:00:14. > :00:17.A gang which staged dozens of road accidents so they could make false

:00:18. > :00:19.insurance claims have been found guilty.

:00:20. > :00:22.The scam involved deliberately crashing cars across Derby

:00:23. > :00:25.and Derbyshire, and saw them making hundreds of thousands

:00:26. > :00:34.Trying to hide their faces, these five men today finally had to face

:00:35. > :00:38.They were part of a so-called crash for cash scam,

:00:39. > :00:41.deliberately causing collisions to make fraudulent claims

:00:42. > :00:45.for injuries received and damage caused to the vehicles.

:00:46. > :00:49.In total, they staged 41 crashes across Derby and Derbyshire,

:00:50. > :00:52.targeting older and lone women drivers.

:00:53. > :00:55.One of the most common schemes was to have two cars driven

:00:56. > :00:57.by the scammers ahead of a target car.

:00:58. > :01:00.The lead car would swerve suddenly, causing the second to

:01:01. > :01:04.brake hard, the target car behind would crash into the back of the

:01:05. > :01:10.That innocent third party would always

:01:11. > :01:14.admit liability as they had driven into the back of the second car.

:01:15. > :01:18.Ten of the 41 crashes took place here.

:01:19. > :01:22.The scammers also used stolen or fake identities as part of their

:01:23. > :01:26.The claims were then managed by one of two companies

:01:27. > :01:31.One of them was Derby Enterprise Solutions.

:01:32. > :01:35.The director's brother was the secretary, the two men

:01:36. > :01:41.and their accomplice were all found guilty of conspiracy to defraud.

:01:42. > :01:44.Another man, seen here in the green coat, was

:01:45. > :01:49.His brother in the black coat was found not guilty.

:01:50. > :01:51.Meanwhile, Adam Stark from Long Eaton was found guilty

:01:52. > :01:55.of fraud as well as perverting the course of justice.

:01:56. > :01:58.And seven other people had already pleaded guilty to their part

:01:59. > :02:02.In a statement today, Derbyshire Police has said it hopes

:02:03. > :02:06.this trial sends out the clear message that this type of crime will

:02:07. > :02:08.be treated seriously, investigated thoroughly and will not

:02:09. > :02:13.The five men found guilty have been released on bail but

:02:14. > :02:21.will be back in court in April for sentencing.

:02:22. > :02:24.Controversial plans to move hospital treatment into the community have

:02:25. > :02:27.been watered down after fierce criticism from patients

:02:28. > :02:31.But health bosses are still pushing ahead with proposals to transfer

:02:32. > :02:34.five different services away from major medical centres.

:02:35. > :02:38.Our health correspondent Rob Sissons has the details.

:02:39. > :02:41.Managing change is never easy in the NHS.

:02:42. > :02:46.One of the buzz phrases is "moving care closer to home".

:02:47. > :02:48.In Nottingham, the original plan was to move all

:02:49. > :02:52.these services, seven of them, out of Nottingham's main

:02:53. > :02:56.hospitals and into the community to places like medical centres.

:02:57. > :02:58.The services range from one for chronic fatigue

:02:59. > :03:09.The brain injury service and the management of renal patients

:03:10. > :03:16.The people behind the change say it'll mean better care.

:03:17. > :03:19.We've really been able to listen to the feedback we've received

:03:20. > :03:21.and that has allowed us to change the

:03:22. > :03:24.specifications, so we are really confident

:03:25. > :03:29.real best services meeting patients' needs.

:03:30. > :03:32.This campaigner is really happy that the brain injury service isn't

:03:33. > :03:36.Heather is 24 and suffered a brain injury after losing

:03:37. > :03:40.At home in West Bridgeford today, she told us she is

:03:41. > :03:43.glad that, when it comes to her service, the clinical commissioning

:03:44. > :03:51.I think it will be good for everyone, for the

:03:52. > :03:54.outpatients, for the future ones, for the staff.

:03:55. > :03:57.It will just all remain in one place, that will be

:03:58. > :03:59.Other patients, though, are not happy.

