:04:14. > :04:15.Samantha Baldwin, who's 42 and from Newark,

:04:16. > :04:24.Jo Healey has been at a police briefing tonight -

:04:25. > :04:34.Good evening, Morris. As you say, this has gone from being a missing

:04:35. > :04:38.persons appeal to an abduction investigation. Samantha Baldwin is

:04:39. > :04:44.now wanted on suspicion of abducting her two sons. Lewis, nine, and

:04:45. > :04:49.Dylan, six. She has no legal custody of them. I can tell you that the

:04:50. > :04:54.police admit to make arrests. Two children delete them women aged 62

:04:55. > :04:57.and 36 are in police custody tonight accused of assisting an offender.

:04:58. > :05:05.But they need to find the mother and the boys. My first appeal would be

:05:06. > :05:10.to some answer. For her to return the two boys safe and well. My

:05:11. > :05:15.second appeal is for anybody who has any information about the

:05:16. > :05:19.whereabouts of Samantha and the two boys to contact us on the numbers we

:05:20. > :05:20.have given. Our primary focus is to get those two boys back safe and

:05:21. > :05:27.well. There are now 100 officers well. There are now 100 officers

:05:28. > :05:33.from the region and nationally who are working on this. There have been

:05:34. > :05:37.thousands of calls and messages and eight sightings. Six have been ruled

:05:38. > :05:41.out. Two are still being investigated. But the police say

:05:42. > :05:49.they need more help to find those young boys.

:05:50. > :05:50.They do very much, Jo. -- thank you very much.

:05:51. > :05:52.A retired teacher from Nottinghamshire has taken

:05:53. > :05:55.the witness stand to deny a string of historical child sex offences.

:05:56. > :05:57.Christopher Metcalfe's accused of raping a teenager,

:05:58. > :05:59.Our Social Affairs Correspondent, Jeremy Ball,

:06:00. > :06:08.Christopher Metcalfe was asked in detail about allegations that go

:06:09. > :06:12.repeatedly denied sexually abusing repeatedly denied sexually abusing

:06:13. > :06:17.19-year old girl who was in his class in Mansfield. She said that

:06:18. > :06:20.Christopher Metcalfe kissed her and touched inappropriately. She says he

:06:21. > :06:28.did it at a swimming pool during a story time class and at his own

:06:29. > :06:32.farm. Today he told a jury that pupils sometimes visit there but

:06:33. > :06:36.that was to see animals, he said. He also explained why he took a

:06:37. > :06:40.teenager home after he moved onto the street in Ashfield. He said he

:06:41. > :06:44.was simply stopping to drop his dogs off after agreeing to give her a

:06:45. > :06:49.lift from the children at home where she was a resident. To college

:06:50. > :06:53.nearby. His barrister said, did you rape her, Mr Metcalfe? He replied,

:06:54. > :06:59.clearly and confidently, no, I did not. Under cross-examination this

:07:00. > :07:03.afternoon he was challenged over why he had changed his initial account

:07:04. > :07:07.of what happened, telling the police that he was not aware of whether he

:07:08. > :07:11.had kissed the girl in the shower. Christopher Metcalfe told the jury

:07:12. > :07:14.that was because he had only just been arrested. I was suffering from

:07:15. > :07:16.shock, he said, I had a panic attack and I did not know what was going

:07:17. > :07:22.on. So that letter has been signed,

:07:23. > :07:24.sealed and sent ... Britain's separation

:07:25. > :07:26.from the European Union "It's happened -

:07:27. > :07:28.and there's no turning back." That's what Theresa May said

:07:29. > :07:31.as she formally triggered Brexit. Our Political Editor Tony Roe

:07:32. > :07:43.has been in Westminster The Article 50 process is now

:07:44. > :07:48.underway. The moment long awaited by those so-called Eurosceptics. Now we

:07:49. > :07:51.have what they have always wanted. This is a historic day for our

:07:52. > :07:55.country and our democracy. On the 23rd of June we had a vote which the

:07:56. > :07:59.majority of people in the UK voted to leave the European Union. The

:08:00. > :08:03.overwhelming majority of people in the Midlands voted to leave the

:08:04. > :08:08.European Union and the will of the British people is being enacted. We

