:00:17. > :00:18.First tonight, a man's appeared in court today,
:00:19. > :00:20.charged with seven sex offences against women in Derby.
:00:21. > :00:24.It follows an extensive police appeal this week for public help,
:00:25. > :00:26.in what they called their highest priority investigation.
:00:27. > :00:35.James Roberson was at the court hearing earlier.
:00:36. > :00:41.This is West Road, the scene of two of the alleged attacks. These
:00:42. > :00:45.incidents received considerable publicity over the last three years
:00:46. > :00:49.and last night, Derbyshire police announced they have charged a man
:00:50. > :00:56.with seven offences. First thing this morning, a 23-year-old man,
:00:57. > :00:59.Elijah Hai, from Derby, appeared at Derby magistrate Court. It is
:01:00. > :01:06.alleging he attacked three women over a 15 month period. One charge
:01:07. > :01:10.relates to an attack on a woman in September 2014 in this lien here in
:01:11. > :01:15.Derby. The second incident relates to another woman a year later. There
:01:16. > :01:20.are five separate charges in connection with that attack. The
:01:21. > :01:24.last incident involves a third woman, that a legit attack happened
:01:25. > :01:30.in December 2015, I came here in this part of town. Mr Harry was
:01:31. > :01:35.remanded in custody and will appear at Derby Crown Court next month. In
:01:36. > :01:38.a separate development, police have appealed for information about
:01:39. > :01:41.another serious sexual assault last month in the still Lane area. Those
:01:42. > :01:45.investigations are continuing. The bank account of a Leicester
:01:46. > :01:47.charity's been frozen, while the Charity Commission
:01:48. > :01:48.investigates its You might remember last year we told
:01:49. > :01:52.you about the Bhaarat Welfare Trust. It was looking after donations
:01:53. > :01:54.for a dedicated Hindu crematorium in Leicester,
:01:55. > :02:19.but instead spent almost ?100,000 It should have been money for a new
:02:20. > :02:24.crematorium for Hindus and Sikhs. ?96,000 was raised over the years by
:02:25. > :02:27.would have provided the facility would have provided the facility
:02:28. > :02:32.which otherwise is not available at the moment. For example, the chapels
:02:33. > :02:37.are a bit too small, the service plan is a bit too small. It is a
:02:38. > :02:42.shame that this hasn't happened yet. The donations were handed over for
:02:43. > :02:46.safe keeping to the Bhaarat Welfare Trust. When the time it came for the
:02:47. > :02:50.money to be given back some years later, the charity said its trustees
:02:51. > :02:54.had decided the crematorium project was no longer viable and so agreed
:02:55. > :03:02.to divert the cash to its own project in India. The group was so
:03:03. > :03:06.concerned they contacted the Charity commission in 2012. Its officials
:03:07. > :03:09.were equally worried. The Charity commission found serious issues with
:03:10. > :03:14.Bhaarat Welfare Trust when it first visited the charity in 2015. In
:03:15. > :03:18.particular, it had concerns about the ability of its trustees to
:03:19. > :03:22.account for funds transferred to India over a five-year period and
:03:23. > :03:26.over how donations for the crematorium project were held. The
:03:27. > :03:31.commission says the charity's response to its concerns have been
:03:32. > :03:36.lacking. In a statement, Bhaarat Welfare Trust says it has and will
:03:37. > :03:40.continue to cooperate with the Charity commission. It has given
:03:41. > :03:46.them the information they requested. It is confident this information
:03:47. > :03:49.will address the concerns. In the meantime, if bank account means the
:03:50. > :03:53.Bhaarat Welfare Trust cannot make any payments without getting consent
:03:54. > :03:57.from the Charity commission. The watchdog says while it cannot advise
:03:58. > :03:59.donors, people should use their own judgment on whether or not they wish
:04:00. > :04:01.to donate to the charity. A murder inquiry's underway