:04:00. > :04:02.Gilly in Blidworth is furious the pain management service

:04:03. > :04:06.We're told the changes will save ?2 million pounds

:04:07. > :04:11.on today's prices, but the main motivation isn't savings

:04:12. > :04:14.but to deliver better care, the NHS says.

:04:15. > :04:17.The commissioners will go before Nottinghamshire's health scrutiny

:04:18. > :04:20.committee next month to argue their case,

:04:21. > :04:24.but for now the changes are on track to come in July.

:04:25. > :04:29.But expect more arguments before then.

:04:30. > :04:31.Tributes have been paid to a 22-year-old man killed

:04:32. > :04:36.Lauric Lebato, from London, was found with a stab wound

:04:37. > :04:40.in Albion Street early on Saturday morning, but died in hospital.

:04:41. > :04:43.Lauric's father said today he was the centre of his life

:04:44. > :04:47.and has urged anyone with information to contact police.

:04:48. > :04:50.Figures released by the NSPCC show the charity receives hundreds

:04:51. > :04:54.of calls each year from people concerned with drink and drug abuse

:04:55. > :05:00.In the East Midlands there were 620 such calls to them in 2013/14,

:05:01. > :05:09.The service centre team manager for the NSPCC in Nottingham joins

:05:10. > :05:13.Who are the people who are making these

:05:14. > :05:15.reports and what sort of things are they telling you?

:05:16. > :05:17.Well, we get calls mainly from neighbours, because they

:05:18. > :05:21.are the ones that are closest to what is happening on the ground, and

:05:22. > :05:23.they are telling us that they are concerned

:05:24. > :05:25.about children because they are aware that people are

:05:26. > :05:29.having parties and using drugs and alcohol next door,

:05:30. > :05:31.and they are concerned about the welfare of the children.

:05:32. > :05:34.And what do you do when you get a report like that?

:05:35. > :05:36.What we would do is advise the people about

:05:37. > :05:40.what they can do themselves, and reassure them about what we're going

:05:41. > :05:43.to do with the information, but in most cases, in about 90%

:05:44. > :05:47.of cases, we will make a referral, either to the police

:05:48. > :05:50.or to the local authority for children's social care.

:05:51. > :05:51.And in those referrals, what dangers are

:05:52. > :05:58.We would say that a lot of the problems that

:05:59. > :06:02.arise are around neglect of the children, because if the parents

:06:03. > :06:05.are using substances in the home

:06:06. > :06:10.or they're using alcohol frequently and consistently, then the

:06:11. > :06:12.children's needs are likely to be being neglected.

:06:13. > :06:15.That is the main concern, that they are not keeping

:06:16. > :06:17.their children safe if they are abusing substances on a

:06:18. > :06:21.What about the trends with this, you've seen them rising,

:06:22. > :06:29.Generally speaking, this is a big concern,

:06:30. > :06:32.and we are aware that it takes quite a lot of courage for

:06:33. > :06:36.neighbours to pick up the phone and ring us to ask, so we know that

:06:37. > :06:42.Now, those behind the new Enterprise Zone being developed

:06:43. > :06:44.in Leicestershire say it could create tens of

:06:45. > :06:47.thousands of jobs, some of them in the UK's growing

:06:48. > :06:52.The zone, the second in the county, will be based across sites

:06:53. > :07:01.in Loughborough and Leicester, as Quentin Rayner reports.

:07:02. > :07:06.Leicestershire is no stranger to the interstellar, but this plot could

:07:07. > :07:10.end up being dubbed the starship enterprise zone. In the 80 hectare

:07:11. > :07:14.to Loughborough University may look barren now, but new buildings will

:07:15. > :07:18.soon spring up. It is just one of these sites making up the new zone.

