:00:09. > :00:11.in connection with the acid attack at a nightclub - we hear

:00:12. > :00:15.All of a sudden, my arm, my back started burning and then

:00:16. > :00:17.people were just running over screaming because

:00:18. > :00:25.An explosion at a property in north London injures four people -

:00:26. > :00:38.More than 70 firefighters have worked for several hours to bring

:00:39. > :00:49.the fire under control. It's not known yet what has caused this

:00:50. > :00:53.explosion. Also, what is on the cards for young people that are

:00:54. > :00:54.voting for the first time in the general election.

:00:55. > :00:57.And runaway bride - why it's going to be a big day

:00:58. > :01:04.for this woman from Greenwich - even before the marathon starts.

:01:05. > :01:08.Good evening and welcome to the programme, with me Riz Lateef.

:01:09. > :01:13.Police are continuing to search for a man they'd like to question

:01:14. > :01:15.about an acid attack at a London nightclub.

:01:16. > :01:20.They're looking for Arthur Collins from Broxbourne.

:01:21. > :01:22.His girlfriend, the TV celebrity Ferne McCann,

:01:23. > :01:26.20 people were injured in this attack - the latest in a growing

:01:27. > :01:28.number of similar assaults across the capital.

:01:29. > :01:32.The club was really packed and everyone was dancing.

:01:33. > :01:40.I think everyone was having genuinely a good time.

:01:41. > :01:41.This clubner, who wants to remain anonymous,

:01:42. > :01:43.told us she was horrified by what happened next.

:01:44. > :01:48.All of a sudden, my arm and my back started burning and then people

:01:49. > :01:56.were just running over, screaming because they had it

:01:57. > :01:59.all in their eyes and people's faces were really, really burnt.

:02:00. > :02:03.It was awful and you could see where the acid had splashed on their face.

:02:04. > :02:05.The emergency services were called to the Mangle E8 club in Dalston

:02:06. > :02:09.Officers believe acid was sprayed by a male suspect

:02:10. > :02:13.The police want to question a man, Arthur Collins.

:02:14. > :02:16.This image was taken of him at the club.

:02:17. > :02:19.Here he can be seen with reality TV star Ferne McCann,

:02:20. > :02:21.who wasn't with him at the time of the incident.

:02:22. > :02:31.In a statement, a spokesperson for the star said...

:02:32. > :02:34.Two men are in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

:02:35. > :02:38.20 people were injured, including Isabella Fraser.

:02:39. > :02:41.She was in the club with her sister, Prue, at the time.

:02:42. > :02:44.They are from Australia and spoke to a channel there.

:02:45. > :02:48.Someone just ran into me and had acid or something

:02:49. > :02:54.all over their face and I felt it on my back.

:02:55. > :02:56.I thought someone had scratched me or something because I was stinging

:02:57. > :02:59.and then I realised my shirt was actually stuck to my skin.

:03:00. > :03:04.Everyone was saying, it's acid that's been thrown.

:03:05. > :03:10.This is the third incident that we know about in the last two weeks.

:03:11. > :03:13.This type of crime used to be considered relatively rare

:03:14. > :03:16.but in the last six years there's been an upward trend.

:03:17. > :03:19.Figures obtained by BBC London showed that acid

:03:20. > :03:21.attacks are at the highest levels since 2011.

:03:22. > :03:23.There were 452 victims last year alone.

:03:24. > :03:25.Almost 100% more than the year before.

:03:26. > :03:34.Some blame this on the availability of such substances

:03:35. > :03:41.These are much easier to buy in other weapons.

:03:42. > :03:46.There is no specific offence of throwing acid.

:03:47. > :03:49.It would have to be determined as grievous bodily harm,

:03:50. > :03:51.for instance, and the sentencing is perhaps not reflective

:03:52. > :03:58.of the dreadful, dreadful damage that can be done here.

:03:59. > :04:00.This is not just an attempt to disfigure somebody,

:04:01. > :04:07.this is an attempt to destroy their image, their future.

