:00:22. > :00:25.First tonight, hospitals and NHS services across the East Midlands

:00:26. > :00:28.are reporting that they are affected by the cyber attack which is

:00:29. > :00:31.Some are having to shut down phone and IT services,

:00:32. > :00:34.Weekend appointments are also being cancelled.

:00:35. > :00:36.NHS Digital has said it does not believe patient

:00:37. > :00:46.Our health correspondent Rob Sissons has been following events.

:00:47. > :00:51.What can you tell us about the East Midlands situation?

:00:52. > :00:54.We know that some organisations have been attacked by what is

:00:55. > :00:56.called a malware attack - ransomware that encrypts data

:00:57. > :01:11.and demands a ransom, in exhange for unencrypting it.

:01:12. > :01:13.and demands a ransom, in exchange for unencrypting it.

:01:14. > :01:15.Two organisations that we know have been affected

:01:16. > :01:17.are Lincolnshire Trust, which run Grantham Hospital,

:01:18. > :01:20.They have cancelled some outpatient work this weekend.

:01:21. > :01:23.We also know that Kingsmill Hospital in Sutton in Ashfield was affected.

:01:24. > :01:25.A consultant in accident and emergency there has

:01:26. > :01:26.described how the computer screens went blank.

:01:27. > :01:29.He said they have had to revert back to the

:01:30. > :01:32.old-fashioned way of doing things, which is pen and paper, but that

:01:33. > :01:47.It is getting difficult for us, because

:01:48. > :01:49.we've got a lot of patients here and it takes is an awful lot of

:01:50. > :01:52.time for us to process the information on a paper system.

:01:53. > :01:54.I had a lady who had serious back pains,

:01:55. > :01:55.which could potentially paralyse her.

:01:56. > :01:58.We had to divert her to the Queen's Medical Centre.

:01:59. > :02:02.We know that that other hospital trusts have been taking precautions.

:02:03. > :02:04.Some have switched off their computers and rebooted them,

:02:05. > :02:14.Nottingham has not had a direct attack, but they say

:02:15. > :02:18.have had to shut down some systems, but say accident and emergency

:02:19. > :02:23.The big question is, have cyber hackers got

:02:24. > :02:25.hold of confidential and sensitive patient information data.

:02:26. > :02:28.At this stage, I do not think we have got an answer to that.

:02:29. > :02:30.What has the reaction been elsewhere?

:02:31. > :02:32.The Patient Association has questioned the quality of the

:02:33. > :02:34.NHS Providers, which represent the NHS

:02:35. > :02:36.organisations, say that everyone is working together,

:02:37. > :02:43.in what has been declared "a major incident" by NHS England.

:02:44. > :02:52.The head of a company which conned thousands of customers in a huge

:02:53. > :02:55.cold-calling scam has been ordered by a judge to hand over

:02:56. > :02:57.?1.2 million under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

:02:58. > :02:59.The daughter of one his victims says the pay-out brings

:03:00. > :03:02.It has been the biggest investigation led

:03:03. > :03:03.by Trading Standards in the East Midlands.

:03:04. > :03:11.Jonathan Rivers is currently serving a six-year jail sentence,

:03:12. > :03:17.Today, he was back at Nottingham Crown Court.

:03:18. > :03:25.He was ordered to pay ?1.2 million under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

:03:26. > :03:27.Rivers, formerly from Coleshill in Birmingham, was the owner

:03:28. > :03:32.of a publishing company, Wyvern Media Group, based in Derby.

:03:33. > :03:35.Under his direction, employees pressured small firms into buying

:03:36. > :03:38.worthless advertisements. Staff were told to tell lies.

:03:39. > :03:40.False names were used and claims about readership were exaggerated.

:03:41. > :03:49.Unauthorised withdrawals were also made from customer accounts.

:03:50. > :03:54.The company had an estimated annual turnover of ?7 million.

:03:55. > :03:56.One of those customers were the Moyles.

:03:57. > :03:58.They were persuaded to place an advertisement

:03:59. > :04:02.Ultimately, they were conned out of over ?20,000.

:04:03. > :04:09.The calls from Wyvern Media were absolutely beyond belief.

:04:10. > :04:11.They were literally every 20 minutes, starting first

:04:12. > :04:14.thing in the morning, going on until the last

:04:15. > :04:16.possible moment at the end of the working day.

:04:17. > :04:28.It was like a, sort of, torture - a constant torture.

:04:29. > :04:36.In October last year, ten people, including Rivers,

:04:37. > :04:38.were sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison.

:04:39. > :04:41.This was their largest investigation taken on by the regional

:04:42. > :04:43.Trading Standards in East Midlands and also the largest

:04:44. > :04:56.investigation for the Proceeds of Crime Act we've undertaken.

:04:57. > :04:58.Rivers was order to pay ?1.2 million.

:04:59. > :05:00.If he does not, he will face a further sentence

:05:01. > :05:10.Drayton Manor Theme park will reopen tomorrow after the death

:05:11. > :05:12.of a Leicester schoolgirl at the attraction earlier this week.

:05:13. > :05:14.11-year-old Eva Jannath died after falling from

:05:15. > :05:19.The park says the Splash Canyon and surrounding rides will remain