:07:19. > :07:23.Another part will be situated on child with cap is focusing on life

:07:24. > :07:28.science. The third site will be in Leicester 's Waterside, adjacent to

:07:29. > :07:31.the proposed National space part, especially Isaac and space

:07:32. > :07:34.technology. The minister responsible for promoting the Midlands engine

:07:35. > :07:35.caught up with companies which intend to expand into the enterprise

:07:36. > :07:36.zone. Enterprise zones are an extremely

:07:37. > :07:39.important part of our strategy. The eight enterprise zones

:07:40. > :07:41.across the Midlands have so far created 9,000 jobs and brought

:07:42. > :07:44.in over ?1 million of Just up the road in Leicestershire,

:07:45. > :07:51.the Mira technology park, there were companies from around

:07:52. > :07:54.the world who come to base themselves on that technology park,

:07:55. > :07:58.and that is exactly what we want to achieve here

:07:59. > :08:00.on this side as well. The new enterprise

:08:01. > :08:03.zone promises much. 6500 jobs in ten years, rising

:08:04. > :08:08.to 21,000 into the local economy Leicester's first enterprise

:08:09. > :08:14.zone opened about five The technology Park has attracted

:08:15. > :08:20.many companies and It is the busiest one

:08:21. > :08:27.so far in the country. This has the potential

:08:28. > :08:29.to do even better because of its location by the M1 and 5,000

:08:30. > :08:34.houses across the road. The new enterprise

:08:35. > :08:37.zone can't come soon enough, the university's innovation

:08:38. > :08:46.Centre is already 90% full. As I leave you tonight,

:08:47. > :08:48.we're hearing the A1 is closed Northbound

:08:49. > :08:50.near the Rutland Water turn off. Not clear on what's happened yet,

:08:51. > :08:53.but if it's on your route in the morning,

:08:54. > :08:55.check before you set off. Now Lucy's here, and would that have

:08:56. > :09:07.been sunshine we felt earlier? It might have been. Bit of a distant

:09:08. > :09:12.memory for some of us. Especially after the weekend read was a whole

:09:13. > :09:15.lot more wintry. This photo was headed by weather watcher in

:09:16. > :09:20.Derbyshire. Acting easterly wind and some snow as well. As we move

:09:21. > :09:25.through this week, they will be a bit of a the weather, milder

:09:26. > :09:29.temperatures, mid week we're going to touch into the double figures.

:09:30. > :09:33.There will be plenty of cloud but also brighter spells in the mix as

:09:34. > :09:38.well. One to shout shatters the week. In the bigger picture, high

:09:39. > :09:42.pressure out to the north-east, low pressure on the south-west, the

:09:43. > :09:45.cloud will rotate has moved to the next couple of days, so the easterly

:09:46. > :09:50.wind will attend a quest in the, and one draw and some less cold air and

:09:51. > :09:55.that is where we'll see milder temperatures. Overnight, some patchy

:09:56. > :09:59.cloud around, clear spells, largely dry, temperatures fighter and

:10:00. > :10:05.overnight low of two or three Celsius, city is likely... Crueller

:10:06. > :10:08.in the countryside. Tomorrow there will be bright this first thing,

:10:09. > :10:12.particularly farther east, getting the best, but it will turn

:10:13. > :10:18.increasingly cloudy. Temperatures creep up to a maximum of nine

:10:19. > :10:22.Celsius, and that's south-easterly breeze. There's a chance of 12

:10:23. > :10:27.patches of rain has removed through the evening, said you're heading

:10:28. > :10:32.out, taken on Bella. It Wednesday, it is the potential to the rain, but

:10:33. > :10:36.uncertainty as to where it will be, so don't take the picture to

:10:37. > :10:40.literally. They will be cloud as well, temperatures of easing a

:10:41. > :10:46.maximum of 11 Celsius. BB is coming up from the south. Thursday, not too

:10:47. > :10:52.dry, some cloud around, the odd spot of drizzle. Temperatures still in

:10:53. > :10:55.the double figures. A similar story into Friday, plenty of cloud around

:10:56. > :10:58.and the chance of brighter intervals.

:10:59. > :11:01.In a few moments we'll have a full national forecast,

:11:02. > :11:01.but for now I'll leave you with a look at the outlook.

:11:02. > :11:08.at the weekend it will be mild. Largely dry, perhaps a wind -- windy
