:00:23. > :00:25.Some of our MPs were close by when the deadly
:00:26. > :00:44.I was walking with lots of other MPs from Portcullis House
:00:45. > :00:46.towards the main building, the House of Commons
:00:47. > :00:48.chamber, and suddenly heard the shots ring out.
:00:49. > :00:50.You know, there was lots of yelling, people
:00:51. > :00:52.shouting to get on the floor, to go back.
:00:53. > :00:55.Yes, a very, very shocking incident and thoughts are with those
:00:56. > :01:02.People can attack this building, but this building
:01:03. > :01:06.In the end, freedom and democracy will win, and I think that is
:01:07. > :01:14.Lots of people vote for me, but lots of
:01:15. > :01:17.people don't vote for me, and that is the beauty of democracy.
:01:18. > :01:19.We will never let people like this defeat us
:01:20. > :01:25.Well, afterwards, police kept everyone
:01:26. > :01:29.Houses of Parliament while they checked credentials.
:01:30. > :01:32.One of those caught up in all of this was our
:01:33. > :01:34.political editor, Tony Roe, who joins us now.
:01:35. > :01:37.Tony, what was happening during the five hours that
:01:38. > :01:40.you were effectively trapped inside the building?
:01:41. > :01:46.We heard shouting from the entrance to Portcullis House,
:01:47. > :01:48.which is where the MPs have their offices.
:01:49. > :01:51.It is the big, new glass building and I was sitting there,
:01:52. > :01:55.There was a panic near the entrance and what
:01:56. > :01:57.sounded like somebody shouting very loudly on a megaphone.
:01:58. > :01:59.We thought there was somebody trying to get
:02:00. > :02:02.into the building at first, but then you could see people
:02:03. > :02:06.in the street running away from Westminster Bridge
:02:07. > :02:14.And people were coming into the building as well.
:02:15. > :02:18.One person said to me that he was going through security at the time,
:02:19. > :02:21.he was a visitor to Parliament and he said he was ushered through
:02:22. > :02:24.quickly before he had his checks completed.
:02:25. > :02:27.And as we were ushered in, we were told to get to the back
:02:28. > :02:30.of the building, as far away from the road as we could
:02:31. > :02:33.and at that point, police came out of the back of the
:02:34. > :02:38.The police were running into something they probably
:02:39. > :02:41.didn't know anything about and we have seen
:02:42. > :02:48.And when we were escorted from the building
:02:49. > :02:49.after nearly five hours, were taken out of a side entrance
:02:50. > :02:53.of the House of Commons and the road Those same police
:02:54. > :02:57.who lost one of their Next, an exclusive interview

:03:05. > :03:07.that her investigation into Nottinghamshire children's

:04:08. > :04:09.to talk to us. I do know something about
:04:10. > :04:15.the behaviour of institutions... It is important to hear
:04:16. > :04:17.their story, their experiences The one thing that we have to do
:04:18. > :04:22.is we have to create a society The independent inquiry has
:04:23. > :04:31.already heard from a former Nottingham social worker,
:04:32. > :04:32.Margaret Humphreys, who traced children in care who were shipped
:04:33. > :04:35.across the British Empire but, after so many years, what can
:04:36. > :04:41.the abuse inquiry really achieve? Many people who have been
:04:42. > :04:43.abused in Nottingham and elsewhere can come forward
:04:44. > :04:46.and share their experiences with us. It is not intended to be
:04:47. > :04:48.therapeutic, but it For the survivors of child sexual
:04:49. > :04:59.abuse, the memories won't fade, and the professor's independent
:05:00. > :05:02.inquiry won't bring back The hope is that it can at least
:05:03. > :05:13.protect future generations. Nottingham's been awarded nearly
:05:14. > :05:15.one million pounds to help The Government cash will be spent
:05:16. > :05:19.installing more than 30 charging points around the city for private

:06:14. > :06:16.indecently assaulting two girls and raping a third at several
:06:17. > :06:18.locations near Mansfield It is claimed he took advantage
:06:19. > :06:31.of three underage girls. The allegations date
:06:32. > :06:34.back to the 1970s, the first when he was
:06:35. > :06:36.a newly qualified teacher. It was heard he sexually
:06:37. > :06:40.touched a girl during story time, and then
:06:41. > :06:45.after a swimming lesson. He is also charged with
:06:46. > :06:49.indecently assaulting another girl aged nine or ten years old,
:06:50. > :06:53.and of raping a third girl, She was in care here
:06:54. > :07:02.at a Christopher Metcalfe
:07:03. > :07:09.was teaching rural studies here. She says he took her
:07:10. > :07:12.back to his home and raped her in his front room,
:07:13. > :07:15.saying he would get her if Prosecuting Sarah Knight said
:07:16. > :07:23.Christopher Metcalfe took advantage of his position
:07:24. > :07:26.of trust and authority. She said the women had not
:07:27. > :07:29.colluded, they don't know each other, and their
:07:30. > :07:31.complaints are quite separate, she said,

:08:48. > :08:53.working along the road to get as much of the litter up as possible.
:08:54. > :08:58.Is it a growing problem? Do you have to do it every year? Yes, and it
:08:59. > :09:04.varies from year to year. It's better this year and we have the
:09:05. > :09:11.message is getting through now. And also to make sure commercial weights
