:00:13. > :00:20.A teenager from east London who fell from a cliff whilst on a school trip

:00:21. > :00:23.had an infection that could have caused him to be confused

:00:24. > :00:27.An inquest into the death of 16-year old Paddy Dear heard how he'd been

:00:28. > :00:29.suffering from acute tonsillitis and blood poisoning.

:00:30. > :00:47.A bright young rugby-mad teenager, Paddy Dear had his whole life ahead

:00:48. > :00:52.of him. But his life was ended a year ago on a school trip to Wales.

:00:53. > :00:59.He left one o' of the classrooms to go to toilet, but never returned.

:01:00. > :01:04.The septicaemia has set in, causing confusion and disorientation and his

:01:05. > :01:10.body was found later at the bottom of these cliffs. Dale Fort has been

:01:11. > :01:15.used as a base for school field trips since the end of the Second

:01:16. > :01:21.World War. The centre's manager told the inquest students are warned of

:01:22. > :01:29.the danger of cliffs. The coroner recorded a narrative conclusion

:01:30. > :01:40.noting Paddy died of injuries after falling from height when having

:01:41. > :01:46.septicaemia. Fe with can take some pride that his name has help lower

:01:47. > :01:50.the number of deaths. The inquest is another step in the long grieving

:01:51. > :01:53.process for the family. They're hoping his legacy can live on and no

:01:54. > :01:58.other families have to go through what they have.

:01:59. > :02:01.A World War Two bomb found in north west London has now

:02:02. > :02:08.Specialist officers were brought into make it safe.

:02:09. > :02:13.Residents living near by are being allowed to return home.

:02:14. > :02:16.The parents of a six month old baby are challenging doctors in court

:02:17. > :02:20.Charlie Gard is receiving round the clock treatment

:02:21. > :02:25.at Great Ormond Street hospital for a rare genetic condition.

:02:26. > :02:28.With no accepted cure for the disease, hospital bosses

:02:29. > :02:30.believe he should be allowed to die with dignity.

:02:31. > :02:32.But his parents want to take their son to America

:02:33. > :02:38.There's been a warning to people living in Hertfordshire

:02:39. > :02:41.after a dozen women had their drinks spiked on nights out.

:02:42. > :02:44.One woman from Harlow says she no longer feels safe after it

:02:45. > :03:03.Police are advising everyone not just women to be extra vigilant in

:03:04. > :03:14.the town centre. By day an is historic town, but after dark,

:03:15. > :03:20.Hertford has a thriving night life. It is a place Carrie says she

:03:21. > :03:24.doesn't feel socialising in again, a night out ended after she took a

:03:25. > :03:32.slip from her drink. She is convinced it had been spiked. It was

:03:33. > :03:37.quite early in the evening, about 9pm if that, having our first drink

:03:38. > :03:44.and chatting and then I stood up or stood back and just felt completely

:03:45. > :03:53.disownier Taited and -- disorientated and unbelievably

:03:54. > :04:00.unwell. The increasing number of suspected drink-spiking attacks has

:04:01. > :04:05.led the police to warn people the type of drugs are all designed to

:04:06. > :04:11.incapacitate. The consequences are dire. One would take it and collapse

:04:12. > :04:18.and die straightaway. What we are appealing for is people to be aware,

:04:19. > :04:23.be cautious around it. A test kit has been developed so people who

:04:24. > :04:26.suspect their drink may have been tampered with can check it. It part

:04:27. > :04:32.of a campaign called not in my drink. It is actually clever

:04:33. > :04:37.chemistry, it is pale yellow, you spot the drink on there and it

:04:38. > :04:43.changes orange or red and that identifies there is a drug present.

:04:44. > :04:47.Carrie's reported her suspected drink-spiking incident to police,

:04:48. > :04:51.but still feels wary going out and she is grateful her friend was there

:04:52. > :04:53.to help her get home. Without that, she believes things would have been

:04:54. > :04:56.a lot worse. A self-driving car is having

:04:57. > :04:59.its first major trial on our roads. The Japanese car maker Nissan hopes

:05:00. > :05:02.tests on the vehicle will reassure drivers that the technology

:05:03. > :05:03.can work here. Here's our Transport

:05:04. > :05:19.Correspondent Tom Edwards. Look - no hands! This is a

:05:20. > :05:25.self-driving car. Radars, lasers and cameras mean the car can drive

:05:26. > :05:31.itself. It is safe? Yes. No problem. Very stable. It is being trialled in

:05:32. > :05:37.east London and we were give an 20-minute spin. Why have you come to

:05:38. > :05:42.London? Because the British Government are proactive to

:05:43. > :05:50.accelerate this technology to improve the traffic. 90% of traffic

:05:51. > :05:54.accidents are caused by human errors and a machine will never be

:05:55. > :05:57.distracted. It is not intelligent enough yet, but we are confident we

:05:58. > :06:02.can improve the performance of the system. Our journey was not without

:06:03. > :06:09.incident. Here the driver had to take over from the computer. Didn't

:06:10. > :06:17.see that. This is not the expected vehicle. There are lots of hurdles

:06:18. > :06:21.ahead for self-driving cars, not least perception and legislation,

:06:22. > :06:26.but the capital is involved in testing this new technology.

:06:27. > :06:29.That's it for now from me, but lets find out what the weather's

:06:30. > :06:38.It is looking lively at the moment. There is a cluster of thunder storms

:06:39. > :06:42.just to the west of London. They should clear away in the next hour

:06:43. > :06:45.or so and once they do, they're going to continue to push east and

:06:46. > :06:51.we start off Saturday on a beautiful note. A lot of sunshine. Saturday

:06:52. > :06:54.the best of the two days. Clouding over from the west into the

:06:55. > :06:59.afternoon. But with the sun and temperatures up to 12 degrees and

:07:00. > :07:04.lighter winds, it will feel better. Make the most of Saturday if you

:07:05. > :07:08.can. Sunday looks like a real stinker. If you're sat on the

:07:09. > :07:16.touchline watching the kids play football first thing, you will need

:07:17. > :07:23.your waterproofs. It will be wet and windy. Some sunshine in the

:07:24. > :07:29.afternoon. Top temperatures on Sunday around 11 degrees. Here is

:07:30. > :07:40.the weekend outlook and Jay has more details. Good night.

:07:41. > :07:46.Good evening, mixed fortunes this weekend. Today we saw a fair share

:07:47. > :07:50.of rain. This is the view one of our weather watchers in Doncaster. Not

:07:51. > :07:56.particularly inspiring. This weekend there will be some rain, but some of

:07:57. > :08:03.us will get away with a dry start. This is the satellite and a lovely

:08:04. > :08:12.day in northern Scotland. But cloud and rain and thunder and lightning

:08:13. > :08:18.in this area. Our main area of rain is stuck across Northern Ireland and

:08:19. > :08:25.Scotland. Some snow over higher ground. And windy. Four or five

:08:26. > :08:30.degrees in Glasgow and Belfast. Seven or eight for Cardiff and

:08:31. > :08:35.London. In the morning a miserable start in the east of Scotland with a

:08:36. > :08:36.cold wind. A lot of cloud and rain.
