:02:35. > :02:36.Sadiq Khan has also crossed swords with his predecessor over

:02:44. > :02:48.If I may say so, that is entirely his wastage.

:02:49. > :02:50.It was up to him to proceed with this project.

:02:51. > :02:54.I do believe it will still be done, and it will be a great thing.

:03:41. > :03:42.An investigation has been launched by the tram company,

:03:43. > :03:47.just six months after another one of its trams derailed in Croydon,

:03:48. > :03:55.Here's our transport correspondent Tom Edwards.

:03:56. > :03:58.This footage taken by a passenger on Wednesday shows a tram driver

:03:59. > :04:05.apparently asleep at the controls during the morning rush hour.

:04:06. > :04:08.Given to the Evening Standard, the person who took the footage

:04:09. > :04:13.told the paper there were about 50 passengers on board.

:04:14. > :04:15.The tram was being held at a red light.

:04:16. > :04:18.Again, it puts driver fatigue in the spotlight.

:04:19. > :04:27.Yeah, it's happened to me once in ten years.

:04:28. > :04:30.Recently, four drivers told the BBC

:04:31. > :04:31.they'd also fallen asleep at the controls.

:04:32. > :04:34.How many drivers do you think have fallen asleep in the cabin?

:04:35. > :04:38.I would have to say most drivers have at some point in their careers.

:04:39. > :04:41.when a tram derailed in Croydon last November.

:04:42. > :04:48.It was travelling at 46mph around a tight corner,

:04:49. > :04:55.A preliminary report has said the driver lost awareness,

:04:56. > :05:02.an investigation is still trying to find out.

:05:03. > :05:09.they're reluctant to admit fatigue to transport bosses.

:05:10. > :05:14.Why aren't drivers telling the operators what's going wrong?

:05:15. > :05:19.If we were to come forward and say, "Excuse me, I fell asleep,"

:05:20. > :05:23.The Mayor says he is furious at the latest incident.

:05:24. > :05:29.The operator, First Group, says the driver has been suspended.

:05:30. > :05:31.TfL has passed the footage on to the ongoing investigations.

:05:32. > :05:33.But all of this again heightens concerns

:05:34. > :05:43.about driver fatigue on London's tram network.