:08:09. > :08:12.will take back control of our laws. In Parliament, many European

:08:13. > :08:17.languages could be heard among the journalists where a media village

:08:18. > :08:22.had sprung up. Sorting out you can work in the UK from the EU is a

:08:23. > :08:25.priority for those who are not Eurosceptics. People like the East

:08:26. > :08:29.Midlands chamber, local businesses, they need to be very clear and the

:08:30. > :08:33.NHS and public services, about the labour that they need from overseas,

:08:34. > :08:37.the people that are coming, the contribution that they are making,

:08:38. > :08:41.so that we can have a proper understanding of the immigration

:08:42. > :08:44.needs of the East Midlands. As detail emerges, will be Prime

:08:45. > :08:47.Minister ensure that everyone in her team stops the practice which has

:08:48. > :08:52.been so prevalent of claiming that every awkward question is evidence

:08:53. > :08:58.of a desire to overturn the will of the British people. Because nothing

:08:59. > :09:02.will no more surely destroy that unity that she seeks. Echoing the

:09:03. > :09:09.words from EU, not a happy day for everybody. One MP said she fears

:09:10. > :09:13.that the country has lost the plot. She is worried about the future. The

:09:14. > :09:18.Prime Minister said that now the process is underway, it is time to

:09:19. > :09:26.come together as a nation. We are all Eurosceptics now. A week on from

:09:27. > :09:26.the attack at Westminster, vigil has been held in Leicester.

:09:27. > :09:29.Dozens of people from all faiths gathered on Welford Road this

:09:30. > :09:33.It's one of a number of events being held

:09:34. > :09:35.across the country to mark the attack, which left four people

:09:36. > :09:48.Good evening. After a fairly cloudy and damp day today, it looks like

:09:49. > :09:52.things will improve as we move into tomorrow. Those temperatures

:09:53. > :09:56.creeping up into the high teens. That is thanks to a shift in the

:09:57. > :10:00.wind direction from a south-westerly to a southerly. We still have low

:10:01. > :10:05.pressure in charge of our weather. As we go through tonight, it will

:10:06. > :10:12.stay fairly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain particularly as we move into

:10:13. > :10:16.the early hours. But a mild night, with temperatures falling to an

:10:17. > :10:20.overnight low of 11 degrees. That is how we start the day tomorrow.

:10:21. > :10:28.Fairly cloudy but wild. Some outbreaks of rain. After we move

:10:29. > :10:32.into the afternoon, things are brightening up with a fair amount of

:10:33. > :10:35.cloud around. Some sunny spells with temperatures reaching a maximum of

:10:36. > :10:41.18 or 19 Celsius. Feeling warm in any sunshine. Moving through Friday,

:10:42. > :10:44.we've got a cold front making its way across from the West. That will

:10:45. > :10:50.introduce some cooler air and showery outbreaks. There will be a

:10:51. > :10:54.fresher feel to the weekend as we again April with some showers.

:10:55. > :10:59.Temperatures on Saturday not doing quite as well. Still roundabout

:11:00. > :11:01.average. A maximum of 14 Celsius. I will leave you with the Outlook.

:11:02. > :11:06.That is far. The outlook for the next few

:11:07. > :11:09.days, temperatures coming down a bit but staying decent for this time of

:11:10. > :11:14.year. Here is Darren Bett with the national weather.

:11:15. > :11:20.The warm air coming up on a southerly breeze all the way from

:11:21. > :11:23.Iberia and across France into England and Wales. To achieve the

:11:24. > :11:28.high temperatures we need to get into some of this dryer air and

:11:29. > :11:31.sunshine. Even with the cloud today, 17 degrees. Not just about the

:11:32. > :11:35.temperatures, let's not forget there is some rain around as well. Quite

:11:36. > :11:40.wet in Pembrokeshire for much of the day. More rain overnight tonight,

:11:41. > :11:43.some rain and drizzle in northern and western areas. Wetter weather

:11:44. > :11:47.moving northwards across Scotland. Some rain in the south-west,

:11:48. > :11:51.shuffling towards the Midlands. Overnight, a lot of cloud around. It

:11:52. > :11:56.is going to be very mild indeed for the time of year, 11-12 in many

:11:57. > :11:57.parts of the country. This is an sunshine beginning
