:00:13. > :00:18.The family of a 14-year-old rape victim have been describing how

:00:19. > :00:22.the teenager's life has been shattered by the attack.

:00:23. > :00:24.Today, Kyle Parish who's now 19, was jailed for eight years.

:00:25. > :00:30.The judge said he had an unhealthy fascination

:00:31. > :00:35.The court heard that the rape took place in the early hours of

:00:36. > :00:43.The girl, who was 14 years old at the time, was with a

:00:44. > :00:45.group of friends who were camping out and drinking in a

:00:46. > :00:50.Amongst that group was 17-year-old Kyle Parish.

:00:51. > :00:53.The court heard that, during a moment when the

:00:54. > :00:56.pair were together, Kyle Parish grabbed the girl against her will

:00:57. > :01:01.Despite repeated screams and resistance from

:01:02. > :01:09.Parish did plead guilty in September, and today, at Nottingham

:01:10. > :01:14.Crown Court, Judge Rafferty sentenced him to five years in jail

:01:15. > :01:17.and three years thereafter under supervision as part of an

:01:18. > :01:22.The young girl who is now 15 years old was in court

:01:23. > :01:25.this afternoon to hear the sentencing.

:01:26. > :01:28.I spoke to her mother afterwards, who described how

:01:29. > :01:31.devastating this has been for the family and that her daughter

:01:32. > :01:38.In this interview, the mother's identity has been disguised.

:01:39. > :01:43.It has totally destroyed it, totally.

:01:44. > :01:48.You can be having a good day, and then the

:01:49. > :01:50.littlest thing will take you back to that day.

:01:51. > :01:53.When you hear those words come out of your child's mouth, you

:01:54. > :01:58.What was your daughter like before this happened?

:01:59. > :02:03.How have things changed in terms of her personality?

:02:04. > :02:06.She just has a really low days, panic attacks.

:02:07. > :02:11.Just not to the confident child she was before this attack happened.

:02:12. > :02:15.You just know, for the rest of her life, when other

:02:16. > :02:18.girls are talking about boys and things like that, how is she going

:02:19. > :02:21.What did you make of the sentencing today?

:02:22. > :02:24.They are not going to get away with it.

:02:25. > :02:26.They prey on quiet girls who they think will

:02:27. > :02:32.Just like you can get justice, and it is a long journey.

:02:33. > :02:37.In sentencing, Judge Rafferty QC said to Parish, "The devastation is

:02:38. > :02:41.not just for five minutes, five hours, five days,

:02:42. > :02:47.And he said, "You have taken away from her the one thing

:02:48. > :02:56.that matters to us all - the right to say yes or no."

:02:57. > :03:01.Next, there's mounting anger over a decision to move stroke

:03:02. > :03:04.rehabilitation services out of Nottingham City Hospital

:03:05. > :03:10.MPs and campaigners believe it's risky for patients.

:03:11. > :03:14.Rob Sissons, our health correspondent, has more.

:03:15. > :03:19.A lot of stroke rehabilitation in Nottinghamshire is done in hospital

:03:20. > :03:23.The plan now is to get more people where possible

:03:24. > :03:30.But campaigners suspect it is about cost-cutting.

:03:31. > :03:32.Ossie Newell from Nottingham is one of them.

:03:33. > :03:35.Here he is doing exercises in the kitchen

:03:36. > :03:41.He says care at home won't be as good as the current

:03:42. > :03:47.This is a cost-driven exercise, and it has got nothing to

:03:48. > :03:52.I also feel that there is a possibility that

:03:53. > :03:56.people's lives would be put at risk because of where we are going

:03:57. > :04:03.I think this has been handled very, very badly.

:04:04. > :04:07.Nottingham North MP, Labour's Graham Allen, is demanding answers.

