:00:21. > :00:26.But some landowners say they're having to take the law

:00:27. > :00:29.into their own hands, and claim criminal gangs

:00:30. > :00:31.are increasingly aggressive and intimidating when challenged.

:00:32. > :00:37.Paul Murphy's report contains images some may find upsetting.

:00:38. > :00:39.Chasing and killing hares with dogs has been banned

:00:40. > :00:47.But you wouldn't know it from looking at social media.

:00:48. > :00:52.It's awash with footage of those who continue to break the law.

:00:53. > :00:57.What's changing, though, is the level of violence

:00:58. > :01:00.hare coursers meat out to those who try to stop them.

:01:01. > :01:03.They came at me because my vehicle was blocking their exit

:01:04. > :01:09.and immediately started to throw rocks at me with me in the vehicle.

:01:10. > :01:14.And hammered the side of my vehicle so they could get passed and escape.

:01:15. > :01:16.These coursers escaped leaving their vehicle behind.

:01:17. > :01:19.They came back later to set it alight, possibly to destroy any

:01:20. > :01:27.These actions are creating fear in this community.

:01:28. > :01:31.This woman would only talk if we didn't show her face.

:01:32. > :01:35.They have become aggressive, nasty, uncontrollable...

:01:36. > :01:41.There are people who are afraid to leave their own home.

:01:42. > :01:45.We know as a police service we've got to up our game and make best

:01:46. > :01:49.But the farming community needs to work with us,

:01:50. > :01:53.it needs to keep itself safe, and it needs to assist proactively

:01:54. > :02:01.This farmer says he's done with relying on the police.

:02:02. > :02:04.He's making police style stingers to puncture the tyres

:02:05. > :02:10.Other landowners are using drones to monitor their fields.

:02:11. > :02:13.This farmer could only watch as two cars drive

:02:14. > :02:20.Fields across this area show signs of car damage.

:02:21. > :02:22.They'd kill us if they could, I think.

:02:23. > :02:31.What we'd like to do is help the police catch the culprits

:02:32. > :02:38.but the police seem very reluctant to talk to us and to work with us.

:02:39. > :02:40.It was in this same community that Lincolnshire Police

:02:41. > :02:45.launched its anti hare coursing strategy last September.

:02:46. > :02:47.But the hare coursers, like the ones seen here speeding

:02:48. > :02:57.through a farm shop car park, are continuing to blight local life.

:02:58. > :03:00.Health bosses in Nottinghamshire say a number of key services could be

:03:01. > :03:02.moved from hospitals into the community to reduce costs

:03:03. > :03:07.Stroke rehabilitation will definitely be moved,

:03:08. > :03:11.while brain injury and pain management are under consideration,

:03:12. > :03:17.24-year-old Heather Peacock lost control of her car 18 months ago

:03:18. > :03:23.She suffered a severe brain injury and was in a coma for eight weeks.

:03:24. > :03:25.She's been receiving outpatient therapy at the city

:03:26. > :03:28.hospital for a year and has made considerable progress.

:03:29. > :03:31.She's convinced services will suffer if they are transferred

:03:32. > :03:37.I don't think the facilities will be as good if they are transferred

:03:38. > :03:40.to the homing environment because the facilities are so much

:03:41. > :03:46.They've got a gym, treadmills, stuff like that.

:03:47. > :03:52.They are willing to help you and support you through your recovery.

:03:53. > :03:55.The Nottingham North and East Clinical Commissioning Group has

:03:56. > :03:58.identified seven services currently delivered by Nottingham University

:03:59. > :04:02.hospitals which it wants to transferred to reduce costs.

:04:03. > :04:05.These services include ongoing therapy for those

:04:06. > :04:11.with brain injuries, neurology assessments,

:04:12. > :04:17.pain management, and home visiting for those with

:04:18. > :04:20.Research has moved on and there are better ways to do things.

:04:21. > :04:22.An example would be stroke care where patients,

:04:23. > :04:25.if they are cared for at home, have better outcomes.

:04:26. > :04:27.The engagement we've done that patients are told us

:04:28. > :04:29.that they would prefer services to be delivered at home.

:04:30. > :04:32.Consultation has been extended into early next month but an online

:04:33. > :04:35.petition started by Heather's family one week ago opposing the plans

:04:36. > :04:36.has already attracted almost 700 signatures.

