:00:46. > :00:47.Garden villages are one of the ways it is trying to ease

:00:48. > :01:01.This one, off the A50 between Sinfin and Stenson fields,

:01:02. > :01:12.But one local councillor says the Government has already failed

:01:13. > :01:14.to meet its criteria for what a Garden

:01:15. > :01:18.Village is supposed to be, by choosing this site.

:01:19. > :01:24.All of the new housing built at the northern end will be facing

:01:25. > :01:25.over more than a mile existing houses.

:01:26. > :01:27.They're going to pretend that that is somehow

:01:28. > :01:32.It doesn't meet the criteria on that ground, and it doesn't meet the one

:01:33. > :01:36.Not a blade of grass around here is in public ownership.

:01:37. > :01:38.And they say it should be brownfield land.

:01:39. > :01:40.Well, again, this has been farmed for time immemorial.

:01:41. > :01:42.The plans have also received a mixed reaction

:01:49. > :01:50.It is going to be overcrowded, a busy road.

:04:44. > :04:46.they are alarmed at plans to increase the amount of rubbish

:04:47. > :04:53.An incinerator is due to open at Sinfin in Derby later this year.

:04:56. > :05:08.They made their message clear from the beginning,

:05:09. > :05:10.but the campaigners failed to dissuade the City Council not

:05:11. > :05:18.In 2013, a permit was granted for a new incinerator at Sinfin,

:05:19. > :05:20.which will burn 140,000 tonnes of waste every year.

:05:21. > :05:22.But now the company behind the scheme wants to increase that

:05:23. > :05:30.Derby has already been told by the Government it needs to do

:05:31. > :05:32.more to improve air quality, to make sure it doesn't

:05:33. > :05:37.DEFRA have just targeted Derby directly in relation to air quality.

:05:38. > :05:39.This plant is going to reduce air quality.

:05:40. > :05:43.Therefore, any increase in combustion brings

:05:44. > :05:58.Me being a local resident, I find that concerning.

:05:59. > :06:10.The owners of the plant say they have applied to increase capacity

:06:11. > :06:16.and they will monitor air quality at the site.

:06:17. > :06:18.Consultation on the proposals ends on 20 January.

:06:19. > :06:21.The parents of a man who died from leukaemia are urging more sixth