:04:02. > :04:04.in Shepshed after a man Police were called to the Gelders
:04:05. > :04:09.Hall industrial estate last night. It was reported a car had hit
:04:10. > :04:12.a wall, but they found the driver's injuries weren't consistent
:04:13. > :04:14.with a crash. A 22-year-old man from
:04:15. > :04:20.Coalville has been arrested. A new garden based heritage project
:04:21. > :04:22.has started in Nottingham. It's telling the story
:04:23. > :04:25.of the allotments in St Ann's. They're not only grade two listed,
:04:26. > :04:28.but also believed to be the oldest and largest of their kind in the UK,
:04:29. > :04:46.if not the world. Behind every hedgerow, something
:04:47. > :04:52.different. This 75 acre site in the heart of Nottingham is home to 600
:04:53. > :04:57.allotments. Now it's incredible history and current diversity are
:04:58. > :05:00.being celebrated. The team here has launched a range of vegetable seeds
:05:01. > :05:05.from different time periods that this glorious green space has
:05:06. > :05:10.witnessed. It is a celebration, the fact we are still here, that these
:05:11. > :05:14.allotments were laid out in the 1840s. Almost 200 years. I want
:05:15. > :05:18.That is what this is about. The That is what this is about. The
:05:19. > :05:24.Heritage Project also features plants. This is the nursery, the
:05:25. > :05:27.behind the scenes area to the growing Heritage Project. Here we
:05:28. > :05:32.have fruit trees being grown. There are roses and a variety of different
:05:33. > :05:36.heritage flowers. This might look quite there right now, but by this
:05:37. > :05:43.summer, this area will be full of colour. The site was well known for
:05:44. > :05:47.Rose shows in Victorian times and in the 1930s. There will be roses that
:05:48. > :05:52.we knew were definitely grown here and that is great, to have that
:05:53. > :05:55.provenance. It is a great way for people to take things home and get
:05:56. > :06:00.their hands dirty and get involved and something that gives you a look
:06:01. > :06:04.at the past. The Monument trust funded project has been one year in
:06:05. > :06:06.the making and now they are seeing the fruits of their Labour.
:06:07. > :06:09.And finally celebrations have been taking place around the world,
:06:10. > :06:11.and across the East Midlands, to mark St Patrick's Day.
:06:12. > :06:14.In Nottingham hundreds of people joined a parade through the city.
:06:15. > :06:16.It ended at a festival of Irish dancing and music
:06:17. > :06:33.Let's check on the weekend's weather now, how's it looking Sara?
:06:34. > :06:40.It would have been nice for this old is to get sunshine but am sure it
:06:41. > :06:46.didn't dampen the spirit at all. It was a cloudy day. Captured here by
:06:47. > :06:50.one of our weather watchers. We have had some rain around through the
:06:51. > :06:54.season and that is linked to the weather from working down from the
:06:55. > :06:57.north-west. It is tending to ease a little bit, searching across
:06:58. > :07:01.Leicestershire. I think we will continue to see a little bit of rain
:07:02. > :07:06.across Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire overnight. Quite
:07:07. > :07:09.murky conditions over there. The daytime temperature in Celsius. A
:07:10. > :07:14.windy and blustery night and the wind will continue to be strong
:07:15. > :07:18.through Saturday morning. It eases in the middle part of the day and
:07:19. > :07:22.picks up through the afternoon. The cold might begin to allow some
:07:23. > :07:27.drizzle. We could see a fair bit of practice round tomorrow. A daytime
:07:28. > :07:30.temperature of 13 or 14 Celsius. More wet weather and windy
:07:31. > :07:34.conditions in store on Sunday. I will leave you with the Outlook. In
:07:35. > :07:41.it is rather breezy. Now for the national outlook.
:07:42. > :07:51.It was quite a wet day across many northern and western parts of the
:07:52. > :07:52.UK. This was the view in Lancashire not so long ago. For the weekend we