:04:08. > :04:13.Those who set out to have an innocent drink and a dance

:04:14. > :04:16.this weekend but were caught up in the attack said they

:04:17. > :04:28.What police saying about the search for Arthur Collins? They would like

:04:29. > :04:32.information on the whereabouts on the 25-year-old. He is from

:04:33. > :04:37.Hertfordshire he is wanted for questioning. Detectives say he

:04:38. > :04:42.should not be approached. If members of the public see him, they should

:04:43. > :04:46.dial 909. Two other men are wanted in connection to the antigen. There

:04:47. > :04:54.is nothing to suggest this is gang-related at this stage. What do

:04:55. > :05:00.we know that the victims? 12 people at a hospital. A total of 20 people

:05:01. > :05:05.suffered burns. Two men aged 24 and 29 were transferred to a specialist

:05:06. > :05:08.burns unit in Essex and remain in a serious but stable condition. Thank

:05:09. > :05:09.you very much indeed. So, it was announced yesterday

:05:10. > :05:11.and became official today. And party leaders have already been

:05:12. > :05:13.hitting the campaign This morning, the Lib Dem leader

:05:14. > :05:19.Tim Farron promised to "park his party's tanks on the Tory

:05:20. > :05:23.lawns of southwest London". By this afternoon, Labour leader

:05:24. > :05:26.Jeremy Corbyn was visiting the key Here's our political

:05:27. > :05:59.correspondent, Karl Mercer. The election may have been a

:06:00. > :06:06.surprise but the banners are ready and game is on. Six places stage

:06:07. > :06:11.left. The Lib Dems don't have much to cheer about in London is of the

:06:12. > :06:17.chose Richmond Park on day one of the campaign. Server only won this

:06:18. > :06:26.seat in December, beating that Goldsmith. This success she believes

:06:27. > :06:30.good. We took the message to begin service of Government body plans to

:06:31. > :06:37.Brexit. I'm hoping that we take the opportunity to do so again. Lots of

:06:38. > :06:44.Lib Dems lost the seat last general election. All that like they would

:06:45. > :06:47.like to stand again. The hugely important significance is for us. We

:06:48. > :06:56.are looking like places like Vauxhall. Heavily pro-Leave and

:06:57. > :07:01.labour. Every liberal urgency. -- constituency. Their proponents are

:07:02. > :07:07.ready. They will point out that liberal have two out of three seat

:07:08. > :07:11.in north London. He allowed the tuition fees go through. It has

:07:12. > :07:15.policies that have left families unable to access legal aid in this

:07:16. > :07:21.constituency. If you Lib Dems want to choose Sir Simon, that is their

:07:22. > :07:27.decision. It's a similar story for the woman that beat Vince Cable last

:07:28. > :07:30.time round. I do not know what is wrong with me but I am looking

:07:31. > :07:34.forward to the eviction. I think it's because you are talking to

:07:35. > :07:41.people. That is what I remember in 2015 when the polls start at ten

:07:42. > :07:46.o'clock and I had the feeling of, oh. Labour's bridge was in London's

:07:47. > :07:52.most marginal seat in Croydon. Labour health but only by a few

:07:53. > :07:59.votes. Labour council in court is building has a. I want a Labour

:08:00. > :08:07.Government that builds council housing. The rallying cries have

:08:08. > :08:08.only just started. There are 50 more days of this to come.

:08:09. > :08:11.So - if this surprise election is going to change London's

:08:12. > :08:12.political landscape, what impact could

:08:13. > :08:15.Some won't have been eligible for the EU Referendum -

:08:16. > :08:18.but their first vote could decide how Brexit affects the capital,

:08:19. > :08:22.as Frankie Mccamley has been finding out.

:08:23. > :08:26.In a snap general election, there is only one game to play

:08:27. > :08:30.to find out what these young voters will be looking out

:08:31. > :08:43.Well, the way I see it, she's like a mad head teacher.

:08:44. > :08:46.Now she's called the election it's like, well, maybe this Jeremy Corbyn

:08:47. > :08:48.might have an idea or Labour or Lib Dems.

:08:49. > :08:52.If you open up the floor, you don't know what people are going to say.

:08:53. > :08:57.It's not just the people, it's also the services on offer.

