:00:43. > :00:46.It's one of 14 new settlements proposed across the country

:00:47. > :00:51.The Government are putting forward ?6 billion in total,

:00:52. > :00:56.of which we'll have part of that money which will be used to provide

:00:57. > :01:01.2,000 quality homes on this site, which will go towards meeting our

:01:02. > :01:08.need to provide 12,500 homes in South Derbyshire by the year 2028.

:01:09. > :01:11.Another of the villages is set to be created here, near Grantham,

:01:12. > :01:16.which will provide 3,700 homes and, like the others, have its own

:01:17. > :01:23.I know people need houses, but then you also have to match it

:01:24. > :01:26.I think the town can grow and get a bit larger.

:01:27. > :01:30.We can attract new shops to the town centre, so I think, all in all,

:01:31. > :01:35.In total, the new villages could provide more than 48,000 homes.

:01:36. > :01:38.According to this economist, it's a step towards easing

:01:39. > :01:43.Over the past decade, we've probably fallen short

:01:44. > :01:46.in England by about 50,000 houses a year.

:01:47. > :01:50.These garden villages will only go some way to make up that backlog.
