0:00:23 > 0:00:29there will be additional armed officers on patrol.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31And it's not just Scotland Yard - the London Ambulance Service

0:00:31 > 0:00:34is also preparing for its busiest night of the year.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37Last year's fireworks display, watched by thousands in the capital,

0:00:37 > 0:00:41all lining the Thames to take in the sights and sounds.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44It's one of the biggest events of the year,

0:00:44 > 0:00:46with preparations well under way.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48But with so many descending on one area,

0:00:48 > 0:00:51security needs to be stepped up.

0:00:51 > 0:00:55What people see as they come into the footprint, they will see

0:00:55 > 0:00:57a effective search and secure regime, they will see

0:00:57 > 0:01:00physical barriers, they will see uniformed police officers,

0:01:00 > 0:01:05they will see visible uniformed private security contractors.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08What they won't see is a number of covert resources

0:01:08 > 0:01:12that are also working alongside us to keep this event safe.

0:01:12 > 0:01:17The Met says it is learnt lessons this year following four major

0:01:17 > 0:01:21terror incidents in the city.

0:01:21 > 0:01:22Elsewhere, other emergency services

0:01:22 > 0:01:25are stepping things up for the big event.

0:01:25 > 0:01:26For London Ambulance Service,

0:01:26 > 0:01:29New Year's Eve is the busiest night of the year.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33Dozens of extra staff are going to be on shift in this call centre.

0:01:33 > 0:01:34They're expecting to take around 2000 extra calls.

0:01:34 > 0:01:38Everybody likes to party on New Year's Eve.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40We've got some simple messages

0:01:40 > 0:01:43for everybody who wants to go out to party.

0:01:43 > 0:01:44Go out and party safely.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47Have a plan, have a bite to eat before you go,

0:01:47 > 0:01:50drink plenty of water, have a few drinks by all means,

0:01:50 > 0:01:51but drink in moderation.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54We want you to get home safely, we want you to be healthy,

0:01:54 > 0:01:57we want you to have a great night, not have a night that ends up

0:01:57 > 0:02:00in the back of an ambulance or an emergency department.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16London have described her as a kind, fun and life-loving person.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19The body of Iuliana Tudos was found in Finsbury Park on Wednesday.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21Police believe the 22-year-old, who was also known as Julie,

0:02:21 > 0:02:22was murdered on Christmas Eve.

0:02:22 > 0:02:27Ayshea Buksh reports.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30She was getting ready for a Christmas in London

0:02:30 > 0:02:33with her friends.

0:02:33 > 0:02:3522-year-old Iuliana Tudos was last seen in Camden on Christmas Eve

0:02:35 > 0:02:38after finishing her shift at a local pub.

0:02:38 > 0:02:41Two days later, she was found murdered near her

0:02:41 > 0:02:44home in Finsbury Park.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47Much of the park has been closed off to the public while police

0:02:47 > 0:02:50forensics search for clues.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54She left Camden, left her friends, and we know that she got transport

0:02:54 > 0:02:57to come back to this area, and effectively she was going back

0:02:57 > 0:03:00to gather some stuff to go back to her friend's for Christmas Eve.

0:03:00 > 0:03:04We know her last movement was at 8:20 on Christmas Eve,

0:03:04 > 0:03:07so the 24th, and she was seen in the perimeter,

0:03:07 > 0:03:12we know we've got last sighting in the perimeter of this park.

0:03:12 > 0:03:16She's been described by friends as a kind and friendly young woman.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19A postmortem today showed she had a head injury

0:03:19 > 0:03:24and had been stabbed in the stomach.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26It's really important

0:03:26 > 0:03:28that we identify anyone who may have seen her.

0:03:28 > 0:03:31It was a lively area, the park is a busy park,

0:03:31 > 0:03:33and indeed the perimeter has got public houses and other trades,

0:03:34 > 0:03:35shops who may just have seen her,

0:03:35 > 0:03:39she may be a regular in one of those shops.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42So far, no arrests have been made, and police say anyone with

0:03:42 > 0:03:44any information should contact them as soon as possible.
