:05:25. > :05:29.Within 30 minutes of being left in her sole care, the court heard,

:05:30. > :05:33.Phoebe suffered a catastrophic, and ultimately fatal,

:05:34. > :05:37.injury with significant bleeding on her brain,

:05:38. > :05:44.With the baby in her arms, Chaunfang Zheng ran to the Chinese

:05:45. > :05:48.takeaway next door where Phoebe's mother and father worked.

:05:49. > :05:51.They rushed the baby to hospital and there were extensive medical

:06:00. > :06:03.The prosecution said it would never be possible to establish exactly

:06:04. > :06:10.When she was left, Phoebe the was in good health, he said.

:06:11. > :06:14.Chaunfang Zheng must have caused significant and abusive head trauma

:06:15. > :06:18.known as 'shaken baby', and described by an expert

:06:19. > :06:22.as being very much at the severe end of the range.

:06:23. > :06:26.It would have been immediately apparent to Chaunfang Zheng

:06:27. > :06:30.what she had done, he said, but the court was told she made

:06:31. > :06:34.a concerted effort to lie about the events which led up to it

:06:35. > :06:39.She tried to blame the mother's efforts to resuscitate the baby

:06:40. > :06:52.Chaunfang Zheng denies manslaughter and the trial is continuing.

:06:53. > :06:55.It is being claimed the Government is failing to follow its own

:06:56. > :06:59.guidelines by creating a new garden village in South Derbyshire.

:07:00. > :07:02.A local councillor says the Infinity Garden Village

:07:03. > :07:05.on the outskirts of Derby won't be a new village at all,

:07:06. > :07:14.At least 2,000 homes are planned to be built on this land,

:07:15. > :07:18.creating what the Government has named Infinity Garden Village.

:07:19. > :07:21.Garden villages are one of the ways it is trying to ease

:07:22. > :07:27.This one, off the A50 between Sinfin and Stenson Fields,

:07:28. > :07:31.will be one of 14 nationally, but one local councillor here says

:07:32. > :07:36.the Government has already failed to meet its criteria

:07:37. > :07:38.for what a garden village is supposed to be by

:07:39. > :07:44.All of the news houses at the northern end will be facing,

:07:45. > :07:46.over more than a mile, the existing houses.

:07:47. > :07:49.You are going to pretend that that somehow is a distinct community?

:07:50. > :07:52.It doesn't meet the criteria on that ground and it doesn't meaet the ones

:07:53. > :07:55.saying that the land should perhaps be in public ownership,

:07:56. > :07:57.not a blade of grass round here is in public ownership,

:07:58. > :07:59.and that it should be brownfield land.

:08:00. > :08:03.Well, again, this has been farmed from time immemorial.

:08:04. > :08:06.So, at first sight, this area doesn't seem to fit the bill

:08:07. > :08:10.for a garden village, but the Government has also said

:08:11. > :08:13.that it doesn't consider there to be a single template for a garden

:08:14. > :08:16.village and doesn't want to impose a set of development

:08:17. > :08:21.That responsibility lies with the local authorities

:08:22. > :08:24.and the proposal to build what is being described

:08:25. > :08:27.as "high-quality homes" here has been defended as essential

:08:28. > :08:33.This commitment here is to provide quality homes because we need

:08:34. > :08:37.to have in this area people who are going to support

:08:38. > :08:40.the industries - they need quality homes to live in.

:08:41. > :08:44.But the plans have received a mixed reaction from local residents.

:08:45. > :08:47.It's just adding on to Derby and Derby's problems.

:08:48. > :08:49.You are going to lose all the countryside.

:08:50. > :09:00.Work on the project is expected to begin at the end of next year.

:09:01. > :09:03.Meanwhile, 130 homes already confirmed for this site will start

:09:04. > :09:22.It is being claimed the Government is failing to follow its own

:09:23. > :09:25.A photography student has captured rare scenes of an almost

:09:26. > :09:28.Dean Saunderson spent three hours taking pictures on Christmas morning

:09:29. > :09:32.The eerie images show the normally busy and bustling city

:09:33. > :09:35.Dean says it was a magical experience.

:09:36. > :09:41.So, it's goodbye from me, but with your weather now, here's Kaye.

:09:42. > :09:52.Lovely spells of sunshine tomorrow. Those clear skies towards the end of

:09:53. > :09:57.today mean that tonight really will get very cold indeed. A widespread

:09:58. > :10:03.frost for tomorrow morning, but a gorgeous day, much like bank holiday

:10:04. > :10:07.Monday, lovely spells of sunshine. We did have a milder air, but the

:10:08. > :10:13.dragon the cold northerly territory tomorrow. The mild air will return

:10:14. > :10:18.as we get near the weekend. Back to the here and now and it is dry, the

:10:19. > :10:22.winds are light and there are plenty of clear skies. The butchers are

:10:23. > :10:26.already down below freezing. For many of us who will get down to -1

:10:27. > :10:32.or two, but in the countryside it could get down to -5. No warnings

:10:33. > :10:37.for ice, but bear in mind that there could be some slippy surface is

:10:38. > :10:40.first thing. A gorgeous day, dry and fine, lengthy spells of sunshine

:10:41. > :10:46.with light winds. The temperatures will only get up to three degrees,

:10:47. > :10:50.so make sure you wrap up warm. For Friday, the milder air starts to

:10:51. > :10:54.come back in but the wind will strengthen and there is some rain in

:10:55. > :10:58.the forecast. That pushes down to the south and that leaves us with a

:10:59. > :11:00.milder, settled weekend, mostly dry with a few bright spells at times.

:11:01. > :11:04.Here is the Temperatures creeping up a notch or

:11:05. > :11:06.two and turning milder into the weekend.
