:00:12. > :00:18.A couple who pretended their baby had fallen ill on a London bus -

:00:19. > :00:22.to hide the fact she'd died at home - have been convicted of 'causing

:00:23. > :00:25.But Jeffrey Wiltshire and Rosalin Baker were cleared

:00:26. > :00:32.of murdering four month-old Imani, who suffered multiple injuries.

:00:33. > :00:34.A warning, that Richard Lister's report contains details some viewers

:00:35. > :00:39.Rosalin Baker and Jeffrey Wiltshire, the parents of four-month-old Imani

:00:40. > :00:45.whose violent death they tried to cover up.

:00:46. > :00:49.On September 28 last year, Baker was spotted on CCTV in a shop

:00:50. > :00:54.near her home in East London carrying Imani in a sling.

:00:55. > :00:58.Imani's face is obscured by a piece of cloth.

:00:59. > :01:00.Minutes later we see Wiltshire pushing their other child

:01:01. > :01:07.They kiss and as the doors close Wiltshire gives her a thumbs up.

:01:08. > :01:11.But both parents know Imani is already dead.

:01:12. > :01:16.It's not until half an hour later that Baker calls out for

:01:17. > :01:21.This woman immediately checks on Imani and alerts other passengers,

:01:22. > :01:24.one of whom rushes to tell the driver what's going on.

:01:25. > :01:26.Baker is still on the phone but she doesn't

:01:27. > :01:40.The jury was told that when medical teams finally

:01:41. > :01:48.examined Imani they found she'd been dead for some time and had a string

:01:49. > :01:50.of terrible injuries, 40 rib fractures, a broken wrist, and a

:01:51. > :01:53.fractured skull, which is what caused her death.

:01:54. > :01:55.Baker and Wiltshire were acquitted of murder

:01:56. > :01:58.but found guilty of causing or allowing Imani's death and Judge

:01:59. > :02:00.Nicholas Hilliard said they were facing a substantial

:02:01. > :02:11.Now to June's general election, and there's news that some political

:02:12. > :02:13.parties might just be looking at encouraging tactical

:02:14. > :02:17.Louisa Preston can tell us more about it -

:02:18. > :02:19.and how it's already been used in London to great effect.

:02:20. > :02:30.It's always been used to great effect in London, hasn't it? The

:02:31. > :02:33.Greens in Richmond Park in the by-election before Christmas didn't

:02:34. > :02:38.put a candidate forward, giving the Liberal Democrats a massive boost to

:02:39. > :02:43.beat Zac Goldsmith. We're hearing the Greens may not put a candidate

:02:44. > :02:47.forward in that seat in this election so it raises questions of

:02:48. > :02:51.whether this could happen elsewhere. We know in areas like Kingston and

:02:52. > :02:54.Twickenham if the Greens didn't put a candidate forward it would give a

:02:55. > :02:59.big boost to the Liberal Democrats to try and defeat the Tories. Where

:03:00. > :03:02.not hearing anything from the Liberal Democrats but we are also

:03:03. > :03:08.hearing tonight the Greens aren't keen on that idea in Kingston. This

:03:09. > :03:12.is the message from the top. This is absolutely about locally driven

:03:13. > :03:15.arrangements in a handful of constituencies, we're not expecting

:03:16. > :03:19.it to happen everywhere by any means but if there are marginal seats in

:03:20. > :03:23.particular whereby some kind of cooperation we can keep out of

:03:24. > :03:29.Parliament and out of government, an extreme form of Tory candidate, then

:03:30. > :03:32.I think that is a positive thing. We understand there is news tonight of

:03:33. > :03:40.an intervention by the businesswoman Gena Miller? That's right, many

:03:41. > :03:45.people will probably remember Gena Miller brought forward a legal

:03:46. > :03:49.action against the government of article 50. She's involved in a

:03:50. > :03:52.campaign on pursuing tactical voting and starting crowdfunding, promising

:03:53. > :03:57.to back candidates that will put the best case against Brexit. We've

:03:58. > :04:04.heard some more MPs are standing down, including Labour MP Jim Dowd

:04:05. > :04:08.from Lewisham and Fiona McTaggart in Slough. I've spoken to Fiona

:04:09. > :04:09.McTaggart this evening and she is expected to make more statements

:04:10. > :04:14.tomorrow. Police officers are being told

:04:15. > :04:19.they may have to shoot terrorists behind the wheel of a car -

:04:20. > :04:22.if it's being used in an attack. It goes against previous advice

:04:23. > :04:24.NOT to shoot drivers of moving vehicles -

:04:25. > :04:27.but comes a month after Westminster Nice in France, last year,

:04:28. > :04:33.a 19 tonne truck ploughs into crowds Westminster last month,

:04:34. > :04:46.four dead when hit by a car on And Stockholm, another crash

:04:47. > :04:49.lorry, four more dead. Terrorist vehicle attacks, simple,

:04:50. > :04:51.ruthless, and being used with As an emergent tactic

:04:52. > :04:54.in terrorism it's becoming Last year, for example,

:04:55. > :05:01.we recorded data that for the first time ever there were more casualties

:05:02. > :05:04.caused by this form of terrorism than any other form of terrorist

