:01:00. > :01:02.It was yesterday afternoon the police and ambulances
:01:03. > :01:04.were called to the centre after reports of a ten-year-old
:01:05. > :01:08.The police now say the incident involved what they call
:01:09. > :01:11.It is not entirely clear what the police mean
:01:12. > :01:16.But the boy was taken to hospital with serious head
:01:17. > :01:23.Officers say they're supporting the family at what they call this
:01:24. > :01:27.Other shoppers at the centre today spoke of their sadness.
:01:28. > :01:31.Just feel for his family, I really do.
:01:32. > :01:36.Yeah, our thoughts go out to them really.
:01:37. > :01:48.I feel quite bad for the parents because my daughter is eight,
:01:49. > :01:53.it would be quite - it's very sad actually.
:01:54. > :02:18.In a statement tonight Top Shop said.
:02:19. > :02:23.Taking place in a shop inside a mall this was an extremely rare incident,
:02:24. > :02:25.one that's touched people here as Kaden's family come
:02:26. > :02:37.If you've taken a tube or bus home tonight you might have been exposed
:02:38. > :02:40.to eight times more pollution than had you driven.
:02:41. > :02:42.That's even though motorists produce far more per person.
:02:43. > :02:45.A new study has compared how those using cars,
:02:46. > :02:48.buses and the underground in different areas of London were
:02:49. > :03:04.This piece of kit has been on a long journey.
:03:05. > :03:07.It measures the type of pollution and how much we are
:03:08. > :03:16.exposed to, and for how long for, depending how we commute to work.
:03:17. > :03:19.This green box is measuring the larger particles?
:03:20. > :03:21.Smaller particles of matter penetrate the lungs more
:03:22. > :03:26.But their content is particularly nasty on the
:03:27. > :03:41.We're looking at iron, aluminium, and traces of Salford.
:03:42. > :03:43.We're looking at iron, aluminium, and traces of sulphar.
:03:44. > :03:45.Car drivers are the biggest pollutants, but because of filters
:03:46. > :03:47.in the engine, they are the least exposed.
:03:48. > :03:51.It is those of us who get the bus that are exposed to five
:03:52. > :03:55.times more pollution because the engines keep running
:03:56. > :03:59.But this is the greatest pollutant of them all.
:04:00. > :04:03.The polluted air up above is sucked into deep
:04:04. > :04:04.tunnels underground, with nowhere to go.
:04:05. > :04:07.The deep tunnels on the Victoria and Northern lines are
:04:08. > :04:13.It's particularly bad if you're stood next to an open window.
:04:14. > :04:16.Tube passengers are exposed over eight times more of the larger
:04:17. > :04:30.But to fewer of the so-called tiny pollutants.
:04:31. > :04:31.They are considered to be more dangerous.
:04:32. > :04:33.Tube passengers also had, on average, shorter journeys,
:04:34. > :04:37.It is those travelling on buses who should be
:04:38. > :04:43.While exposed to five times more of the larger pollutants
:04:44. > :04:52.than cars, but crucially more of the ultra-fine particles.
:04:53. > :04:54.What mode of transport we use depends largely on
:04:55. > :05:02.The report's authors describe the findings as proof of an
:05:03. > :05:05.In the underground, I feel suffocated.
:05:06. > :05:15.They need to do something about this.
:05:16. > :05:17.The Mayor of London committed to us that he is
:05:18. > :05:26.Starting with getting rid of diesel busses.
:05:27. > :05:30.Pressure is mounting on the Government.
:05:31. > :05:35.An open letter from 220 doctors have warned the Prime
:05:36. > :05:38.Minister time is running out to protect the health of a generation
:05:39. > :05:41.It's emerged that a nine-year-old boy from West London
:05:42. > :05:43.was investigated by counterterrorism officers - after he stood up
:05:44. > :05:47.in class and pledged his allegiance to the so-called Islamic state.
:05:48. > :05:50.Well, Dan Freedman joins me now and this raises all sorts
:05:51. > :05:54.of questions, what exactly do we know?
:05:55. > :06:00.Well, these were officers from Prevent and they're the team that
:06:01. > :06:04.tried to stop people being radicalised before it's too late.