:08:58. > :09:07.I'm a massive fan of it because it's still free health care,

:09:08. > :09:10.there's going to be a lot of issues with it, I'll be looking for someone

:09:11. > :09:15.Obviously, if you're critically ill, it would be amazing if you can

:09:16. > :09:25.If anyone's able to do that, that would be amazing.

:09:26. > :09:27.And what about the reason they're in college today?

:09:28. > :09:32.A few decades ago, people would go to uni because the degree

:09:33. > :09:33.would guarantee them a job when they left.

:09:34. > :09:36.I think it would be great for the universities to offer job

:09:37. > :09:39.Despite their opinions, official figures show in the last

:09:40. > :09:42.general election 18-24-year-olds had the smallest turnout at the polls.

:09:43. > :09:58.The 65 and overs had the biggest turnout of nearly 80%.

:09:59. > :10:03.On social media, some celebrities have been focusing on young voters,

:10:04. > :10:06.urging 18 to 24-year-olds not just to register but to take

:10:07. > :10:09.The question is will it make a difference

:10:10. > :10:20.The answer, well, we have to wait around seven weeks for that.

:10:21. > :10:22.Well, our political editor, Tim Donovan joins us

:10:23. > :10:27.So Tim, MPs voted and made it official today so are we starting

:10:28. > :10:34.to get a better picture of who might be standing?

:10:35. > :10:40.Some details. We will no more in a few days. Some familiar names are

:10:41. > :10:45.shaping up. The Lib Dems have been quick out of the tracks. They are

:10:46. > :10:50.parading some of their new candidates. They should have

:10:51. > :10:58.everybody in place by the end of the week, they say. The Conservatives,

:10:59. > :11:04.we no one of their MPs is standing again. By the end of the week, we

:11:05. > :11:08.will no more there. They say that in that seat and other target seats

:11:09. > :11:14.they would like to win they will place short lists of three in those

:11:15. > :11:21.seats, imposed from Conservative headquarters. Another people -- a

:11:22. > :11:25.number of people lost their seats in 2015 and are now waiting for the

:11:26. > :11:31.cover. None of the Labour MPs are planning to stand down, we hear.

:11:32. > :11:35.Some it was feared would face deselection. We have been told that

:11:36. > :11:40.will not happen. If that does happen within the next 24 hours, people

:11:41. > :11:45.will be able to apply by Sunday and for any other vacant seats in the

:11:46. > :11:47.capital by Sunday. By Monday, we will have a pretty good idea of many

:11:48. > :11:54.mornings. Thank you. Four people have been

:11:55. > :11:56.injured after an explosion Police say bailiffs

:11:57. > :11:59.were at the property Three police officers were injured

:12:00. > :12:14.and another man has been You can see the level of destruction

:12:15. > :12:19.caused to the house by the fire. We understand it began in the basement

:12:20. > :12:24.but quickly involved the entire property. Windows were blown out and

:12:25. > :12:28.tile damage on the roof. Police were called just before midday to reports

:12:29. > :12:34.of a man with a knife. That man was involved in a ongoing housing

:12:35. > :12:40.dispute. He was at the house with some bailiffs and members of his

:12:41. > :12:44.family. After police arrived, there was a small explosion and a suspect

:12:45. > :12:48.was left with serious injuries. He is in a critical condition and

:12:49. > :12:56.people these officers suffered miner injuries. It took 75 after several

:12:57. > :12:59.arrows to put up the place. -- 70 firefighters several others.

:13:00. > :13:01.Several properties either side of the property involved

:13:02. > :13:06.Safety of people is very important to us so we always make sure we've

:13:07. > :13:09.got a safe scene to work in and that if any members of the public

:13:10. > :13:12.might be in danger we will move them away from the scene.

