:01:05. > :01:07.were hanging at the Christmas market started to be pulled down and then
:01:08. > :01:10.we saw the top of an articulated lorry going from our
:01:11. > :01:18.We just didn't know what was going on.
:01:19. > :01:21.It completely decimated the hut where we'd bought the wine from,
:01:22. > :01:28.It's the most terrifying thing that's ever happened to me.
:01:29. > :01:36.There were people on the floor bleeding, crying, wooden panels
:01:37. > :01:41.The market is all around that church...
:01:42. > :01:44.Alison was in Berlin celebrating her birthday and flew
:01:45. > :01:49.She and her husband were shopping there before the truck attack.
:01:50. > :01:52.We were at the market about 3:30pm yesterday afternoon,
:01:53. > :01:57.We got into bed and neither of us could sleep because suddenly
:01:58. > :02:00.you're thinking, crikey, if we'd have made it
:02:01. > :02:03.a couple of hours later, we could have been involved in that.
:02:04. > :02:08.It's devastating to think it happened, that
:02:09. > :02:13.We'll be back again for the Christmas market next year.
:02:14. > :02:19.But 12 people lost their lives and dozens have been injured,
:02:20. > :02:23.and now the questions - why did it happen and how to stop
:02:24. > :02:26.attacks that are so ruthless in their simplicity?
:02:27. > :02:33.Just to kind of get away from it, we had a wander round some
:02:34. > :02:35.of the museums here and I'll stop and stare at a painting
:02:36. > :02:38.and all of a sudden I'll hear something or I will see something
:02:39. > :02:40.and I can just feel myself welling up.
:02:41. > :02:45.I just don't know how this is going to affect me long-term.
:02:46. > :02:47.Emma Rushton there, speaking to us from Berlin,
:02:48. > :02:52.East Midlands Airport has escaped a fine running
:02:53. > :02:55.into many millions of pounds in spite of an illegal deal
:02:56. > :03:01.It had an agreement with a car parking operator not to undercut
:03:02. > :03:07.the airport's own parking rates, thereby breaking competition rules.
:03:08. > :03:10.The airport got off free, and has since apologised and said
:03:11. > :03:17.This is the first competition investigation by the Civil
:03:18. > :03:26.It found that between 2007 and 2012, East Midlands Airport had an illegal
:03:27. > :03:29.deal with a company called Prestige Parking.
:03:30. > :03:32.The airport said to this company, look, you can have your operation
:03:33. > :03:37.on our airport site but you mustn't undercut the prices that the airport
:03:38. > :03:44.And that broke competition law because they were fixing the prices.
:03:45. > :03:49.The CAA is being lenient - instead of ?12.5 million,
:03:50. > :03:55.They're not fining them at all because of their cooperation.
:03:56. > :03:57.We've been asking people in the East Midlands what they think
:03:58. > :04:04.I'm completely averse to anything at all where people are ripped off.
:04:05. > :04:07.I reckon every airport's doing it to some extent.
:04:08. > :04:11.I think I would encourage people to use public transport.
:04:12. > :04:17.Well, we've had a statement from the Civil Aviation Authority.
:04:18. > :04:41.Of course, we would have liked the Civil Aviation Authority
:04:42. > :04:43.or the Competitions Authority - or indeed the airport -
:04:44. > :04:51.to take part in the interview, but none of them wanted to do so.
:04:52. > :04:53.An inquest has heard how the husband of a Derbyshire woman,
:04:54. > :04:56.who died in hospital after being found seriously injured,
:04:57. > :05:00.was himself killed later that same day on the M1.
:05:01. > :05:02.Claire Nagle was discovered injured at her mother's home
:05:03. > :05:06.in Borrowash on Friday, then died in hospital.
:05:07. > :05:10.Her husband Vincent Nagle died hours later after being hit
:05:11. > :05:19.Police arrived at this home in Borrowash on Friday morning
:05:20. > :05:23.to find 38-year-old Claire Nagle lying on the kitchen floor seriously
:05:24. > :05:28.She was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital.
:05:29. > :05:30.Half an hour later her husband, 44-year-old Vincent,
:05:31. > :05:35.a heating engineer and plumber, jumped from a bridge on the M1,
:05:36. > :05:38.near the Trowell Services, and hit a lorry before his body fell
:05:39. > :05:42.onto the middle lane of the southbound carriageway.
:05:43. > :05:46.Today, here at the opening of the inquests into their deaths,
:05:47. > :05:49.Detective Constable Barry Hall from the East Midlands Major Crime
:05:50. > :05:52.Unit said the provisional cause of death for Claire Nagle
:05:53. > :05:57.was pressure on the neck, pending further tests.
:05:58. > :06:01.The pathologist also found ligature marks and bruising around her neck
:06:02. > :06:06.and haemorrhages on the eyes, showing signs of asphyxia.
:06:07. > :06:09.Vincent's provisional cause of death was an injury to the neck,
:06:10. > :06:15.The court heard that he died instantly.
:06:16. > :06:17.The couple had been living separately at
:06:18. > :06:21.Earlier on Friday, her son, Nathan, who was living nearby,
:06:22. > :06:27.Eyewitnesses said he'd told them he'd been attacked with a nail gun.
:06:28. > :06:32.The police have said the three incidents are linked and they're not
:06:33. > :06:37.A murder investigation has been launched into Claire's death.
:06:38. > :06:39.The 38-year-old was studying mental health nursing
:06:40. > :06:45.It said her loss will be felt deeply.
:06:46. > :06:48.Meanwhile, a fundraising page set up for Claire's children has
:06:49. > :06:54.The senior coroner, Doctor Robert Hunter,
:06:55. > :06:56.adjourned the inquests, which were opened separately,
:06:57. > :07:02.as the police investigation into Friday's tragic events continues.
