:00:14. > :00:17.First tonight, residents in Derby are clearing up this evening

:00:18. > :00:23.For hours, the water was spouting from the broken

:00:24. > :00:26.main in Chester Green, damaging nearby homes.

:00:27. > :00:32.This traumatic footage was captured at around 2:30am,

:00:33. > :00:40.At 10am, the water burst was much reduced but the houses directly

:00:41. > :00:44.affected showed damage to windows, the roof,

:00:45. > :00:51.Inside one of them, Dawn, too upset to be shown on camera,

:00:52. > :00:57.I was woken up with a horrendous noise of crashing, glass breaking.

:00:58. > :01:00.I couldn't comprehend what was happening.

:01:01. > :01:06.And then some people at the back shouted to get out.

:01:07. > :01:15.It was so ferocious, it's taken them 6.5 hours to close it down.

:01:16. > :01:18.Meanwhile, dozens of other houses had also been flooded,

:01:19. > :01:24.It's literally just destroyed everything.

:01:25. > :01:28.It's destroyed the washing machine, the kitchen.

:01:29. > :01:30.I mean, we've got a dog and cat upstairs.

:01:31. > :01:33.The lady upstairs, who is pregnant, they've just all done their house

:01:34. > :01:38.Tonight, Severn Trent say they've now closed the burst off fully

:01:39. > :01:41.and they've restored water to most houses locally.

:01:42. > :01:50.But it could be several days before the road is fully repaired.

:01:51. > :01:52.Two people have been charged with the murder

:01:53. > :01:56.Timothy Smith, who was 45 and from Tamworth was found dying

:01:57. > :02:00.in a car on the Gelders Hall industrial estate on Thursday night.

:02:01. > :02:05.Mark Law who's 20 and from Sandringham Rise in Shepshed,

:02:06. > :02:15.and a 17-year-old, will appear before magistrates tomorrow.

:02:16. > :02:16.The funeral's taken place of a prominent member

:02:17. > :02:20.Sandy Saunders from Burton Lazars in Leicestershire died

:02:21. > :02:24.Actress Amanda Redman was among the mourners who attended.

:02:25. > :02:27.Last year Sandy Saunders' raised funds for a memorial to the 649

:02:31. > :02:35.He was an extraordinary man, actually.

:02:39. > :02:43.It's the resilience and the stoicism that they all have, actually.

:02:48. > :02:51.of man you felt would go on for ever and ever.

:02:52. > :02:55.It's being claimed people affected by HS2 in a Nottinghamshire village

:02:56. > :02:58.are unfairly missing out on compensation.

:02:59. > :03:03.The high speed rail line will go through Trowell,

:03:04. > :03:05.but because it's been classified as an urban village,

:03:06. > :03:07.residents aren't entitled to as much compensation as others.

:03:08. > :03:10.It's a village already split in half by the M1,

:03:11. > :03:15.and now looks set to be sliced again by HS2.

:03:16. > :03:18.Despite this, Trowell Parish Council says it should be seen not only

:03:19. > :03:23.as one village but wholly as a rural village.

:03:24. > :03:28.HS2, however, has classified much of Trowell as an urban village.

:03:29. > :03:31.Which means people affected by the line in the urban part,

:03:32. > :03:35.the area not surrounded by these multicoloured lines,

:03:36. > :03:41.Trowell village on the map is an area which is slightly

:03:42. > :03:45.to the west of the motorway, and the other half of the village

:03:46. > :03:52.And my belief is they just hadn't realised we are actually part

:03:53. > :03:57.The council wants to see the whole of Trowell reclassified as a rural

:03:58. > :04:01.village and delivered its views in a recent consultation.