:04:37. > :04:40.After 16 weeks of physio after you've been discharged,

:04:41. > :04:43.they'll let you go, and that's not really fair because at 16 weeks

:04:44. > :04:50.The most important thing for us is that patients receive the best

:04:51. > :04:55.And where that needs more than 16 weeks then, of course,

:04:56. > :04:59.A leaked memo indicates the CCG is ultimately

:05:00. > :05:03.considering transferring a total of 13 services.

:05:04. > :05:07.Heather intends to return to university in September to write

:05:08. > :05:17.Leicester's Haymarket Theatre could re-open by the end of the year.

:05:18. > :05:20.It'll return with a mix of music and drama, but the big box office

:05:21. > :05:23.draw will be e-sports, where audiences watch professionals

:05:24. > :05:27.The consortium behind the venue's re-development says that

:05:28. > :05:31.multi-player video game tournaments now make more money

:05:32. > :05:45.Presently, there's millions of people watching online and as it has

:05:46. > :05:50.developed, like we said about football, normal people want to, and

:05:51. > :05:54.see the event, not just watch it online. The consortium are offering

:05:55. > :05:58.something that will add to and very much complement the very exciting

:05:59. > :06:01.artistic and cultural scene we've got in Leicester.

:06:02. > :06:02.Finally, to a 12-year-old facing retirement!

:06:03. > :06:04.After nine years working as a Mountain Rescue dog

:06:05. > :06:06.in Derbyshire, Megan is becoming a family pet.

:06:07. > :06:08.She received a commendation for discovering the body

:06:09. > :06:11.of Jar Ashton six years ago, and saved the lives

:06:12. > :06:14.Very soon after she qualified, we were involved in a search,

:06:15. > :06:17.in horrendous winter conditions, white out conditions.

:06:18. > :06:20.Megan worked relentlessly through that winter storm

:06:21. > :06:22.and found three walkers, cold but alive.

:06:23. > :06:27.We managed to evacuate them off the hill very quickly.

:06:28. > :06:29.I'm here with your updates across the weekend, but let's

:06:30. > :06:41.Not too bad as we go through this weekend. Some usable weather on the

:06:42. > :06:45.way with this little area of high pressure starting to build up, still

:06:46. > :06:49.some fronts and there so we might see some showers at times. As we

:06:50. > :06:53.have a look at the weather for this evening, we've still got the showers

:06:54. > :07:00.around in places but they are moving away slowly. We also have some who

:07:01. > :07:05.fog in places, some mist overnight with loads of three overnight.

:07:06. > :07:10.Through the day tomorrow, quite a grey day, quite overcast with mist

:07:11. > :07:14.patches with the old spit and spot of rain here and there but not a bad

:07:15. > :07:20.day overall with some brightness further north with highs of nine.

:07:21. > :07:23.Then, as we look ahead to Sunday, more of the same. Some spit sunspots

:07:24. > :07:28.here and there but predominantly a dry Dave with highs of seven. I'll

:07:29. > :07:37.leave you with the outlook. That is it from the late team. Have a very

:07:38. > :07:43.Good evening. The weather has been turning milder and also cloudier

:07:44. > :07:46.through the course of the day. We did see some clear spells moving in

:07:47. > :07:52.from the North will stop this was the sunset, captured in Dundee. Some

:07:53. > :07:55.clear spells as we headed through the course of the afternoon into the

:07:56. > :07:59.evening. Really, through the weekend, wiki with a similar theme.

:08:00. > :08:04.Much milder than it has been. A lot of cloud around in general, but for

:08:05. > :08:06.most of us think. Dry. Not dry everywhere at the moment,

:08:07. > :08:10.particularly across central and southern parts of England and Wales.

:08:11. > :08:14.We have a lot of cloud, bringing outbreaks of light rain and drizzle.

:08:15. > :08:17.The patchy rain will ease away slowly towards the south through

:08:18. > :08:22.tonight and further north across the country, drier conditions. Wherever

:08:23. > :08:29.you are, it's pretty cloudy. Mostly frost free to start the weekend, but

:08:30. > :08:30.there could be frost across the central glens of Scotland. A chilly
