > :27:34.movie, don't go out. Stick with us all weekend. Will have the results

:27:35. > :27:37.of the Leicester game as well. Cake-a-bake? Yeah.

:27:38. > :28:12.What is that? It's like bake a cake,

:28:13. > :28:14.but we flipped it. Oh, my God, we love flipping.

:28:15. > :28:16.Cake-a-bake. Cake-a-baking. I love it.

:28:17. > :28:20.I so love it when this happens. 15 celebrity acts

:28:21. > :28:23.are coming together to Sing And Dance

:28:24. > :28:27.For Comic Relief.
