:00:41. > :00:45.Well, the carnival is now in full swing.

:00:53. > :01:00.But on the ground, amongst the sequins, is a security challenge

:01:01. > :01:03.heightened by an unprecedented year of terror in London.

:01:04. > :01:09.I think things are developing and changing, and so are our

:01:10. > :01:13.responses to the nature and extent of any possible threat.

:01:14. > :01:16.Clearly, we're using technology to support us

:01:17. > :01:21.in protecting our communities, and so we will use anything

:01:22. > :01:27.that is lawful and proportionate to help us keep communities safe.

:01:28. > :01:29.So far, arrests are down compared to last year,

:01:36. > :01:38.That's what terrorists want you to do, be inside and be afraid,