:13:13. > :13:16.This area will probably be cordoned off for the rest of the day whilst

:13:17. > :13:24.It appears this was a domestic incident and police say they are not

:13:25. > :13:29.looking for anyone else in connection. No arrests have been

:13:30. > :13:34.made. They are investigating exactly what led to this place. Meanwhile,

:13:35. > :13:39.the road remains cordoned off as they make the ever safe. -- make the

:13:40. > :13:40.surrounding area safe. Dressing up to run the marathon -

:13:41. > :13:46.but why it's going to be a really big day from the start for this

:13:47. > :13:57.Londoner. And we all notice been tried, but

:13:58. > :14:03.just how dry? When are we going to get some rain? Join me later.

:14:04. > :14:07.Now, the great british pub is on the decline in London.

:14:08. > :14:10.Figures from City Hall say pubs in London have fallen by more

:14:11. > :14:16.London Mayor Sadiq Khan has pledged to help.

:14:17. > :14:19.Let's get more on this - our reporter Alpa Patel

:14:20. > :14:27.is at a historical pub in Rotherhithe.

:14:28. > :14:35.Yes, this is a real gem of a pop. It dates back to the 16th century. It

:14:36. > :14:41.is named after the Mayflower, the boat that took the pilgrims over to

:14:42. > :14:47.America. There are fears that pubs like this are going to disappear

:14:48. > :14:54.across London. That is because of new figures released by the mayor 's

:14:55. > :14:58.office. According to the figures, over 1200 pubs have disappeared over

:14:59. > :15:05.the last 16 years. That is on average about 80 parts per year. The

:15:06. > :15:10.worst area is Barking and Dagenham. They have lost more than 60% of the

:15:11. > :15:20.Pops. -- 50%. We can talk to the manager of the poor. -- of the pub.

:15:21. > :15:25.Do you recognise the furious that they are facing? Absolutely. I've

:15:26. > :15:34.been here for about four years. I've seen 6-7 pubs that have either

:15:35. > :15:41.closed or be new closing. We have seen it be quite difficult. Time to

:15:42. > :15:48.keep burst stable and over. What you make of the male's pledged to help

:15:49. > :15:54.local pubs? It's not concrete but the fact we have someone like him in

:15:55. > :15:59.a corner is a wonderful thing. I hope there can be some policies put

:16:00. > :16:05.into play to concrete fact that pubs report of heritage and culture.

:16:06. > :16:12.Let's keep it going. -- are a part of our heritage. We will turn to one

:16:13. > :16:16.of the punters there. How many years have been coming here? 42. Longer

:16:17. > :16:25.than I haven't coming to The Mayflower. Why duty coming? Because

:16:26. > :16:33.I live 15 yards away. What would you do if this were disappeared? I Kante

:16:34. > :16:39.contemplated. -- I can't contemplated. Is it a place to

:16:40. > :16:43.socialise? It is. You come from all over the world and you. You only

:16:44. > :16:50.have to stay here and the world comes to you. That is the message

:16:51. > :16:53.from people at The Mayflower. Thank you.

:16:54. > :16:56.Now, it's generally tradition for the groom not to see the bride's

:16:57. > :17:00.But one woman from Greenwich who was diagnosed with breast cancer

:17:01. > :17:11.has shown us her specially designed gown - hope her husband's not

:17:12. > :17:14.watching - because she's planning to run the London marathon in it,

:17:15. > :17:16.immediately after getting married early that morning.

:17:17. > :17:27.Here is a picture of me do my first ever ten K run. I did it just a week

:17:28. > :17:34.before my last chemotherapy. This uninvited is my fiance, Dublin.

:17:35. > :17:37.Fiance from a few more days. On Sunday morning, Duncan becomes

:17:38. > :17:46.Jackie's husband. They will get married on one of London's famous

:17:47. > :17:53.landmarks. We are getting married at 7:30am on the Goddess work. Then we

:17:54. > :18:00.woke up the hill to run the London Marathon. She now has no signs of

:18:01. > :18:05.cancer. They will be raising money for charity and collating all the

:18:06. > :18:13.wedding guests, too. -- donating all the wedding guests. We are running

:18:14. > :18:17.for cancer care. They reminded us that whilst you are a cancer patient

:18:18. > :18:24.and you do with drugs and surgery, you have to be a human being. You're

:18:25. > :18:30.also a young woman with dreams and ambitions and a fiance. They give me

:18:31. > :18:34.the chance to be a person that I was when my fiance fell in love with me.