:05:05. > :05:07.attack in Europe for the first time Now the police themselves

:05:08. > :05:12.are recalibrating. Previous advice was against shooting

:05:13. > :05:14.at moving vehicles, if possible to avoid

:05:15. > :05:19.collateral damage. Now the National Police Chiefs

:05:20. > :05:22.Council has dropped that guidance in perceived

:05:23. > :05:23.terror related incidents. Now it's about taking aim

:05:24. > :05:26.at the driver and stopping the An important change,

:05:27. > :05:35.say some experts. When you're talking about terrorism

:05:36. > :05:38.and the use of HGVs in circumstances like this, there

:05:39. > :05:42.had to be a developed tactic to go with it and there had to be

:05:43. > :05:46.a broader acceptance of what might Visibly that is what

:05:47. > :05:50.has gone on now. But it isn't just vehicle attacks,

:05:51. > :05:52.counterterrorism specialist firearms officers are being trained

:05:53. > :05:55.to storm tubes and train carriages in the event of a marauding

:05:56. > :06:02.gun man attack. It's inspiring a recruitment drive

:06:03. > :06:04.of specialist firearms But that's being jeopardised,

:06:05. > :06:10.according to the Police Chiefs I've heard that said

:06:11. > :06:21.but I haven't seen any evidence in terms of the numbers of

:06:22. > :06:24.people that are applying the number The other thing that

:06:25. > :06:31.I would say from our point of view is that no

:06:32. > :06:34.firearms officer should feel that they have anything to fear from

:06:35. > :06:37.independent scrutiny by the IPCC. You think we will see

:06:38. > :06:44.more of this in Europe? Is in this light that the Met are

:06:45. > :06:48.increasing their armed officer count For many, not just

:06:49. > :06:51.a target, but a necessity. The number of buses on Oxford Street

:06:52. > :06:59.will be almost halved It's to reduce congestion

:07:00. > :07:02.and air pollution - and goes some way to meeting

:07:03. > :07:05.the Mayor's pledge to fully pedestrianise the street

:07:06. > :07:07.in a few years time. We sent out Sonja Jessup and Marc

:07:08. > :07:15.Ashdown to consider its impact. We are at the start

:07:16. > :07:17.of Oxford Street, Marble Arch Yeah, so fewer buses,

:07:18. > :07:21.I wonder what effect that will have on how people get

:07:22. > :07:23.from one end to another. I've got slightly better shoes on,

:07:24. > :07:28.it's a nice day, I don't I wondered whether my fellow

:07:29. > :07:40.passengers would be happy with fewer No, because I use them all the time

:07:41. > :07:44.when I come to London and Do you think it's a good

:07:45. > :07:51.idea then, fewer buses? So the traffic isn't

:07:52. > :07:58.too bad at the moment. But the idea of changing

:07:59. > :08:01.these 23 routes is to cut congestion, to try to make

:08:02. > :08:04.services quicker and more reliable. Are you on one of these

:08:05. > :08:07.buses behind me? No, we're making very

:08:08. > :08:10.good progress actually. There has been a bit of traffic

:08:11. > :08:13.but at least we got a We are motoring, I'm

:08:14. > :08:16.at Oxford Circus. Get your skates on,

:08:17. > :08:18.there's lots of traffic. Regent Street's going to see big

:08:19. > :08:25.changes too with far fewer buses. And of course, it's

:08:26. > :08:29.also about safety. Two years ago Tom Kearney

:08:30. > :08:32.was left in a coma after he was hit in the head by a bus wing

:08:33. > :08:36.mirror at this junction. So, what do you think of having

:08:37. > :08:43.fewer buses on Oxford Street? This is something the mayor

:08:44. > :08:46.has committed to, this campaign, and this is hugely

:08:47. > :08:49.important, a 40% reduction in buses. To be honest, you could not design

:08:50. > :08:51.a more dangerous And safer streets are more

:08:52. > :08:55.attractive for shoppers too. Well, fantastic news

:08:56. > :08:59.for our businesses and for our Less traffic, less

:09:00. > :09:05.buses in the West End, Too much pollution,

:09:06. > :09:11.and just too many Well, this is about

:09:12. > :09:28.encouraging more cycling too. And I see you got

:09:29. > :09:40.yourself a bike too. Well, it was hardly scientific

:09:41. > :09:44.but it was good fun. All right, listen, I'd

:09:45. > :09:55.better get this back. They had a well earned coffee when

:09:56. > :09:57.they got back. The weather with Nick. It looked nice out there, but

:09:58. > :10:04.chilly at times. Tomorrow you'll notice it's warmer.

:10:05. > :10:08.Today gardeners were teased with a trickle of rain. No substantial rain

:10:09. > :10:10.tomorrow. Into the weekend some occasional sunshine and it'll feel

:10:11. > :10:15.warmer especially tomorrow. Overnight tonight it won't be as

:10:16. > :10:20.chilly as it's been an recent nights. Some clear spells, cloud at

:10:21. > :10:23.times, temperatures in single figures but not as low as they've

:10:24. > :10:27.been. A fine start tomorrow morning and through the day tomorrow the

:10:28. > :10:31.cloud will come and go, occasional sunshine, small chance of a light

:10:32. > :10:37.shower. But for the vast majority looking dry. In the sunshine, that

:10:38. > :10:42.warmth around. Maybe even 19 Celsius. This is Saturday. More

:10:43. > :10:50.clout. Might be a light shower. The emphasis on dry weather. Not just

:10:51. > :10:55.Saturday, part two of the weekend as well. The weekend may even be bright

:10:56. > :10:57.on Sunday after call start. The London Marathon runners would

:10:58. > :11:03.appreciate that. Much colder next week for much of the UK and for more

:11:04. > :11:08.about that and the UK outlook, Helen Willetts.

:11:09. > :11:15.The sunshine make such a difference this time of year, only 12 or so

:11:16. > :11:19.degrees under the cloud today but 19 in eastern Scotland not far away

:11:20. > :11:23.from St Andrews. Also in north-east England, where we had the majority

:11:24. > :11:27.of the decent sunshine. Even under cloud it was dry for the most part.

:11:28. > :11:31.We have this week whether forgiving showers in the south. This weather

:11:32. > :11:32.front starting to pep up in the North, it'll change
