:00:00. > :00:19.We start this lunchtime with news just in that the
:00:20. > :00:22.Mayor of Lewisham has said, in his opinion, there should be no
:00:23. > :00:24.compulsory purchase orders on land around Millwall's football stadium.
:00:25. > :00:27.It comes after BBC London learned that the council would hold
:00:28. > :00:30.an independent review into controversial plans
:00:31. > :00:34.which would see over 2,000 homes built, as well as a state
:00:35. > :00:41.Millwall have suggested it could force them to leave the area.
:00:42. > :00:53.Yes, this is Millwall's community trust. This is where the young
:00:54. > :00:57.players will train in their Academy and where schools will use the
:00:58. > :01:01.facility here. There are several pictures. With me is one of the
:01:02. > :01:06.Labour councillors who has opposed this development. Why have you felt
:01:07. > :01:12.so strongly about it? I think that the Kenya to trust and the Academy
:01:13. > :01:17.are really integral to our local community. -- the community trust.
:01:18. > :01:20.Millwall football club has been in Lewisham for over 100 years. It's
:01:21. > :01:25.part of the cultural heritage of our town. What is your understanding of
:01:26. > :01:30.what will happen to this community trust, and other businesses, if the
:01:31. > :01:33.plans go ahead as they stand at the moment? We have been told that the
:01:34. > :01:41.football club would have to look at the option of moving. There have
:01:42. > :01:47.been a football club on this site for some 12 years. Before that, it
:01:48. > :01:52.had been out for 100 years. It would be phenomenal and such a loss to the
:01:53. > :01:56.community to lose a successful football club. But the new
:01:57. > :02:01.development means new homes, new housing. Desperately needed in
:02:02. > :02:05.London. Desperately needed new housing, but new social housing,
:02:06. > :02:08.too. There is zero social housing proposed in this development and
:02:09. > :02:14.very little so-called affordable housing, which is even out of the
:02:15. > :02:18.reach of most Londoners. The BBC has seen a letter which says there will
:02:19. > :02:26.be a review of parts of this development, hence an anti-smoking
:02:27. > :02:33.promises -- hence an end to some of the promises made. I welcome an
:02:34. > :02:38.independent enquiry, but it must be independent and it must be
:02:39. > :02:41.investigated. It must have an investigation so we get clarity.
:02:42. > :02:45.Because what we don't have at the moment is clarity on the future of
:02:46. > :02:49.Millwall football club, Millwall community trust, and all the good
:02:50. > :02:54.work it does locally. The local residents and the public deserve to
:02:55. > :02:57.know this. Thank you very much. We have asked Lewisham Council and the
:02:58. > :02:59.developers for a statement. But so far they've not been available for
:03:00. > :03:00.comment. Several businesses in Wembley have
:03:01. > :03:03.been destroyed after a large fire gutted a building
:03:04. > :03:05.on an industrial estate. It began on Monday evening
:03:06. > :03:07.but wasn't brought under control Over 120 fire-fighters
:03:08. > :03:13.tackled the blaze. The cause is not yet known
:03:14. > :03:17.and an investigation has begun. Alpa Patel has been meeting
:03:18. > :03:31.some of those affected. Well, this is the complex at the
:03:32. > :03:38.heart of this fire here in Wembley. It broke out on Monday night. About
:03:39. > :03:43.120 firefighters tackled the flames. I spoke to the site manager who says
:03:44. > :03:47.there's about 50 businesses inside. He told me it's very likely that the
:03:48. > :03:52.whole building will now have to be torn down. I've been speaking to one
:03:53. > :03:56.business owner. He owns an IT consultancy company and he told me
:03:57. > :04:03.this has come as a shock and has been very disruptive to his
:04:04. > :04:09.business. As far as I know, it is 100% total loss. So we have lost all
:04:10. > :04:12.the equipment, servers, computers. Some of the back-ups. You can
:04:13. > :04:19.imagine just watching something, where you work, burning in front of
:04:20. > :04:29.your eyes, and not being able to do anything. It's... It's painful. It's
:04:30. > :04:33.difficult. I'm glad that it didn't happen while I or my staff were in
:04:34. > :04:40.the office. Hopefully the insurance will pay for the equipment. But we
:04:41. > :04:46.are safe, nobody is injured, that is the positive point. Sanjay is not
:04:47. > :04:50.the only business owner to be severely affected by this massive
:04:51. > :04:53.fire. We've been filming all morning and business owners have come up to
:04:54. > :04:58.us all morning telling us their stories, how they've lost Ark, how
:04:59. > :05:02.they've lost equipment. They're now dealing with their insurance
:05:03. > :05:06.companies. One thing is for sure - they will not be returning back to
:05:07. > :05:08.this complex here. -- how they've lost stock.