:04:08. > :04:08.He has been collecting comments from NHS

:04:09. > :04:24.The Stroke Association is also concerned, as

:04:25. > :04:30.This will necessitate 30 stroke beds closing in Nottingham, and if you

:04:31. > :04:33.need to stay in hospital a little bit longer than normal, over seven

:04:34. > :04:39.days let's say, then you'll be put on a general ward, you will not get

:04:40. > :04:43.the exclusive and expert attention that everybody now gets on

:04:44. > :04:48.A ?1.5 million deal has been awarded to

:04:49. > :04:51.Nottinghamshire Health Care to provide rehabilitation services

:04:52. > :04:55.It says it will offer high-quality therapy that will

:04:56. > :05:00.The Nottingham Clinical Commissioning Group says

:05:01. > :05:03.the changes are about bringing county services in line with the

:05:04. > :05:07.city and making them consistently excellent.

:05:08. > :05:10.Both organisations told us no-one was available for

:05:11. > :05:15.Police have charged a man in connection with the death

:05:16. > :05:17.of a Nottinghamshire teenager last summer.

:05:18. > :05:20.14-year-old Jack Archer died after his bike collided with a car

:05:21. > :05:27.Steven Mills from Cotgrave has been charged with numerous offences,

:05:28. > :05:30.including death by careless driving, and failing to stop

:05:31. > :05:35.The 28-year-old is due in court next month.

:05:36. > :05:38.The daughter of a couple from Leicester, who were shot

:05:39. > :05:41.in a terrorist attack in Tunisia, has told an inquest they were

:05:42. > :05:44.preparing to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

:05:45. > :05:49.Ray and Angela Fisher were killed by an Islamist gunman in 2015.

:05:50. > :05:54.A peaceful unisian beach near the resort of

:05:55. > :05:58.Sousse, turned into the scene of violent attack in June 2015.

:07:13. > :07:19.MPs from across the East Midlands have been reacting to the supreme

:07:20. > :07:25.This morning, some of Britain's top judges ruled that ministers were not

:07:26. > :07:29.allowed to invoke Article 50 without the approval of parliament.

:07:30. > :07:32.The move to leave the EU will now be debated ahead

:07:33. > :07:35.of a vote in Westminster, a decision that's been

:07:36. > :07:44.I don't know why the Government has been bothering to resist it, because

:07:45. > :07:47.they are going to win the Article 50 vote,

:07:48. > :07:49.so what they're trying to is minimise discussion.

:07:50. > :07:52.There are a lot of businesses and people whose jobs

:07:53. > :07:54.are in Nottingham and around the East Midlands which are

:07:55. > :07:59.That is why, in Parliament, we need to give Theresa May a nudge

:08:06. > :08:09.A quarter of wildlife sites in Derbyshire

:08:10. > :08:13.They're defined as areas which contain a large variety

:08:14. > :08:16.of plants or animals, and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust says,

:08:17. > :08:20.if things don't change, these valuable habitats could be lost.

:08:21. > :08:26.Derbyshire has some beautiful landscapes, but now some of them

:08:27. > :08:31.25% of local wildlife sites in the county are in decline.

:08:32. > :08:34.That is a problem, because it means they are losing the plants

:08:35. > :08:40.There is a significant number of sites where

:08:41. > :08:44.the management isn't as good as it needs to be in order

:08:45. > :08:50.particularly the case in meadows and wetlands.

:08:51. > :08:53.Local wildlife sites sit just below areas of special

:08:54. > :08:56.scientific interest, but they don't enjoy anywhere

:08:57. > :09:00.Landowners here can do whatever they like with the

:09:01. > :09:04.site, cutting down trees or dumping rubbish, and they have no

:09:05. > :09:10.That means everything living in this field is at the mercy of the person

:09:11. > :09:16.This farmer working to maintain the land says it

:09:17. > :09:19.is not as easy as people might expect.

:09:20. > :09:23.Something like 60 different species of plant here, rushes and

:09:24. > :09:26.grasses as well as wild flowers, and obviously this land could be

:09:27. > :09:29.yielding more if it had more fertiliser and more muck applied.

:09:30. > :09:34.It might not be an easy problem to solve, but

:09:35. > :09:37.farmers and local wildlife experts hope they can do enough to protect