:18:35. > :18:44.This is Jackie's unconventional wedding dress. She can walk down the

:18:45. > :18:49.aisle in Denver on -- the aisle and then run a marathon. I am so

:18:50. > :18:53.absolutely overwhelmed with everything that Frankie has done for

:18:54. > :18:57.me. Every stitch, some hand-stitched. This is never what I

:18:58. > :19:03.thought I would run in. It gives thousands of people hope. You can

:19:04. > :19:10.come at the other side of a terrible disease. You can still run a

:19:11. > :19:13.marathon after a difficult treatment. It's incredible in itself

:19:14. > :19:17.to run a marathon but after everything you been through, anybody

:19:18. > :19:25.who uses or we can help but be moved by it. A wedding dress and trainers

:19:26. > :19:29.is not something I have seen before. I never thought I'd get married in

:19:30. > :19:36.China. I genuinely couldn't imagine doing it any other way. -- in

:19:37. > :19:41.trainers. It's certainly one way of setting off on the long road of

:19:42. > :19:42.married life. Good luck to everybody that is

:19:43. > :19:44.running this weekend. Just before the weather -

:19:45. > :19:46.an extraordinary collection of rare colour photographs taken

:19:47. > :19:48.during the Second World War have been released by

:19:49. > :19:50.the Imperial War Museum London. Many are being published

:19:51. > :19:52.for the very first time. The images taken by official

:19:53. > :19:55.photographers, news agencies Of course, colour film was rare

:19:56. > :20:01.and it was expensive to reproduce the pictures,

:20:02. > :20:06.so only a few colour You can see lots more of them

:20:07. > :20:15.on our Facebook page. Time now though for

:20:16. > :20:30.a check on the weather I saw some of the pictures earlier

:20:31. > :20:42.one. They are fantastic. Very colourful pictures today. We've had

:20:43. > :20:46.another Friday. Bring me Sunshine, in London. Lots more sunshine with

:20:47. > :20:51.the next few days. Perhaps a little bit more cloud as well. Earlier one,

:20:52. > :20:58.I spoke about how much rain we have had and that it has been a very dry

:20:59. > :21:03.April. It follows on from a very dry autumn and winter. One millilitre of

:21:04. > :21:11.rain. That this month. There is no significant rain until possibly

:21:12. > :21:18.Monday. That is even in doubt, the latest forecast has now come out.

:21:19. > :21:24.Still a lot of dry weather. Her pressure has been with us all month.

:21:25. > :21:29.-- high-pressure. They weaken and all the rain gets torn out of them.

:21:30. > :21:37.More in the way of cloud. That has just been evaporating as it has been

:21:38. > :21:44.heading our way. Sunshine to end the day. High cloud. That will be with

:21:45. > :21:48.those in the night. Only in the north will be see more significant

:21:49. > :21:54.cloud. In the south of London, a pinch of frost in the countryside.

:21:55. > :22:01.Pretty chilly first thing this morning, as well. Some sunshine. A

:22:02. > :22:05.little bit hazy and milky. It will turn to cloud slowly. Possibly some

:22:06. > :22:10.rain. That is more likely in Hertfordshire. Beveridge was similar

:22:11. > :22:18.to today. Eventually there will be more however. -- temperatures

:22:19. > :22:24.similar to today. Club disguise for many of us on Friday. The chance of

:22:25. > :22:32.some rain. Really that is it. -- cloud for many of us. A bit warmer.

:22:33. > :22:35.Temperatures up to 60-70 . The average temperatures are about 15.

:22:36. > :22:41.-- up to 16-17. Cloudy but try. Before we go tonight,

:22:42. > :22:43.the disruption is continuing for passengers in and out

:22:44. > :22:46.of London Euston after a fire on the line and it's

:22:47. > :22:48.likely to continue If you're one of the thousands of

:22:49. > :23:03.for us now. If you're one of the thousands of

:23:04. > :23:08.people that have turned up in the last couple of hours to get a train,

:23:09. > :23:10.you're been met by a locked door and a leaflet giving suggested