:06:05. > :06:11.They deal with children, teenagers and adults, they've dealt with more
:06:12. > :06:13.than 1,000 cases since 2012. This boy was highly intelligent, he
:06:14. > :06:18.became curious about so-called Islamic State after the Paris
:06:19. > :06:23.attacks at the end of 2015. Soon he was looking online at some of the
:06:24. > :06:24.most depraved and violent content of Isis propaganda. His words are
:06:25. > :06:29.spoken by an actor. The men were walking and then
:06:30. > :06:33.they were hit and they were told to sit down and that's
:06:34. > :06:35.when they cut their heads off. So on a weekend like,
:06:36. > :06:38.because everyone was going outside and playing, so when they all gone
:06:39. > :06:41.and the house was empty I would go and sit freely
:06:42. > :06:48.in the living and search up. However, it was when he stood up in
:06:49. > :06:51.class and declared his sympathy for so-called Islamic State that an
:06:52. > :06:55.intervention was staged. A Prevent officer spent a year with him
:06:56. > :06:59.visiting his home regularly, looking at online content with him and
:07:00. > :07:02.essentially deradicalising him and after a year she believed he was no
:07:03. > :07:06.longer any kind of threat and his case was closed. It is surprising
:07:07. > :07:10.there was intervention for someone so young, nine years old.
:07:11. > :07:15.Absolutely. In a sense Prevent say that's why he was so vulnerable. If
:07:16. > :07:19.he had gone to a chat room online and met with the wrong people he
:07:20. > :07:21.could have been even more radicalised than he was having
:07:22. > :07:24.already watched this violent content and that's the reason they say it
:07:25. > :07:27.was important to intervene at this stage. Thank you very much.
:07:28. > :07:30.The death of Anita Szucs, Ben Wales and Karla Roman
:07:31. > :07:32.all in London, all last week, has brought into sharp
:07:33. > :07:35.focus the dangers of cycling on our streets.
:07:36. > :07:38.Today, the husband of Anita Szucs has spoken to this programme
:07:39. > :07:53.Tamas and his wife Anita on their honeymoon in Japan last year.
:07:54. > :07:55.The couple met at home in Hungary five years ago.
:07:56. > :07:57.They moved to London together and were due
:07:58. > :08:00.to celebrate their first wedding anniversary in just over a week.
:08:01. > :08:09.She was always cheerful, happy and there was really no one
:08:10. > :08:19.who wouldn't be affected by her personalitity.
:08:20. > :08:23.Last Monday, Anita was killed after she was knocked over
:08:24. > :08:27.on her bike in Edmonton in a suspected hit-and-run.
:08:28. > :08:31.She had been returning from a late shift at work.
:08:32. > :08:33.She always cycled because there were no night buses.
:08:34. > :08:38.I mean, she followed all the rules, everything.
:08:39. > :08:41.She always had her high-vis vest, lights, helmet,
:08:42. > :08:47.I was really worried about her safety.
:08:48. > :08:52.Anita was one of three cyclists killed after collisions
:08:53. > :09:01.This was the protest on Saturday in Whitehall urging the Government
:09:02. > :09:05.Tamas says he is speaking out because he wants all road
:09:06. > :09:14.I just don't want this to remain just a story,
:09:15. > :09:18.we need to keep this danger in the top of everyone's mind
:09:19. > :09:26.Two men who were arrested in connection with Anita's death
:09:27. > :09:33.Tamas says he plans to return to Japan, the place where
:09:34. > :09:38.he and Anita celebrated their love story to scatter his wife's ashes.
:09:39. > :09:42.We were going to go back within one or two years anyway and this way
:09:43. > :10:01.That's it from me. I will hand you over to Wendy for the weather.
:10:02. > :10:06.Thank you. Not much rain in the forecast over the next few days. The
:10:07. > :10:10.little that we get might just be for tomorrow. We are going to get a few
:10:11. > :10:14.showers moving across the London region. Despite that it's going to
:10:15. > :10:19.be on the mild side once again. A bit of cloud at the moment, that's
:10:20. > :10:23.been pushing up from the south-west, low cloud, so misty and murky over
:10:24. > :10:27.higher ground and one or two showers into the early hours of the morning.
:10:28. > :10:31.It's a mild night, temperatures no lower than seven or eight. You will
:10:32. > :10:34.feel the benefit of that first thing tomorrow for your commute T will be
:10:35. > :10:38.on the cloudy side. Through the day we will be watching a few showers
:10:39. > :10:41.developing. They could be on the heavy side, thunder not out of the
:10:42. > :10:45.question. Temperatures are in double figures and winds are from the
:10:46. > :10:50.south-west so not too bad a day and it settles down towards the end of
:10:51. > :10:53.it. Thursday, a mix of cloud and bright spells, probably a foggy
:10:54. > :10:57.start. We have to watch that. Temperatures again will be in double
:10:58. > :11:00.figures. A look at the outlook, there will be plenty more of this
:11:01. > :11:02.weather into the weekend. A bit of fog around to watch out for.
:11:03. > :11:05.weather into the weekend. A bit of fog around to watch out for. Jon
