:00:15. > :00:17.A British superbike rider has died after a crash during a race

:00:18. > :00:22.An investigation into the cause is under way,

:00:23. > :00:24.while friends of Mick Whalley, from Kent, have been paying tribute,

:00:25. > :00:30.Mick Whalley, who was in his early 40s, was competing ahead of

:00:31. > :00:34.the British Superbike Championships when the crash happened.

:00:35. > :00:40.Mick was such a bighearted guy with such a big lust for life.

:00:41. > :00:43.If he wasn't at work he was out and about doing

:00:44. > :00:46.something fun and exciting, and just to hear that he's gone

:00:47. > :00:52.The management here at Donington Park said

:00:53. > :00:59.Mr Whalley and other riders who were injured were treated

:01:00. > :01:06.He died later at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre.

:01:07. > :01:09.Leicestershire Police, along with staff here

:01:10. > :01:12.and the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board are

:01:13. > :01:18.He's always been what we call a petrolhead, I guess,

:01:19. > :01:24.More recently he got into track racing.

:01:25. > :01:27.And at the track today, a minute's silence from the crowd

:01:28. > :01:32.for the keen biker and father of two teenage boys.

:01:38. > :01:40.The first trains to stop in Ilkeston in 50 years pulled

:01:41. > :01:45.Until the ?10 million station was unveiled,

:01:46. > :01:47.Ilkeston was said to be one of the biggest towns

:01:48. > :01:49.in Britain with a passenger line running through it,

:01:50. > :01:53.The town's previous station closed following the infamous

:01:54. > :02:10.My dad was the last Station Master at Ilkeston Junction station so we

:02:11. > :02:14.are here today because it is a very significant day. I think it is

:02:15. > :02:18.lovely that they have done this, that they have opened the station

:02:19. > :02:22.again, marvellous. It has been really good, very busy, lots of

:02:23. > :02:26.people coming to going -- and going and for me it will be great because

:02:27. > :02:30.I will use it to go to Manchester Airport to see my relatives in

:02:31. > :02:35.America. I think it is great, it will really open up opportunities

:02:36. > :02:36.for people in Ilkeston and the surrounding areas. A ten minute walk

:02:37. > :02:38.and you can get anywhere. A special school in Loughborough has

:02:39. > :02:40.become a centre of excellence Ashmount School supports

:02:41. > :02:43.around 150 children, and now shares its expertise

:02:44. > :02:45.and best practice, # I spy with my little

:02:46. > :02:49.eye...# A fun lesson

:02:50. > :02:51.at Ashmount School in Loughborough. These children have a

:02:52. > :02:54.wide range of needs. Finding the right way to communicate

:02:55. > :02:58.with each one is essential So, here at Ashmount,

:03:04. > :03:05.and we break that down into smaller groups,

:03:06. > :03:08.so some of them might be using Makaton signing,

:03:09. > :03:12.some might be using symbols, and some might be using objects just

:03:13. > :03:14.to meet that range of Georgia is playing a game

:03:15. > :03:23.by controlling the computer It's a way of using technology

:03:24. > :03:28.to develop communication. It's this kind of expertise

:03:29. > :03:30.which Ashmount is now sharing We are committed to upskilling
