:00:22. > :00:24.The blood-borne infection kills more people in the UK than breast,

:00:25. > :00:30.Following criticism from the Care Quality Commission

:00:31. > :00:32.in 2015 that Leicester wasn't dealing with sepsis patients

:00:33. > :00:34.quickly enough, it's now installed a specialist team.

:01:01. > :01:02.Cases can be complicated, hard to spot.

:01:03. > :01:08.Sometimes the symptoms seem like flu.

:01:09. > :01:10.The causes, though, are simple enough.

:01:11. > :01:12.It can be a simple chest infection, a skin infection, gastroenteritis.

:01:26. > :01:30.In here is everything we need for the treatment

:01:31. > :01:36.So we have our antibiotics, we have our culture packs,

:01:37. > :01:39.we have our fluid and we have our blood bottles that we have if we

:01:40. > :01:45.It about spotting sepsis quickly, it's about getting the treatment

:01:46. > :01:47.of antibiotics, fluids, into patients within an hour

:01:48. > :01:50.and it is about ensuring those patients that are not doing so well,

:01:51. > :02:00.that they get expert care further on into the hospital.

:02:01. > :02:03.The programme has been developed from concern about sepsis management

:02:04. > :02:06.in the NHS as a whole. At the end of the team's first week

:02:07. > :02:10.in A, they seem more Some patients do get worse and do

:02:11. > :02:15.require intensive care support. Somewhere between ten and 20%

:02:16. > :02:18.of patients that come in with life-threatening

:02:19. > :02:20.sepsis don't survive. Everywhere, the NHS is trying to do

:02:21. > :02:24.better when it comes to sepsis. Demolition teams moved in today

:02:25. > :02:31.to take down a building at the centre of a run of fires

:02:32. > :02:35.Leicester. In the latest blaze,

:02:36. > :02:38.it saw damage to neighbouring properties and a fleet

:02:39. > :02:39.of nearby cars. It's been part of Leicester's

:02:40. > :02:48.skyline for over 100 years. This building once

:02:49. > :02:50.housed Corah Knitwear. In its heyday, it was considered

:02:51. > :02:53.to be one of the world's greatest manufacturers of its kind but less

:02:54. > :02:56.than 48 hours ago, in the early hours of Thursday morning,

:02:57. > :03:02.a huge fire all but destroyed it. At its height, the flames

:03:03. > :03:04.were so intense they spread to another building and caused

:03:05. > :03:07.damage to dozens of We still haven't been able

:03:08. > :03:10.to identify whether anybody was in the building at the time

:03:11. > :03:14.of the fire. We do know it was a building

:03:15. > :03:17.that was sometimes used by rough sleepers, so we are still working

:03:18. > :03:20.with the police to identify whether anybody was in the building

:03:21. > :03:22.at the time of the fire. Today, fire safety officers have

:03:23. > :03:24.been visiting neighbouring businesses to give them advice

:03:25. > :03:29.on how to protect their buildings. If I just give you this bit

:03:30. > :03:32.of information from the fire service, just giving some advice

:03:33. > :03:34.for you to follow. It's the seventh time the former

:03:35. > :03:37.factory's been targeted in just two years and it's causing concern

:03:38. > :03:42.for other owners on this site. We should all get together and come

:03:43. > :03:45.to the bottom of this, make sure these sorts of things

:03:46. > :03:48.don't happen, because it's affecting business throughout and putting up

:03:49. > :03:59.insurance premiums as well, The investigation is complete, they

:04:00. > :04:03.are treating it as arson. A 19-year-old man's in a critical

:04:04. > :04:05.condition in hospital Officers were called

:04:06. > :04:09.to Aikman Avenue in the New Parks area of the city last night,

:04:10. > :04:12.following reports of a fight. Five men have been arrested

:04:13. > :04:15.in connection with the incident. Police are appealing for any

:04:16. > :04:20.witnesses to get in touch with them. A jury deciding verdicts on six men

:04:21. > :04:23.accused of running a scam involving deliberate car crashes in Derbyshire

:04:29. > :04:32.evidence against the men, who are accused of making hundreds

:04:33. > :04:35.of thousands of pounds in insurance claims after targeting mainly older

:04:36. > :04:39.and lone women drivers. Dharminder Nagra was the director

:04:40. > :04:42.of the company that managed There's been a big rise

:04:43. > :04:50.in the number of Land Rover Defender Production of the model came

:04:51. > :04:54.to an end early last year. New figures from the insurance

:04:57. > :04:59.Defenders last year - almost twice as many

:05:00. > :05:03.as the year before. One dairy farmer near Melton Mowbray

:05:04. > :05:18.has lost six Defenders Very cross. We rely on it on a daily

:05:19. > :05:22.basis, especially in the summer, part of our livelihood. There is a

:05:23. > :05:25.huge market across the world for Land Rovers and the parts and

:05:26. > :05:31.because they are no longer made prices are going up and really

:05:32. > :05:36.owners of land Rovers -- land Rovers are having to take huge care so they

:05:37. > :05:37.come down in the morning and find it is still on the drive.

:05:47. > :05:53.live music and street markets to enjoy.

:05:54. > :06:00.It is designed to change the feel of the city on a Friday night. You

:06:01. > :06:03.normally get groups of young people going to the bars but this brings

:06:04. > :06:10.grandparents and parents and children in and gets them to carry

:06:11. > :06:13.lanterns and enjoy themselves and changes the nature. Young people can

:06:14. > :06:13.join in too. Great for the whole family.

:06:14. > :06:28.Light snow showers, I nearly called you Dominic! We are going to see

:06:29. > :06:33.snow showers coming in, coming from the North Sea. We did have a light

:06:34. > :06:37.dusting of snow first thing this morning, this picture taken by a

:06:38. > :06:40.weather watcher. Later this afternoon, brightness started to

:06:41. > :06:47.break through. A mixture today, bitterly cold outside and a cold

:06:48. > :06:51.night tonight. The showers are all ready coming in across the East

:06:52. > :06:58.Midlands producing light snow and a mixture of rain, sleet and snow but

:06:59. > :07:01.we could see ice on untreated surfaces and showers continue

:07:02. > :07:06.westwards into the early part of tomorrow morning. A bitterly cold

:07:07. > :07:10.start the day, the showers still present working westwards and

:07:11. > :07:16.gradually they convert back to rain into the afternoon. It is going to

:07:17. > :07:20.be a cold day on Saturday, a damp day and temperatures no higher for

:07:21. > :07:26.Celsius. From Saturday night, early Sunday, further showers coming in on

:07:27. > :07:30.the breeze, they could turn to snow on higher ground for the Peak

:07:31. > :07:32.District. The outlook and Louise Lear has