:05:09. > :05:10.Next this lunchtime, a North Korean diplomat who defected
:05:11. > :05:13.from the London embassy last year has given his first TV interview
:05:14. > :05:17.Thae Yong-ho told the BBC he believes the regime will collapse
:05:18. > :05:25.Now living in South Korea, he's been talking about how much
:05:26. > :05:31.The North Korean Embassy, just off the North Circular in Ealing.
:05:32. > :05:33.For about ten years, this was home to the former
:05:34. > :05:38.Then in August, he defected to South Korea.
:05:39. > :05:40.In his first interview since defecting, he says
:05:41. > :05:43.he believes his relatives in North Korea would have been
:05:44. > :05:48.sent to prison camps as punishment for his actions.
:05:49. > :05:54.I am sure that my relatives and my brothers' and sisters'
:05:55. > :06:00.families are now all sent to either remote, closed areas,
:06:01. > :06:13.I am very much now determined to do everything possible to pull down
:06:14. > :06:24.To save not only my family members, but the whole of the North Korean
:06:25. > :06:31.On the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, he says he believes
:06:32. > :06:33.the dictator is prepared to fire nuclear weapons at America
:06:34. > :06:44.Kim Jong-un will press the button on the dangerous weapons
:06:45. > :06:54.if he thinks that his rule, dynasty is threatened.
:06:55. > :06:58.Remembering his life in London, the former diplomat says
:06:59. > :07:09.I really miss, kind of, you know, the life.
:07:10. > :07:18.Even now I'm really sorry for not saying goodbye to my tennis club.
:07:19. > :07:26.I still miss the English spring and autumn.
:07:27. > :07:28.Now I really want to say goodbye and thank you
:07:29. > :07:38.Another cold and foggy morning and it's set to get even colder.
:07:39. > :07:53.Good afternoon. It has been another very cold and very foggy day.
:07:54. > :07:56.Visibility considerably reduced this morning, but it has led to some
:07:57. > :08:02.beautiful Weather Watcher pictures. You can see in Twickenham earlier,
:08:03. > :08:06.the freezing fog. Over towards Kingston as well. It has been across
:08:07. > :08:10.the board. It hasn't really gone anywhere this afternoon. If you
:08:11. > :08:16.don't have the fog, it will remain rather cloudy. The fog, if it does
:08:17. > :08:21.lift, it will lift into cloud and be a grey afternoon. We are seeing this
:08:22. > :08:26.cloud coming up from the consonant, importing cold air. The temperatures
:08:27. > :08:31.will struggle between 2-4 Celsius. Overnight the temperature will fall
:08:32. > :08:35.away. We are looking at temperatures of zero or maybe below. So a
:08:36. > :08:40.widespread frost. We could see fog, but the wind will pick up, helping
:08:41. > :08:44.to clear it out of the way. A cold, frosty start tomorrow morning. The
:08:45. > :08:48.cloud will thin and break. We should see glimmers of brightness and
:08:49. > :08:52.sunshine. The south-easterly wind will strengthen and it's a bitterly
:08:53. > :08:58.cold south-easterly wind. Feeling raw through much of Thursday.
:08:59. > :09:02.Temperatures between 1-5 Celsius. Feeling particularly chilly if you
:09:03. > :09:06.factor in the wind-chill. Cold despite being more sunshine in the
:09:07. > :09:09.afternoon tomorrow. Another cold night Thursday into Friday. Still
:09:10. > :09:15.breezy for Friday, but we're starting to see some slightly less
:09:16. > :09:16.cold air. A touch mild, if I can say that, as we head through Friday and
:09:17. > :09:17.Saturday. Riz will be here at 6:30pm
:09:18. > :09:21.with all the latest. Thanks for watching,
:09:22. > :09:23.have a lovely afternoon. Should've seen Hillary's face.
:09:24. > :09:46.She was stood there with Bill.
